1 Therefore thou shalt loue the Lord thy God, and shalt keepe that, which he commandeth to be kept: that is, his ordinances, and his lawes, and his commandements alway.
1 Amarás, pois, ao SENHOR teu Deus, e guardarás as suas ordenanças, e os seus estatutos, e os seus juízos, e os seus mandamentos, todos os dias.
2 And consider this day (for I speake not to your children, which haue neither knowen nor seene) the chastisement of the Lord your God, his greatnesse, his mighty hande, and his stretched out arme,
2 E hoje sabereis que falo, não com vossos filhos, que o não sabem, e não viram a instrução do Senhor vosso Deus, a sua grandeza, a sua mão forte, e o seu braço estendido;
3 And his signes, and his actes, which hee did in the middes of Egypt vnto Pharaoh the King of Egypt and vnto all his land:
3 Nem tampouco os seus sinais, nem os seus feitos, que fez no meio do Egito a Faraó, rei do Egito, e a toda a sua terra;
4 And what he did vnto the hoste of the Egyptians, vnto their horses, and to their charets, when he caused the waters of the red Sea to ouerflowe them, as they pursued after you, and the Lord destroied them vnto this day:
4 Nem o que fez ao exército dos egípcios, aos seus cavalos e aos seus carros, fazendo passar sobre eles as águas do Mar Vermelho quando vos perseguiam, e como o Senhor os destruiu, até ao dia de hoje;
5 And what he did vnto you in the wildernesse, vntill yee came vnto this place:
5 Nem o que vos fez no deserto, até que chegastes a este lugar;
6 And what he did vnto Dathan and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab ye sonne of Reuben, when the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them with their housholds and their tents, and all their substance that they had in the middes of al Israel.
6 E o que fez a Datã e a Abirão, filhos de Eliabe, filho de Rúben; como a terra abriu a sua boca e os tragou com as suas casas e com as suas tendas, como também tudo o que subsistia, e lhes pertencia, no meio de todo o Israel;
7 For your eyes haue seene all the great actes of the Lord which he did.
7 Porquanto os vossos olhos são os que viram toda a grande obra que fez o Senhor.
8 Therefore shall ye keepe all the commandements, which I commaund you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possesse the land whither ye goe to possesse it:
8 Guardai, pois, todos os mandamentos que eu vos ordeno hoje, para que sejais fortes, e entreis, e ocupeis a terra que passais a possuir;
9 Also that ye may prolong your daies in the land, which the Lord sware vnto your fathers, to giue vnto them and to their seede, euen a lande that floweth with milke and honie.
9 E para que prolongueis os dias na terra que o Senhor jurou dar a vossos pais e à sua descendência, terra que mana leite e mel.
10 For the land whither thou goest to possesse it, is not as the lande of Egypt, from whence ye came, where thou sowedst thy seede, and wateredst it with thy feete as a garden of herbes:
10 Porque a terra que passas a possuir não é como a terra do Egito, de onde saíste, em que semeavas a tua semente, e a regavas com o teu pé, como a uma horta.
11 But the land whither ye goe to possesse it, is a land of mountaines and valleis, and drinketh water of the raine of heauen.
11 Mas a terra que passais a possuir é terra de montes e de vales; da chuva dos céus beberá as águas;
12 This land doth the Lord thy God care for: the eies of the Lord thy God are alwaies vpon it, from the beginning of the yeere, euen vnto the ende of the yeere.
12 Terra de que o Senhor teu Deus tem cuidado; os olhos do Senhor teu Deus estão sobre ela continuamente, desde o princípio até ao fim do ano.
13 If yee shall hearken therefore vnto my commandements, which I commaund you this day, that yee loue the Lord your God and serue him with all your heart, and with all your soule,
13 E será que, se diligentemente obedecerdes a meus mandamentos que hoje vos ordeno, de amar ao Senhor vosso Deus, e de o servir de todo o vosso coração e de toda a vossa alma,
14 I also wil giue raine vnto your land in due time, the first raine and the latter, that thou maist gather in thy wheat, and thy wine, and thine oyle.
14 Então darei a chuva da vossa terra a seu tempo, a temporã e a serôdia, para que recolhais o vosso grão, e o vosso mosto e o vosso azeite.
15 Also I will send grasse in thy fieldes, for thy cattel, that thou maist eate, and haue inough.
15 E darei erva no teu campo aos teus animais, e comerás, e fartar-te-ás.
16 But beware lest your heart deceiue you, and lest yee turne aside, and serue other gods, and worship them,
16 Guardai-vos, que o vosso coração não se engane, e vos desvieis, e sirvais a outros deuses, e vos inclineis perante eles;
17 And so the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and he shut vp the heauen, that there be no raine, and that your lande yeelde not her fruit, and yee perish quickly from the good land, which the Lord giueth you.
17 E a ira do Senhor se acenda contra vós, e feche ele os céus, e não haja água, e a terra não dê o seu fruto, e cedo pereçais da boa terra que o Senhor vos dá.
18 Therefore shall ye lay vp these my words in your heart and in your soule, and binde them for a signe vpon your hand, that they may be as a frontlet betweene your eyes,
18 Ponde, pois, estas minhas palavras no vosso coração e na vossa alma, e atai-as por sinal na vossa mão, para que estejam por frontais entre os vossos olhos.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them, whe thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp.
19 E ensinai-as a vossos filhos, falando delas assentado em tua casa, e andando pelo caminho, e deitando-te, e levantando-te;
20 And thou shalt write them vpon the postes of thine house, and vpon thy gates,
20 E escreve-as nos umbrais de tua casa, e nas tuas portas;
21 That your daies may be multiplied, and the daies of your children, in ye land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers to giue them, as long as the heauens are aboue the earth.
21 Para que se multipliquem os vossos dias e os dias de vossos filhos na terra que o Senhor jurou a vossos pais dar-lhes, como os dias dos céus sobre a terra.
22 For if ye keepe diligently all these commandements, which I command you to doe: that is, to loue the Lord your God, to walke in all his waies, and to cleaue vnto him,
22 Porque se diligentemente guardardes todos estes mandamentos, que vos ordeno para os guardardes, amando ao Senhor vosso Deus, andando em todos os seus caminhos, e a ele vos achegardes,
23 Then will the Lord cast out all these nations before you, and ye shall possesse great nations and mightier then you.
23 Também o Senhor, de diante de vós, lançará fora todas estas nações, e possuireis nações maiores e mais poderosas do que vós.
24 All the places whereon the soles of your feete shall tread, shalbe yours: your coast shalbe from the wildernes and from Lebanon, and from the Riuer, euen the riuer Perath, vnto ye vttermost Sea.
24 Todo o lugar que pisar a planta do vosso pé será vosso; desde o deserto, e desde o Líbano, desde o rio, o rio Eufrates, até ao mar ocidental, será o vosso termo.
25 No man shall stande against you: for the Lord your God shall cast the feare and dread of you vpon all the land that ye shall treade vpon, as he hath said vnto you.
25 Ninguém resistirá diante de vós; o Senhor vosso Deus porá sobre toda a terra, que pisardes, o vosso terror e o temor de vós, como já vos tem dito.
26 Beholde, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:
26 Eis que hoje eu ponho diante de vós a bênção e a maldição;
27 The blessing, if ye obey the commandements of the Lord your God which I command you this day:
27 A bênção, quando cumprirdes os mandamentos do Senhor vosso Deus, que hoje vos mando;
28 And ye curse, if ye wil not obey the commandements of the Lord your God, but turne out of the way, which I commande you this day, to go after other gods, which ye haue not knowen.
28 Porém a maldição, se não cumprirdes os mandamentos do Senhor vosso Deus, e vos desviardes do caminho que hoje vos ordeno, para seguirdes outros deuses que não conhecestes.
29 When the Lord thy God therefore hath brought thee into ye lande, whither thou goest to possesse it, then thou shalt put the blessing vpon mount Gerizim, and the curse vpon mount Ebal.
29 E será que, quando o Senhor teu Deus te introduzir na terra, a que vais para possuí-la, então pronunciarás a bênção sobre o monte Gerizim, e a maldição sobre o monte Ebal.
30 Are they not beyond Iorden on that part, where the sunne goeth downe in the land of the Canaanites, which dwel in the plaine ouer against Gilgal, beside the groue of Moreh?
30 Porventura não estão eles além do Jordão, junto ao caminho do pôr do sol, na terra dos cananeus, que habitam na campina defronte de Gilgal, junto aos carvalhais de Moré?
31 For yee shall passe ouer Iorden, to goe in to possesse the land, which ye Lord your God giueth you, and ye shall possesse it, and dwell therein.
31 Porque passareis o Jordão para entrardes a possuir a terra, que vos dá o Senhor vosso Deus; e a possuireis, e nela habitareis.
32 Take heede therefore that ye doe all the commandements and the lawes, which I set before you this day.
32 Tende, pois, cuidado em cumprir todos os estatutos e os juízos, que eu hoje vos proponho.
