1 Now after these things, in the reigne of Artahshashte King of Persia, was Ezra the sonne of Seraiah, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Hilkiah,
1 Ora, depois destas coisas, no reinado de Artaxerxes, rei da Pérsia, Esdras, o filho de Seraías, o filho de Azarias, o filho de Hilquias,
2 The sonne of Shallum, the sonne of Zadok, the sonne of Ahitub,
2 o filho de Salum, o filho de Zadoque, o filho de Aitube,
3 The sonne of Amariah, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Meraioth,
3 o filho de Amarias, o filho de Azarias, o filho de Meraiote,
4 The sonne of Zeraiah, the sonne of Vzzi, the sonne of Bukki,
4 o filho de Zeraías, o filho de Uzi, o filho de Buqui,
5 The sonne of Abishua, the sonne of Phinehas, the sonne of Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron, the chiefe Priest.
5 o filho de Abisua, o filho de Fineias, o filho de Eleazar, o filho de Arão, o sumo sacerdote;
6 This Ezra came vp from Babel, and was a Scribe prompt in the Lawe of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had giuen, and the King gaue him all his request according to the hande of the Lord his God which was vpon him.
6 este Esdras subiu de Babilônia; e ele era um escriba hábil na lei de Moisés, dada pelo SENHOR Deus de Israel; de acordo com a mão do SENHOR, o seu Deus, que estava sobre ele, e o rei lhe deu tudo quanto lhe pedira.
7 And there went vp certaine of the children of Israel, and of the Priests, and the Leuites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims vnto Ierusalem, in the seuenth yere of King Artahshashte.
7 No sétimo ano do rei Artaxerxes subiram para Jerusalém alguns dos filhos de Israel, e dos sacerdotes, e dos levitas, e dos cantores, e dos porteiros e dos Netineus.
8 And hee came to Ierusalem in the fift moneth, which was in the seuenth yeere of the King.
8 E ele veio para Jerusalém no quinto mês, o qual era o sétimo ano do rei.
9 For vpon the first day of the first moneth began he to goe vp from Babel, and on the first day of the fift moneth came he to Ierusalem, according to the good hande of his God that was vpon him.
9 Pois no primeiro dia do primeiro mês ele partiu de Babilônia, e no primeiro dia do quinto mês chegou a Jerusalém, de acordo com a boa mão do seu Deus sobre ele.
10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seeke the Lawe of the Lord, and to doe it, and to teach the precepts and iudgements in Israel.
10 Porque Esdras havia preparado o seu coração para buscar a lei do SENHOR, e para executá-la, e para ensinar em Israel estatutos e juízos.
11 And this is the copie of the letter that King Artahshashte gaue vnto Ezra the Priest and scribe, euen a writer of the words of the commadements of ye Lord, and of his statutes ouer Israel.
11 Ora, esta é a cópia da carta que o rei Artaxerxes deu ao sacerdote Esdras, o escriba, a saber um escriba das palavras dos mandamentos do SENHOR, e dos seus estatutos para Israel.
12 ARTAHSHASHTE King of Kings to Ezra the Priest and perfite scribe of the Lawe of the God of heauen, and to Cheeneth.
12 Artaxerxes, rei dos reis, ao sacerdote Esdras, um escriba da lei do Deus do céu, perfeita paz, e em tal tempo.
13 I haue giuen commandement, that euery one, that is willing in my kingdome of the people of Israel, and of the Priestes, and Leuites to goe to Ierusalem with thee, shall goe.
13 Eu faço um decreto, para que todos do povo de Israel, e dos seus sacerdotes e levitas, no meu reino, que estejam dispostos para ir a Jerusalém, de sua livre vontade, que vá contigo.
14 Therefore art thou sent of the King and his seuen counsellers, to enquire in Iudah and Ierusalem, according to the lawe of thy God, which is in thine hand,
14 Porquanto como tu és enviado do rei, e dos seus sete conselheiros, para investigar acerca de Judá e de Jerusalém, de acordo com a lei do teu Deus que está na tua mão;
15 And to carry the siluer and the gold, which the King and his cousellers willingly offer vnto the God of Israel (whose habitation is in Ierusalem)
15 e para carregar a prata e ouro, a qual o rei e os seus conselheiros têm oferecido livremente ao Deus de Israel, cuja habitação está em Jerusalém,
16 And all the siluer and gold that thou canst finde in all the prouince of Babel, with the free offring of the people, and that which the Priestes offer willingly to the house of their God which is in Ierusalem,
16 e toda a prata e ouro que puderes encontrar em todas as províncias de Babilônia, com a oferta voluntária do povo, e dos sacerdotes, ofertando deliberadamente para a casa do seu Deus que está em Jerusalém;
17 That thou mayest bye speedily with this siluer, bullocks, rammes, lambes, with their meate offrings and their drinke offrings: and thou shalt offer them vpon the altar of the house of your God, which is in Ierusalem.
17 para que tu possas comprar, rapidamente, com este dinheiro novilhos, carneiros, cordeiros, com as suas ofertas de carne e as suas ofertas de bebida, e oferecê-los sobre o altar da casa do vosso Deus que está em Jerusalém.
18 And whatsoeuer it pleaseth thee and thy brethren to do with the rest of the siluer, and gold, doe ye it according to the will of your God.
18 Fazei com o restante da prata e do ouro tudo o que parecer bom a ti e a teus irmãos, o fareis conforme a vontade do vosso Deus.
19 And the vessels that are giuen thee for the seruice of the house of thy God, those deliuer thou before God in Ierusalem.
19 Também os vasos que te são dados para o serviço da casa do teu Deus, entrega-os diante do Deus de Jerusalém.
20 And the residue that shall be needeful for the house of thy God, which shall be meete for thee to bestowe, thou shalt bestowe it out of the Kings treasure house,
20 E tudo o mais que for necessário para a casa do teu Deus, o que te for preciso dar, dá-lo-ás da casa dos tesouros do rei.
21 And I King Artahshashte haue giuen commandemet to all the treasurers which are beyond the Riuer, that whatsoeuer Ezra the Priest and Scribe of the Law of the God of heauen shall require of you, that it be done incontinently,
21 Eu, sim eu, o rei Artaxerxes, faço um decreto a todos os tesoureiros que estão além do rio, que se entregue prontamente tudo o que vos pedir o sacerdote Esdras, o escriba da lei do Deus do céu,
22 Vnto an hundreth talents of siluer, vnto an hundreth measures of wheate, and vnto an hundreth baths of wine, and vnto an hundreth baths of oyle, and salt without writing.
22 até uma centena de talentos, e até uma centena de medidas de trigo, e até uma centena de batos de vinho, e até uma centena de batos de azeite, e sal sem prescrever quanto.
23 Whatsoeuer is by the commandement of the God of heauen, let it be done speedily for the house of the God of heauen: for why should he be wroth against the realme of the King, and his children?
23 Tudo o quanto for ordenado pelo Deus do céu, seja isto diligentemente feito para a casa do Deus do céu; porquanto por que deveria haver ira contra o domínio do rei e dos seus filhos?
24 And we certifie you, that vpon any of the Priestes, Leuites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or Ministers in this house of God, there shall no gouernour laye vpon them tolle, tribute nor custome.
24 Nós também, certificamo-vos que, no tocante a qualquer um dos sacerdotes e levitas, cantores, porteiros, netineus, ou ministros desta casa de Deus, não será lícito impor portagem, tributo, ou taxas alfandegárias sobre eles.
25 And thou Ezra (after the wisedome of thy God, that is in thine hand) set iudges and arbiters, which may iudge all the people that is beyond the Riuer, euen all that knowe the Lawe of thy God, and teach ye them that know it not.
25 E tu, Esdras, segundo a sabedoria do teu Deus, que está na tua mão, estabelece magistrados e juízes, os quais possam julgar todos os povos que estão além do rio, todos os tais que conheçam as leis do teu Deus; e ensinai aqueles que não as conhecem.
26 And whosoeuer will not doe the Lawe of thy God, and the Kings lawe, let him haue iudgement without delay, whether it be vnto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
26 E todo aquele que não quiser executar a lei do teu Deus, e a lei do rei, seja o juízo executado prontamente sobre ele, seja ele para a morte, ou para o banimento, ou para o confisco de bens, ou para o aprisionamento.
27 Blessed be the Lord God of our fathers, which so hath put in the Kings heart, to beautifie the house of the Lord that is in Ierusalem,
27 Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus dos nossos pais, que tem posto tal coisa como esta no coração do rei, para embelezar a casa do SENHOR a qual está em Jerusalém;
28 And hath enclined mercy toward me, before the King and his counsellers, and before all the Kings mightie Princes: and I was comforted by the hand of the Lord my God which was vpon me, and I gathered the chiefe of Israel to goe vp with me.
28 e tem estendido misericórdia a mim diante do rei, e dos seus conselheiros, e diante de todos os príncipes poderosos do rei. E eu fui fortalecido à medida que a mão do SENHOR meu Deus esteve sobre mim, e eu reuni de Israel chefes para subirem comigo.
