¹ Then Salomon sayd, The Lord hath sayde that he would dwell in the darke cloude:

¹ Então falou Salomão: O SENHOR tem dito que ele habitaria na profunda escuridão.

² And I haue built thee an house to dwell in, an habitation for thee to dwell in for euer.

² Eu, porém, edifiquei uma casa de habitação para ti, e um lugar para a tua eterna morada.

³ And the King turned his face, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel (for all the Congregation of Israel stoode there)

³ E o rei virou a sua face, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel, e toda a congregação de Israel estava em pé.

⁴ And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spake with his mouth vnto Dauid my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

⁴ E ele disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, que com as suas mãos, cumpriu aquilo que ele falou com a sua boca ao meu pai Davi, dizendo:

⁵ Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no citie of al the tribes of Israel to buylde an house, that my Name might be there, neyther chose I any man to be a ruler ouer my people Israel:

⁵ Desde o dia em que eu retirei o meu povo da terra do Egito eu não escolhi cidade alguma dentre todas as tribos de Israel para nela edificar uma casa, para que o meu nome pudesse ali estar; tampouco escolhi homem algum para ser soberano sobre o meu povo, Israel;

⁶ But I haue chosen Ierusalem, that my Name might be there, and haue chosen Dauid to be ouer my people Israel.

⁶ mas escolhi Jerusalém, para que o meu nome pudesse estar ali; e escolhi Davi para estar sobre o meu povo, Israel.

⁷ And it was in the heart of Dauid my father to builde an house vnto the Name of the Lord God of Israel,

⁷ Ora, estava no coração de Davi, o meu pai, edificar uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

⁸ But the Lord sayde to Dauid my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to buylde an house vnto my Name, thou diddest well, that thou wast so minded.

⁸ Porém, o SENHOR disse a Davi, o meu pai: Porquanto estava no teu coração edificar uma casa para o meu nome, fizeste bem em teres isto no teu coração.

⁹ Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne which shall come out of thy loynes, he shall buylde an house vnto my Name.

⁹ Todavia não edificarás a casa; mas o teu filho que sairá dos teus lombos, ele edificará a casa para o meu nome.

¹⁰ And the Lord hath performed his worde that he spake: and I am risen vp in the roume of Dauid my father, and am set on the throne of Israel as the Lord promised, and haue built an house to the Name of the Lord God of Israel.

¹⁰ Portanto, o SENHOR cumpriu a palavra que falou; porque estou levantado no lugar de Davi, o meu pai, e estou posto no trono de Israel, como o SENHOR prometeu, e edifiquei a casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹¹ And I haue set the Arke there, wherein is the couenant of the Lord, that he made with the children of Israel.

¹¹ E nela pus a arca, na qual está o pacto do SENHOR, que ele fez com os filhos de Israel.

¹² And the King stoode before the altar of the Lord, in the presence of all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands,

¹² E pôs-se em pé diante do altar do SENHOR na presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos;

¹³ (For Salomon had made a brasen skaffold and set it in the middes of the court, of fiue cubites long, and fiue cubites broade, and three cubites of height, and vpon it he stoode, and kneeled downe vpon his knees before all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands toward heauen)

¹³ porque Salomão havia feito uma plataforma de bronze, de cinco côvados de comprimento, e cinco côvados de largura, e três côvados de altura, e a havia posto no meio do átrio; e pôs-se em pé sobre ela, e ajoelhou-se diante de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos em direção ao céu,

¹⁴ And sayd, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heauen nor in earth, which keepest couenant, and mercie vnto thy seruants, that walke before thee with all their heart.

¹⁴ e ele disse: Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu no céu nem na terra, que guarda o pacto e demonstra misericórdia para com os teus servos que andam diante de ti de todo o seu coração.

¹⁵ Thou that hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him: for thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as appeareth this day.

¹⁵ Tu que tens guardado com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que lhe prometeste; e falaste com a tua boca, e o cumpriste com a tua mão, como é neste dia.

¹⁶ Therefore now Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him, saying, Thou shalt not want a man in my sight, that shall sit vpon the throne of Israel: so that thy sonnes take heede to their wayes, to walke in my Lawe, as thou hast walked before me.

¹⁶ Agora, portanto, Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, guarda com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que tu lhe prometeste, dizendo: Não te faltará um homem diante de mim, para se assentar no trono de Israel; de modo que os teus filhos atentem ao seu caminho para andarem na minha lei, como tu andastes diante de mim.

¹⁷ And now, O Lord God of Israel, let thy worde be verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid.

¹⁷ Agora, pois, ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra, a qual falaste ao teu servo Davi.

¹⁸ (Is it true in deede that God will dwell with man on earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: how much more vnable is this house, which I haue buylt?)

¹⁸ Mas, verdadeiramente habitará Deus, com os homens na terra? Eis que o céu e o céu dos céus não são capazes de te conter; quanto menos esta casa que eu construí!

¹⁹ But haue thou respect to the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to heare the crye and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee,

¹⁹ Tem consideração, portanto, pela oração do teu servo, e pela sua súplica, ó SENHOR meu Deus, para atentares ao clamor e a oração, a qual o teu servo suplica diante de ti;

²⁰ That thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, euen toward the place, whereof thou hast sayde, that thou wouldest put thy Name there, that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer, which thy seruant prayeth in this place.

²⁰ para que os teus olhos possam estar abertos sobre esta casa dia e noite, sobre o lugar do qual disseste que ali colocarias o teu nome; para atentares à oração que o teu servo ora em direção a este lugar.

²¹ Heare thou therefore the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which they pray in this place: and heare thou in the place of thine habitation, euen in heauen, and when thou hearest, be mercifull.

²¹ Ouve, portanto, as súplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo, Israel, as quais eles farão em direção a este lugar; ouve do lugar da tua habitação, a saber, do céu; e quando ouvires, perdoa.

²² When a man shall sinne against his neighbour, and he laye vpon him an othe to cause him to sweare, and the swearer shall come before thine altar in this house,

²² Se um homem pecar contra o seu próximo, e sobre ele lançado um juramento para fazê-lo jurar, e o juramento chegar diante do teu altar nesta casa;

²³ Then heare thou in heauen, and doe, and iudge thy seruants, in recompensing the wicked to bring his way vpon his head, and in iustifying the righteous, to giue him according to his righteousnes.

²³ ouve do céu, e faz, e julga os teus servos, condenando ao ímpio, para fazeres recair o seu proceder sobre a sua própria cabeça, e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.

²⁴ And when thy people Israel shalbe ouerthrowen before the enemie, because they haue sinned against thee, and turne againe, and confesse thy Name, and pray, and make supplication before thee in this house,

²⁴ E se o teu povo, Israel, for derrotado diante do inimigo, por terem pecado contra ti; e se converterem e confessarem o teu nome e orarem e fizerem súplicas diante de ti nesta casa;

²⁵ Then heare thou in heauen, and be mercifull vnto the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the land which thou gauest to them and to their fathers.

²⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo, Israel, e traz-lhes de volta para a terra que tu deste a eles e a seus pais.

²⁶ When heauen shall be shut vp, and there shalbe no rayne, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them,

²⁶ Quando o céu estiver fechado, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti; todavia se eles orarem em direção a este lugar, e confessarem o teu nome, e se converterem do seu pecado, quando tu os afligires;

²⁷ Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught them the good way wherein they may walke) and giue rayne vpon thy lande, which thou hast giuen vnto thy people for an inheritance.

²⁷ então, ouve tu do céu, e perdoa o pecado dos teus servos, e do teu povo, Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho no qual eles devem caminhar; e envia chuva sobre a tua terra, a qual tens dado ao teu povo por herança.

²⁸ When there shalbe famine in the land, when there shalbe pestilence, blasting, or mildew, when there shall be grashopper, or caterpiller, when their enemie shall besiege them in the cities of their land, or any plague or any sickenesse,

²⁸ Se houver fome na terra, se houver peste, se houver crestamento ou mofo, locustas ou lagartas; se os seus inimigos os cercarem nas cidades da sua terra; qualquer que seja a ferida, ou qualquer que seja a enfermidade que houver;

²⁹ Then what prayer and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, whe euery one shall knowe his owne plague, and his owne disease, and shall stretch forth his hands toward this house,

²⁹ então qualquer que seja a oração ou súplica que for feita por qualquer homem, ou de todo o teu povo Israel, quando cada um conhecer a sua própria ferida e a sua própria angústia, e estender as suas mãos nesta casa;

³⁰ Heare thou then in heauen, thy dwelling place, and be merciful, and giue euery man according vnto all his wayes, as thou doest knowe his heart (for thou onely knowest the hearts of the children of men)

³⁰ então, ouve tu do céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e perdoa, e concede a cada homem conforme todos os seus caminhos, cujo o coração tu conheces, (pois tu somente conheces os corações dos filhos dos homens),

³¹ That they may feare thee, and walke in thy wayes as long as they liue in the land which thou gauest vnto our fathers.

³¹ para que eles possam temer a ti, andando nos teus caminhos, enquanto viverem na terra que tu deste aos nossos pais.

³² Moreouer, as touching ye stranger which is not of thy people Israel, who shall come out of a farre countrey for thy great Names sake, and thy mighty hande, and thy stretched out arme: when they shall come and pray in this house,

³² Além disso, acerca do estrangeiro, o qual não é do teu povo, Israel, mas é chegado de terras distantes por causa do teu grande nome, e da tua forte mão, e do teu braço estendido; vindo eles e orando nesta casa;

³³ Heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and doe according to all that the stranger calleth for vnto thee, that all the people of the earth may knowe thy Name, and feare thee like thy people Israel, and that they may knowe, that thy Name is called vpon in this house which I haue built.

³³ ouve tu dos céus, do teu lugar de habitação, e faz segundo tudo o que o estrangeiro te clamar; para que todos os povos da terra possam conhecer o teu nome, e temer-te como faz o teu povo, Israel; e possam saber que essa casa, a qual edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

³⁴ When thy people shall goe out to battell against their enemies, by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to thee, in the way towarde this citie, which thou hast chosen, euen toward the house which I haue built to thy Name,

³⁴ Se o teu povo sair à guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que tu os enviares, e eles orarem a ti voltados para esta cidade que tu escolheste, e a casa que eu construí para o teu nome;

³⁵ Then heare thou in heauen their prayer and their supplication, and iudge their cause.

³⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica, e sustenta a sua causa.

³⁶ If they sinne against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not) and thou be angry with them and deliuer them vnto the enemies, and they take them and cary them away captiue vnto a land farre or neere,

³⁶ Se eles pecarem contra ti, (pois não há homem que não peque) e tu ficares irado com eles, e os entregares diante dos seus inimigos, e eles os levarem cativos para uma terra longínqua ou próxima;

³⁷ If they turne againe to their heart in the lande whither they be caryed in captiues, and turne and pray vnto thee in the lande of their captiuitie, saying, We haue sinned, we haue transgressed and haue done wickedly,

³⁷ e na terra, para onde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem e orarem a ti na terra do seu cativeiro, dizendo: Pecamos, fizemos o mal, e agimos impiamente;

³⁸ If they turne againe to thee with all their heart, and with all their soule in the land of their captiuitie, whither they haue caryed them captiues, and pray toward their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, and toward the citie which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I haue built for thy Name,

³⁸ se voltarem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma na terra do seu cativeiro, para a qual foram levados cativos, e orarem em direção à sua terra, a qual tu deste aos seus pais, e em direção à cidade que tu escolheste, e em direção à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome,

³⁹ Then heare thou in heauen, in the place of thine habitation their prayer and their supplication, and iudge their cause, and be mercifull vnto thy people, which haue sinned against thee.

³⁹ então, ouve dos céus, a saber, do teu local de habitação, as suas orações e as suas súplicas, e sustenta a sua causa, e perdoa o teu povo que pecou contra ti.

⁴⁰ Nowe my God, I beseech thee, let thine eyes be open, and thine eares attent vnto the prayer that is made in this place.

⁴⁰ Agora, Deus meu, suplico-te que estejam abertos os teus olhos, e que os teus ouvidos estejam atentos à oração que é feita neste lugar.

⁴¹ Nowe therefore arise, O Lord God, to come into thy rest, thou, and the Arke of thy strength: O Lord God, let thy Priestes be clothed with saluation, and let thy Saints reioyce in goodnesse.

⁴¹ Agora, portanto, levanta-te, ó SENHOR Deus, no teu lugar de repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza; que os teus sacerdotes, ó SENHOR Deus, sejam revestidos de salvação, e que os teus santos se regozijem em bondade.

⁴² O Lord God, refuse not the face of thine anoynted: remember the mercies promised to Dauid thy seruant.

⁴² Ó SENHOR Deus, não desvies a tua face dos teus ungidos; lembra-te das misericórdias de Davi, o teu servo.
