1 And after these thinges, I sawe another Angel come downe from heauen, hauing great power, so that the earth was lightened with his glorie,
1 E, depois destas coisas, vi descer do céu outro anjo, que tinha grande poder, e a terra foi iluminada com a sua glória.
2 And he cryed out mightily with a loud voyce, saying, It is fallen, it is fallen, Babylon that great citie, and is become the habitation of deuils, and the holde of all foule spirits, and a cage of euery vncleane and hatefull birde.
2 E clamou fortemente com grande voz, dizendo: Caiu! Caiu a grande Babilônia e se tornou morada de demônios, e abrigo de todo espírito imundo, e refúgio de toda ave imunda e aborrecível!
3 For all nations haue drunken of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the Kings of the earth haue committed fornication with her, and the marchants of the earth are waxed rich of the abundance of her pleasures.
3 Porque todas as nações beberam do vinho da ira da sua prostituição. Os reis da terra se prostituíram com ela. E os mercadores da terra se enriqueceram com a abundância de suas delícias.
4 And I heard another voyce from heauen say, Goe out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sinnes, and that ye receiue not of her plagues.
4 E ouvi outra voz do céu, que dizia: Sai dela, povo meu, para que não sejas participante dos seus pecados e para que não incorras nas suas pragas.
5 For her sinnes are come vp into heauen, and God hath remembred her iniquities.
5 Porque já os seus pecados se acumularam até ao céu, e Deus se lembrou das iniquidades dela.
6 Rewarde her, euen as she hath rewarded you, and giue her double according to her workes: and in the cup that she hath filled to you, fill her ye double.
6 Tornai-lhe a dar como ela vos tem dado e retribuí-lhe em dobro conforme as suas obras; no cálice em que vos deu de beber, dai-lhe a ela em dobro.
7 In as much as she glorified her selfe, and liued in pleasure, so much giue ye to her torment and sorow: for she saith in her heart, I sit being a queene, and am no widowe, and shall see no mourning.
7 Quanto ela se glorificou e em delícias esteve, foi-lhe outro tanto de tormento e pranto, porque diz em seu coração: Estou assentada como rainha, não sou viúva e não verei o pranto.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come at one day, death, and sorowe, and famine, and she shalbe burnt with fire: for that God which condemneth her, is a strong Lord.
8 Portanto, num dia virão as suas pragas: a morte, e o pranto, e a fome; e será queimada no fogo, porque é forte o Senhor Deus, que a julga.
9 And the kings of the earth shall bewayle her, and lament for her, which haue committed fornication, and liued in pleasure with her, when they shall see that smoke of that her burning,
9 E os reis da terra, que se prostituíram com ela e viveram em delícias, a chorarão e sobre ela prantearão, quando virem a fumaça do seu incêndio.
10 And shall stand a farre off for feare of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great citie Babylon, that mightie citie: for in one houre is thy iudgement come.
10 Estarão de longe pelo temor do seu tormento, dizendo: Ai! Ai daquela grande Babilônia, aquela forte cidade! Pois numa hora veio o seu juízo.
11 And the marchants of the earth shall weepe and wayle ouer her: for no man byeth their ware any more.
11 E sobre ela choram e lamentam os mercadores da terra, porque ninguém mais compra as suas mercadorias:
12 The ware of golde, and siluer, and of precious stone, and of pearles, and of fine linnen, and of purple, and of silke, and of skarlet, and of all maner of Thyne wood, and of all vessels of yuorie, and of all vessels of most precious wood, and of brasse, and of yron, and of marble,
12 mercadorias de ouro, e de prata, e de pedras preciosas, e de pérolas, e de linho fino, e de púrpura, e de seda, e de escarlata; e toda madeira odorífera, e todo vaso de marfim, e todo vaso de madeira preciosíssima, de bronze e de ferro, e de mármore;
13 And of cinamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oyle, and fine floure, and wheate, and beastes, and sheepe, and horses, and charets, and seruants, and soules of men.
13 e cinamomo, e cardamomo, e perfume, e mirra, e incenso, e vinho, e azeite, e flor de farinha, e trigo, e cavalgaduras, e ovelhas; e mercadorias de cavalos, e de carros, e de corpos e de almas de homens.
14 (And the apples that thy soule lusted after, are departed from thee, and all things which were fatte and excellent, are departed from thee, and thou shalt finde them no more)
14 E o fruto do desejo da tua alma foi-se de ti, e todas as coisas gostosas e excelentes se foram de ti, e não mais as acharás.
15 The marchants of these thinges which were waxed riche, shall stand a farre off from her, for feare of her torment, weeping and wayling,
15 Os mercadores destas coisas, que com elas se enriqueceram, estarão de longe, pelo temor do seu tormento, chorando, e lamentando,
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great citie, that was clothed in fine linnen and purple, and skarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones, and pearles.
16 e dizendo: Ai! Ai daquela grande cidade, que estava vestida de linho fino, de púrpura, de escarlata, adornada com ouro e pedras preciosas e pérolas! Porque numa hora foram assoladas tantas riquezas.
17 For in one houre so great riches are come to desolation. And euery shipmaster, and all the people that occupie shippes, and shipmen, and whosoeuer traffike on the sea, shall stand a farre off,
17 E todo piloto, e todo o que navega em naus, e todo marinheiro, e todos os que negociam no mar se puseram de longe.
18 And crie, when they see that smoke of that her burning, saying, What citie was like vnto this great citie?
18 E, vendo a fumaça do seu incêndio, clamaram, dizendo: Que cidade é semelhante a esta grande cidade?
19 And they shall cast dust on their heads, and crie, weeping, and wayling, and say, Alas, alas, that great citie, wherein were made rich all that had ships on the sea by her costlinesse: for in one houre she is made desolate.
19 E lançaram pó sobre a cabeça e clamaram, chorando, e lamentando, e dizendo: Ai! Ai daquela grande cidade, na qual todos os que tinham naus no mar se enriqueceram em razão da sua opulência! Porque numa hora foi assolada.
20 O heauen, reioyce of her, and ye holy Apostles and Prophets: for God hath punished her to be reuenged on her for your sakes.
20 Alegra-te sobre ela, ó céu, e vós, santos apóstolos e profetas, porque já Deus julgou a vossa causa quanto a ela.
21 Then a mightie Angell tooke vp a stone like a great milstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, With such violence shall that great citie Babylon be cast, and shalbe found no more.
21 E um forte anjo levantou uma pedra como uma grande mó e lançou- a no mar, dizendo: Com igual ímpeto será lançada Babilônia, aquela grande cidade, e não será jamais achada.
22 And the voyce of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpetters shalbe heard no more in thee, and no craftesman, of whatsoeuer craft he be, shall be found any more in thee: and the sound of a milstone shalbe heard no more in thee.
22 E em ti não se ouvirá mais a voz de harpistas, e de músicos, e de flauteiros, e de trombeteiros, e nenhum artífice de arte alguma se achará mais em ti; e ruído de mó em ti se não ouvirá mais;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more in thee: and the voyce of the bridegrome and of the bride shalbe heard no more in thee: for thy marchants were the great men of the earth: and with thine inchantments were deceiued all nations.
23 e luz de candeia não mais luzirá em ti, e voz de esposo e de esposa não mais em ti se ouvirá; porque os teus mercadores eram os grandes da terra; porque todas as nações foram enganadas pelas tuas feitiçarias.
24 And in her was found the blood of the Prophets, and of the Saints, and of all that were slaine vpon the earth.
24 E nela se achou o sangue dos profetas, e dos santos, e de todos os que foram mortos na terra.
