1 Bvt there were false prophets also among the people, euen as there shalbe false teachers among you: which priuily shall bring in damnable heresies, euen denying the Lord, that hath bought them, and bring vpon themselues swift damnation.
1 No passado apareceram falsos profetas no meio do povo, e assim também vão aparecer falsos mestres entre vocês. Eles ensinarão doutrinas destruidoras e falsas e rejeitarão o Mestre que os salvou. E isso fará com que caia sobre eles uma rápida destruição.
2 And many shall follow their destructions, by whom the way of trueth shalbe euil spoken of,
2 Mesmo assim, muita gente vai imitar a vida imoral deles, e por causa desses falsos mestres muitas pessoas vão falar mal do Caminho da verdade.
3 And through couetousnes shall they with fained words make marchandise of you, whose condemnation long since resteth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.
3 Em sua ambição pelo dinheiro, esses falsos mestres vão explorar vocês, contando histórias inventadas. Mas faz muito tempo que o Juiz está alerta, e o Destruidor deles está bem acordado.
4 For if God spared not the Angels that had sinned, but cast them downe into hell, and deliuered them into chaines of darkenes, to be kept vnto damnation:
4 Pois Deus não deixou escapar os anjos que pecaram, mas os jogou no inferno e os deixou presos com correntes na escuridão, esperando o Dia do Julgamento.
5 Neither hath spared the olde worlde, but saued Noe the eight person a preacher of righteousnesse, and brought in the flood vpon the world of the vngodly,
5 Deus não deixou escapar o mundo antigo, mas trouxe o dilúvio sobre o mundo dos que não queriam saber de Deus. A única pessoa que ele salvou foi Noé, que anunciou que todos deviam obedecer a Deus. E Deus também salvou mais outras sete pessoas.
6 And turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrhe into ashes, condemned them and ouerthrewe them, and made them an ensample vnto them that after should liue vngodly,
6 Deus condenou as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorra, destruindo-as com fogo, como exemplo do que vai acontecer com os que não querem saber dele.
7 And deliuered iust Loth vexed with the vncleanly conuersation of the wicked:
7 Ele salvou Ló, um homem bom, que estava aflito porque conhecia a vida daquela gente imoral.
8 (For he being righteous, and dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soule from day to day with their vnlawfull deedes.)
8 Todos os dias esse homem bom, que vivia entre eles, ficava muito agoniado ao ver e ouvir as coisas más que aquela gente fazia.
9 The Lord knoweth to deliuer the godly out of tentation, and to reserue the vniust vnto the day of iudgement vnder punishment.
9 Tudo isso nos mostra que o Senhor sabe como livrar das aflições as pessoas dedicadas a ele e também sabe como guardar os maus debaixo de castigo para o Dia do Julgamento.
10 And chiefly them that walke after the flesh, in the lust of vncleannesse, and despise gouernement, which are bolde, and stand in their owne conceite, and feare not to speake euill of them that are in dignitie.
10 Ele castigará especialmente os que seguem os seus próprios desejos imorais e desprezam a autoridade dele. Esses falsos mestres são atrevidos e orgulhosos. Eles não têm nenhum respeito pelos
11 Where as the Angels which are greater both in power and might, giue not railing iudgement against them before the Lord.
11 Ora, até mesmo os anjos, sendo muito mais fortes e poderosos do que esses falsos mestres, não os acusam com insultos na presença do Senhor.
12 But these, as naturall brute beasts, led with sensualitie and made to be taken, and destroyed, speake euill of those things which they know not, and shall perish through their owne corruption,
12 Mas esses homens agem por instinto, como os animais selvagens, que nascem para serem caçados e mortos. Eles xingam aquilo que não entendem. Por tudo isso eles serão destruídos como animais selvagens
13 And shall receiue the wages of vnrighteousnes, as they which count it pleasure dayly to liue deliciously. Spottes they are and blottes, deliting them selues in their deceiuings, in feasting with you,
13 e pagarão com sofrimento o sofrimento que causaram aos outros. Eles têm prazer em satisfazer em pleno dia os seus desejos imorais. Quando se reúnem com vocês, são uma vergonha e um escândalo, divertindo-se o tempo todo com os seus modos enganosos.
14 Hauing eyes full of adulterie, and that can not cease to sinne, beguiling vnstable soules: they haue heartes exercised with couetousnesse, they are the children of curse:
14 Não podem ver uma mulher sem a desejarem, e o seu apetite pelo pecado nunca fica satisfeito. Enganam as pessoas fracas e só pensam em ganhar dinheiro. Eles estão debaixo da maldição de Deus.
15 Which forsaking the right way, haue gone astray, folowing the way of Balaam, the sonne of Bosor, which loued the wages of vnrighteousnes.
15 Andam perdidos porque se desviaram do caminho certo. Seguem o caminho de Balaão, filho de Beor, que cobiçou o dinheiro que ia receber fazendo o mal
16 But he was rebuked for his iniquitie: for the dumme beast speaking with mans voyce, forbade the foolishnesse of the Prophet.
16 e foi repreendido por causa do seu pecado. Pois uma jumenta falou com voz humana e acabou com as loucuras do profeta.
17 These are welles without water, and cloudes caried about with a tempest, to whome the blacke darkenes is reserued for euer.
17 Esses falsos mestres são como poços sem água e como nuvens levadas pelo vento. Deus reservou para eles um lugar na mais profunda escuridão.
18 For in speaking swelling wordes of vanitie, they beguile with wantonnesse through the lusts of the flesh them that were cleane escaped from them which are wrapped in errour,
18 Eles dizem coisas orgulhosas e loucas e com os seus desejos impuros e imorais enganam as pessoas que estão quase escapando daqueles que vivem no erro.
19 Promising vnto them libertie, and are themselues the seruants of corruption: for of whomsoeuer a man is ouercome, euen vnto the same is he in bondage.
19 Prometem liberdade a essas pessoas, mas eles mesmos são escravos de hábitos imorais. Pois cada pessoa é escrava daquilo que a domina.
20 For if they, after they haue escaped from the filthinesse of the world, through the acknowledging of the Lord, and of the Sauiour Iesus Christ, are yet tangled againe therein, and ouercome, the latter ende is worse with them then the beginning.
20 Portanto, aqueles que chegaram a conhecer o nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo e que escaparam das imoralidades do mundo, mas depois foram agarrados e dominados por elas, ficam no fim em pior situação do que no começo.
21 For it had bene better for them, not to haue acknowledged the way of righteousnes, then after they haue acknowledged it, to turne from the holy commandement giuen vnto them.
21 Pois teria sido muito melhor que eles nunca tivessem conhecido o caminho certo do que, depois de o conhecerem, voltarem atrás e se afastarem do mandamento sagrado que receberam.
22 But it is come vnto them, according to the true Prouerbe, The dogge is returned to his owne vomit: and, The sowe that was washed, to the wallowing in the myre.
22 O que aconteceu a essas pessoas prova que são verdadeiros estes ditados: “O cachorro volta ao seu próprio vômito” e “A porca lavada volta a rolar na lama.”
