1 Ye masters, doe vnto your seruants, that which is iust, and equall, knowing that ye also haue a master in heauen.
1 Senhores, tratai os servos com justiça e com equidade, certos de que também vós tendes Senhor no céu.
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the fame with thankesgiuing,
2 Perseverai na oração, vigiando com ações de graças.
3 Praying also for vs, that God may open vnto vs the doore of vtterance, to speake ye mysterie of Christ: wherefore I am also in bonds,
3 Suplicai, ao mesmo tempo, também por nós, para que Deus nos abra porta à palavra, a fim de falarmos do mistério de Cristo, pelo qual também estou algemado;
4 That I may vtter it, as it becommeth mee to speake.
4 para que eu o manifeste, como devo fazer.
5 Walke wisely towarde them that are without, and redeeme the season.
5 Portai-vos com sabedoria para com os que são de fora; aproveitai as oportunidades.
6 Let your speach be gracious alwayes, and powdred with salt, that ye may know how to answere euery man.
6 A vossa palavra seja sempre agradável, temperada com sal, para saberdes como deveis responder a cada um.
7 Tychicus our beloued brother and faithfull minister, and fellow seruant in the Lord, shall declare vnto you my whole state:
7 Quanto à minha situação, Tíquico, irmão amado, e fiel ministro, e conservo no Senhor, de tudo vos informará.
8 Whom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose that he might know your state, and might comfort your hearts,
8 Eu vo-lo envio com o expresso propósito de vos dar conhecimento da nossa situação e de alentar o vosso coração.
9 With Onesimus a faithfull and a beloued brother, who is one of you. They shall shew you of all things here.
9 Em sua companhia, vos envio Onésimo, o fiel e amado irmão, que é do vosso meio. Eles vos farão saber tudo o que por aqui ocorre.
10 Aristarchus my prison fellow saluteth you, and Marcus, Barnabas cousin (touching whom ye receiued commandements. If he come vnto you, receiue him)
10 Saúda-vos Aristarco, prisioneiro comigo, e Marcos, primo de Barnabé (sobre quem recebestes instruções; se ele for ter convosco, acolhei-o),
11 And Iesus which is called Iustus, which are of the circumcision. These onely are my worke fellowes vnto the kingdome of God, which haue bene vnto my consolation.
11 e Jesus, conhecido por Justo, os quais são os únicos da circuncisão que cooperam pessoalmente comigo pelo reino de Deus. Eles têm sido o meu lenitivo.
12 Epaphras the seruant of Christ, which is one of you, saluteth you, and alwayes striueth for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect, and full in all the will of God.
12 Saúda-vos Epafras, que é dentre vós, servo de Cristo Jesus, o qual se esforça sobremaneira, continuamente, por vós nas orações, para que vos conserveis perfeitos e plenamente convictos em toda a vontade de Deus.
13 For I beare him record, that he hath a great zeale for you, and for them of Laodicea, and them of Hierapolis.
13 E dele dou testemunho de que muito se preocupa por vós, pelos de Laodiceia e pelos de Hierápolis.
14 Luke the beloued physician greeteth you, and Demas.
14 Saúda-vos Lucas, o médico amado, e também Demas.
15 Salute the brethren which are of Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the Church which is in his house.
15 Saudai os irmãos de Laodiceia, e Ninfa, e à igreja que ela hospeda em sua casa.
16 And when this Epistle is read of you, cause that it be read in the Church of the Laodiceans also, and that ye likewise reade the Epistle written from Laodicea.
16 E, uma vez lida esta epístola perante vós, providenciai por que seja também lida na igreja dos laodicenses; e a dos de Laodiceia, lede-a igualmente perante vós.
17 And say to Archippus, Take heede to the ministerie, that thou hast receiued in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.
17 Também dizei a Arquipo: atenta para o ministério que recebeste no Senhor, para o cumprires.
18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bands. Grace be with you, Amen. ‘Written from Rome to the Colossians, and sent by Tychicus, and Onesimus.’
18 A saudação é de próprio punho: Paulo. Lembrai-vos das minhas algemas. A graça seja convosco.
