1 Moreouer Iosiah kept a Passeouer vnto the Lord in Ierusalem, and they slewe the Passeouer in the fourtenth day of the first moneth.
1 Josias celebrou a Páscoa ao Senhor , em Jerusalém, e eles mataram os cordeiros da Páscoa no décimo quarto dia do primeiro mês.
2 And he appointed the Priestes to their charges, and incouraged them to the seruice of the house of the Lord,
2 Josias estabeleceu os sacerdotes nos seus cargos e os animou a servirem na Casa do Senhor .
3 And he sayd vnto the Leuites that taught all Israel and were sanctified vnto the Lord, Put the holy Arke in the house which Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel did build: it shalbe no more a burden vpon your shoulders: serue now the Lord your God and his people Israel,
3 Disse aos levitas que ensinavam a todo o Israel e estavam consagrados ao Senhor : — Ponham a arca sagrada no templo que Salomão, filho de Davi, rei de Israel, construiu. Vocês não precisam mais carregá-la nos ombros. Agora sirvam ao
4 And prepare your selues by the houses of your fathers according to your courses, as Dauid the King of Israel hath written, and according to the writing of Salomon his sonne,
4 Preparem-se segundo as suas famílias, segundo os turnos de vocês, segundo a prescrição de Davi, rei de Israel, e a de Salomão, seu filho.
5 And stande in the Sanctuarie according to the deuision of the families of your brethren the children of the people, and after the deuision of the familie of the Leuites:
5 Ministrem no santuário segundo os grupos das famílias de seus irmãos, os filhos do povo; e que haja, para cada grupo, uma parte das famílias dos levitas.
6 So kill the Passeouer and sanctifie your selues, and prepare your brethren that they may doe according to the worde of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
6 Matem os cordeiros da Páscoa, santifiquem-se e façam preparativos para que os seus irmãos comemorem a Páscoa segundo a palavra do Senhor , dada por meio de Moisés.
7 Iosiah also gaue to the people sheepe, lambs and kiddes, all for the Passeouer, euen to all that were present, to the nomber of thirtie thousand, and three thousande bullocks: these were of the Kings substance.
7 Josias deu ao povo, para todos os que ali estavam, trinta mil cordeiros e cabritos do rebanho, todos para os sacrifícios da Páscoa, além de três mil bois. Tudo isto foi tirado dos bens do rei.
8 And his princes offred willingly vnto the people, to the Priests and to the Leuites: Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Iehiel, rulers of the house of God, gaue vnto the Priests for the Passeouer, euen two thousand and sixe hundreth sheepe, and three hundreth bullockes.
8 Também os seus príncipes fizeram ofertas voluntárias ao povo, aos sacerdotes e aos levitas. Hilquias, Zacarias e Jeiel, chefes da Casa de Deus, deram aos sacerdotes, para os sacrifícios da Páscoa, dois mil e seiscentos cordeiros e cabritos e trezentos bois.
9 Conaniah also and Shemaiah and Nethaneel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Ieiel, and Iozabad, chiefe of the Leuites gaue vnto the Leuites for the Passeouer, fiue thousand sheepe, and fiue hundreth bullockes.
9 Conanias, os seus irmãos Semaías e Natanael, e também Hasabias, Jeiel e Jozabade, chefes dos levitas, apresentaram aos levitas, para os sacrifícios da Páscoa, cinco mil cordeiros e cabritos e quinhentos bois.
10 Thus the seruice was prepared, and the Priests stoode in their places, also the Leuites in their orders, according to the Kings commandement:
10 Assim se preparou o serviço, e os sacerdotes se puseram nos seus lugares com os levitas, pelos seus turnos, segundo a ordem do rei.
11 And they slewe the Passeouer, and the Priests sprinkled the blood with their handes, and the Leuites flayed them.
11 Então mataram os cordeiros da Páscoa, e os sacerdotes aspergiam o sangue recebido das mãos dos levitas que tiravam a pele dos animais.
12 And they tooke away from the burnt offering to giue it according to the deuisions of the families of the children of the people, to offer vnto the Lord, as it is written in the booke of Moses, and so of the bullockes.
12 Puseram de parte o que era para os holocaustos e o deram ao povo, segundo os grupos das famílias, para que estes o oferecessem ao Senhor , como está escrito no Livro de Moisés; e assim fizeram com os bois.
13 And they rosted the Passeouer with fire, according to ye custome, but the sanctified things they sod in pots, pannes, and cauldrons, and distributed them quickely to all the people.
13 Assaram o cordeiro da Páscoa no fogo, segundo o rito. Cozinharam as ofertas sagradas em panelas, em caldeirões e em frigideiras, e as repartiram entre todo o povo.
14 Afterwarde also they prepared for them selues and for the Priestes: for the Priestes the sonnes of Aaron were occupied in offering of burnt offrings, and the fat vntill night: therefore the Leuites prepared for them selues, and for the Priests the sonnes of Aaron.
14 Depois os levitas prepararam o que era deles e dos sacerdotes, porque os sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, se ocuparam, até a noite, com o sacrifício dos holocaustos e da gordura. Foi por isso que os levitas prepararam o que era deles e dos sacerdotes, filhos de Arão.
15 And the singers the sonnes of Asaph stoode in their standing according to the commandement of Dauid, and Asaph, and Heman, and Ieduthun the Kings Seer: and the porters at euery gate, who might not depart from their seruice: therefore their brethren the Leuites prepared for them.
15 Os cantores, filhos de Asafe, estavam nos seus lugares, segundo o mandado de Davi, de Asafe, de Hemã e de Jedutum, vidente do rei. Também os porteiros estavam junto aos portões; não necessitaram abandonar o seu serviço, porque os seus irmãos, os levitas, preparavam o necessário para eles.
16 So all the seruice of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keepe the Passeouer, and to offer burnt offerings vpon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandement of King Iosiah.
16 Assim se estabeleceu todo o serviço do Senhor , naquele dia, para celebrar a Páscoa e oferecer holocaustos sobre o altar do Senhor , segundo o mandado do rei Josias.
17 And the children of Israel that were present, kept the Passeouer the same time, and the feast of the vnleauened bread seuen dayes.
17 Os filhos de Israel que estavam presentes celebraram a Páscoa naquele tempo e a Festa dos Pães sem Fermento, durante sete dias.
18 And there was no Passeouer kept like that, in Israel, from the dayes of Samuel the Prophet: neyther did all the Kings of Israel keepe such a Passeouer as Iosiah kept, and the Priestes and the Leuites, and all Iudah, and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem.
18 Nunca se celebrou uma Páscoa como esta em Israel desde os dias do profeta Samuel. E nenhum dos reis de Israel celebrou uma Páscoa como esta que Josias celebrou com os sacerdotes e levitas, e com todo o Judá e Israel, que estavam ali, e com os moradores de Jerusalém.
19 This Passeouer was kept in the eighteenth yeere of the reigne of Iosiah.
19 Foi no décimo oitavo ano do reinado de Josias que foi celebrada esta Páscoa.
20 After all this, when Iosiah had prepared the Temple, Necho King of Egypt came vp to fight against Carchemish by Perath, and Iosiah went out against him.
20 Depois de tudo isto, quando Josias já tinha restaurado o templo, o rei Neco, do Egito, subiu para guerrear em Carquemis, junto ao rio Eufrates. E Josias saiu para lutar contra ele.
21 But he sent messengers to him, saying, What haue I to doe with thee, thou King of Iudah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house of mine enemie, and God commanded me to make haste: leaue of to come against God, which is with me, least he destroy thee.
21 Então Neco mandou mensageiros a ele, dizendo: — O que você tem contra mim, rei de Judá? Não venho contra você desta vez, mas contra o reino com o qual estou em guerra. E Deus disse que me apressasse. Pare de se opor a Deus, que está comigo, para que ele não o destrua.
22 But Iosiah would not turne his face from him, but changed his apparel to fight with him, and hearkened not vnto the wordes of Necho, which were of the mouth of God, but came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
22 Mas Josias não voltou atrás. Pelo contrário, se disfarçou para lutar contra ele. Não deu ouvidos às palavras que Neco lhe havia falado da parte de Deus e foi lutar no vale de Megido.
23 And the shooters shot at king Iosiah: then the King saide to his seruants, Cary me away, for I am very sicke.
23 Os flecheiros atiraram contra o rei Josias. Então o rei disse aos seus servos: — Tirem-me daqui, porque estou gravemente ferido.
24 So his seruants tooke him out of that charet, and put him in the seconde charet which he had, and when they had brought him to Ierusalem, he dyed, and was buryed in the sepulchres of his fathers: and all Iudah and Ierusalem mourned for Iosiah.
24 Seus servos o tiraram do carro de guerra, levaram-no para o segundo carro que ele tinha e o transportaram para Jerusalém. Ele morreu e foi sepultado nos túmulos de seus pais. Todo o Judá e Jerusalém prantearam Josias.
25 And Ieremiah lamented Iosiah, and al singing men and singing women mourned for Iosiah in their lamentations to this day, and made the same for an ordinance vnto Israel: and beholde, they be written in the lamentations.
25 Jeremias compôs uma lamentação sobre Josias, e até o dia de hoje todos os cantores e cantoras, nas suas lamentações, se têm referido a Josias. Isto se tornou um costume em Israel, e essas lamentações estão escritas no Livro das Lamentações.
26 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah and his goodnesse, doing as it was written in the Lawe of the Lord,
26 Quanto aos demais atos de Josias e às suas obras de misericórdia, segundo está escrito na Lei do Senhor ,
27 And his deedes, first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Israel and Iudah.
27 e aos seus atos, tanto os primeiros como os últimos, está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel e de Judá.
