1 Then Moses called all Israiel, and saide vnto them, Heare, O Israel, the ordinances and the lawes which I propose to you this day, that yee may learne them, and take heede to obserue them.
1 E Moisés convocou todo Israel, e lhes disse: Ouvi, ó Israel, os estatutos e os juízos que digo aos seus ouvidos hoje, para que os aprendais e guardais e cumprais.
2 The Lord our God made a couenant with vs in Horeb.
2 O SENHOR nosso Deus fez conosco um pacto, em Horebe.
3 The Lord made not this couenant with our fathers onely, but with vs, euen with vs all here aliue this day.
3 O SENHOR não fez este pacto com os nossos pais, mas conosco, todos os que hoje estamos aqui vivos.
4 The Lord talked with you face to face in the Mount, out of the middes of the fire.
4 O SENHOR conversou convosco face a face, no meio do fogo,
5 (At that time I stoode betweene the Lord and you, to declare vnto you ye word of the Lord: for ye were afraid at the sight of the fire, and went not vp into the mount, and he said,
5 (naquele tempo eu estava em pé entre o SENHOR e vós, para mostrar a palavra do SENHOR, porque tivestes medo por causa do fogo, e não subistes ao monte), dizendo:
6 I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the lande of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
6 Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, da casa de servidão.
7 Thou shalt haue none other gods before my face.
7 Não terás outros deuses diante de mim.
8 Thou shalt make thee no grauen image or any likenesse of that that is in heauen aboue, or which is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters vnder the earth.
8 Não farás para ti nenhuma imagem de escultura, nem alguma semelhança de alguma coisa que há acima no céu, ou embaixo na terra, ou nas águas debaixo da terra;
9 Thou shalt neither bowe thy selfe vnto them, nor serue them: for I the Lord thy God am a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, euen vnto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:
9 não te prostrarás diante deles, nem os servirá; porque eu, o SENHOR teu Deus, sou Deus ciumento, que visito a iniquidade dos pais sobre os filhos, até a terceira e quarta geração dos que me odeiam,
10 And shewing mercie vnto thousandes of them that loue me, and keepe my commandements.
10 e que mostro misericórdia a milhares dos que me amam e guardam os meus mandamentos.
11 Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not holde him giltlesse that taketh his Name in vaine.
11 Não tomarás o nome do SENHOR teu Deus em vão, porque o SENHOR não considerará inocente ao que tomar o seu nome em vão.
12 Keepe the Sabbath day, to sanctifie it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.
12 Guardarás o dia do shabat para santificá-lo, como o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou.
13 Sixe dayes thou shalt labour, and shalt doe all thy worke:
13 Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda a tua obra.
14 But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not doe any worke therein, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, nor thy man seruant, nor thy mayd, nor thine oxe, nor thine asse, neither any of thy cattel, nor the stranger that is within thy gates: that thy man seruant and thy mayde may rest aswell as thou.
14 Mas o sétimo dia é o dia do shabat do SENHOR teu Deus; nele não farás nenhum trabalho, tu, nem o teu filho, nem a tua filha, nem o teu servo, nem a tua serva, nem os teus bois, ou os teus jumentos, nem algum dos teus animais, nem o estrangeiro que estiver dentro de tuas portas; para que o teu servo e a tua serva possam descansar como tu.
15 For, remember that thou wast a seruant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence by a mightie hand and a stretched out arme: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to obserue the Sabbath day.
15 E lembra-te de que foste servo na terra do Egito, e que o SENHOR teu Deus te tirou dali com mão forte e braço estendido; portanto o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou que guardasses o dia do shabat.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath comanded thee, that thy dayes may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
16 Honrarás a teu pai e a tua mãe, como o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou, para que se prolonguem os teus dias e para que tudo te vá bem na terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
17 Não assassinarás.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adulterie.
18 Nem cometerás adultério.
19 Neither shalt thou steale.
19 Nem furtarás.
20 Neither shalt thou beare false witnesse against thy neighbour.
20 Nem dirás falso testemunho contra o teu próximo.
21 Neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, neither shalt thou desire thy neighbours house, his fielde, nor his man seruant, nor his mayd, his oxe, nor his asse, nor ought that thy neighbour hath.
21 Nem cobiçarás a mulher do teu próximo, nem desejarás a casa do teu próximo, o seu campo, ou o seu servo, ou a sua serva, ou o seu boi, ou o seu jumento, ou coisa alguma que seja do teu próximo.
22 These wordes the Lord spake vnto all your multitude in the mount out of the mids of the fire, the cloude and the darkenes, with a great voyce, and added no more thereto: and wrote them vpon two tables of stone, and deliuered them vnto me.
22 Estas palavras o SENHOR falou a toda a vossa assembleia no monte, do meio do fogo, da nuvem e da espessa escuridão, com grande voz, e nada mais acrescentou; e as escreveu em duas tábuas de pedra e as entregou a mim.
23 And when ye heard the voyce out of the middes of the darkenes, (for the mountaine did burne with fire) then ye came to me, all the chiefe of your tribes, and your Elders:
23 E aconteceu que, quando ouvistes a voz do meio das trevas (pois o monte ardeu em fogo), vos aproximastes de mim, e todos os cabeças das vossas tribos e os vossos anciãos;
24 And ye sayd, Beholde, the Lord our God hath shewed vs his glory and his greatnes, and we haue heard his voyce out of the middes of the fire: we haue seene this day that God doeth talke with man, and he liueth.
24 e dissestes: Eis que o SENHOR nosso Deus, nos mostrou a sua glória e a sua grandeza, e ouvimos a sua voz do meio do fogo; hoje vimos que Deus fala com o homem, e ele vive.
25 Now therefore, why should we dye? for this great fire wil consume vs: if we heare ye voyce of the Lord our God any more, we shall dye.
25 Agora, portanto, por que morreríamos? Pois este grande fogo nos consumirá; se ouvirmos mais a voz do SENHOR nosso Deus, então morreremos.
26 For what flesh was there euer, that heard the voyce of the liuing God speaking out of the middes of the fire as we haue, and liued?
26 Pois quem há de toda a carne, que ouviu a voz do Deus vivente falando do meio do fogo, como nós ouvimos e viveu?
27 Go thou neere and heare all that the Lord our God saith: and declare thou vnto vs all that the Lord our God saith vnto thee, and we will heare it, and doe it.
27 Aproxima-te tu, e ouve tudo o que o SENHOR nosso Deus te falar; e tu nos dirás tudo o que o SENHOR nosso Deus te falar, e o ouviremos e o faremos.
28 Then the Lord heard the voyce of your wordes, when ye spake vnto me: and the Lord sayd vnto me, I haue heard the voyce of ye wordes of this people, which they haue spoken vnto thee: they haue well sayd, all that they haue spoken.
28 E o SENHOR ouviu a voz das tuas palavras, quando me falaste; e o SENHOR me falou: Eu ouvi a voz das palavras deste povo, que eles disseram a ti; tudo o que eles disseram falaram bem.
29 Oh that there were such an heart in them to feare me, and to keepe all my commandements alway: that it might go well with them, and with their children for euer.
29 Oh, se houvesse neles um coração, de modo que me temessem, e guardassem sempre os meus mandamentos, de modo que tudo lhes fosse bem, e com seus filhos, para sempre!
30 Go, say vnto them, Returne you into your tentes.
30 Vai dizer a eles: Entrai outra vez em vossas tendas.
31 But stand thou here with me, and I wil tell thee all the commandements, and the ordinances, and the lawes, which thou shalt teach them: that they may doe them in the land which I giue them to possesse it.
31 Mas quanto a ti, fica aqui comigo, e te falarei todos os mandamentos, e os estatutos, e os juízos, que ensinarás a eles, para que possam cumpri-los na terra que lhes darei como possessão.
32 Take heede therefore, that ye doe as the Lord your God hath commanded you: turne not aside to the right hand nor to the left,
32 Portanto, observe e faça como o SENHOR teu Deus vos ordenou; não vos desvieis para a direita, ou para a esquerda.
33 But walke in all the wayes which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may liue, and that it may goe well with you: and that ye may prolong your dayes in the land which ye shall possesse.
33 Andareis em todo o caminho que vos mandou o SENHOR vosso Deus, para que vivais, e tudo vá bem convosco, e para que prolongueis os vossos dias na terra que possuíres.
