1 And there appeared a great wonder in heauen: A woman clothed with the sunne, and the moone was vnder her feete, and vpon her head a crowne of twelue starres.
1 Então apareceu no céu um grande e misterioso sinal. Era uma mulher. O seu vestido era o sol, debaixo dos seus pés estava a lua, e ela usava na cabeça uma coroa que tinha doze estrelas.
2 And she was with childe, and cried traueiling in birth, and was pained readie to be deliuered.
2 A mulher estava grávida e gritava com dores de parto.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaue: for beholde, a great red dragon hauing seuen heads, and ten hornes, and seuen crownes vpon his heads:
3 E apareceu no céu outro sinal: era um enorme dragão vermelho com sete cabeças e dez chifres e com uma coroa em cada cabeça.
4 And his taile drew the thirde part of the starres of heauen, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman, which was ready to be deliuered, to deuoure her childe, when shee had brought it foorth.
4 Com a cauda ele arrastou do céu a terça parte das estrelas e as jogou sobre a terra. Depois parou diante da mulher grávida a fim de comer a criança logo que ela nascesse.
5 So shee brought foorth a man childe, which should rule all nations with a rod of yron: and that her childe was taken vp vnto God and to his throne.
5 Então a mulher deu à luz um filho, que governará todas as nações com uma barra de ferro. Mas a criança foi tirada e levada para perto de Deus e do seu trono.
6 And the woman fled into wildernes where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feede her there a thousande, two hundreth and three score dayes.
6 A mulher fugiu para o deserto, onde Deus havia preparado um lugar para ela. Ali ela será sustentada durante mil duzentos e sessenta dias.
7 And there was a battell in heauen, Michael and his Angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels.
7 Depois houve guerra no céu. Miguel e os seus anjos lutaram contra o dragão, que combateu junto com os seus anjos.
8 But they preuailed not, neither was their place found any more in heauen.
8 Mas o dragão foi vencido, e por isso ele e os seus anjos não puderam mais ficar no céu.
9 And the great dragon, that olde serpent, called the deuil and Satan, was cast out, which deceiueth all the world: he was euen cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
9 O enorme dragão foi lançado fora do céu. Ele é aquela velha cobra, chamada Diabo ou Satanás, que leva todas as pessoas do mundo a pecar. Ele foi jogado sobre a terra, e os seus anjos também foram jogados junto com ele.
10 Then I heard a loude voyce in heauen, saying, Now is saluation, and strength, and the kingdome of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast downe, which accused them before our God day and night.
10 Então ouvi uma voz forte no céu, que dizia: — Agora chegou a salvação de Deus! Agora Deus mostrou o seu poder como rei! Agora o
11 But they ouercame him by that blood of that Lambe, and by that worde of their testimonie, and they loued not their liues vnto the death.
11 Os nossos irmãos o derrotaram por meio do sangue do Cordeiro e da mensagem que anunciaram. Eles estavam prontos para dar a sua vida e morrer.
12 Therefore reioyce, ye heauens, and ye that dwell in them. Wo to the inhabitants of the earth, and of the sea: for the deuill is come downe vnto you, which hath great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.
12 Portanto, ó céu e todos vocês que vivem nele, alegrem-se! Mas ai da terra e do mar! Pois o Diabo desceu até vocês e ele está muito furioso porque sabe que tem somente um pouco mais de tempo para agir.
13 And when the dragon sawe that hee was cast vnto the earth, he persecuted the woman which had brought forth the man childe.
13 Quando o dragão viu que tinha sido jogado sobre a terra, começou a perseguir a mulher que tinha dado à luz o menino.
14 But to the woman were giuen two wings of a great eagle, that she might flie into the wildernes, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and halfe a time, from the presence of the serpent.
14 Porém a mulher recebeu as duas asas de uma grande águia para poder voar para o seu lugar no deserto, onde ela será sustentada durante três anos e meio , livre do ataque do dragão.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water after the woman, like a flood, that he might cause her to be caried away of the flood.
15 Então o dragão lançou água da sua boca, como se fosse um rio, atrás da mulher, para que ela fosse arrastada pelas águas.
16 But the earth holpe the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed vp the flood, which the dragon had cast out of his mouth.
16 Mas a terra ajudou a mulher, pois a própria terra abriu a boca e engoliu a água que tinha saído da boca do dragão.
17 Then the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went and made warre with the remnant of her seede, which keepe the comaundements of God, and haue the testimonie of Iesus Christ.
17 O dragão ficou furioso com a mulher e foi combater contra o resto dos descendentes dela, isto é, aqueles que obedecem aos mandamentos de Deus e são fiéis à verdade revelada por Jesus.
18 And I stood on the sea sand.
18 E o dragão ficou de pé na praia.
