1 Therefore, seeing that we haue this ministerie, as we haue receiued mercy, we faint not:
1 Por isso, tendo este ministério, segundo a misericórdia que nos foi dada, não desanimamos.
2 But haue cast from vs ye clokes of shame, and walke not in craftines, neither handle we the worde of God deceitfully: but in declaration of the trueth we approue our selues to euery mans conscience in the sight of God.
2 Pelo contrário, rejeitamos as coisas ocultas que trazem vergonha, não agindo com astúcia, nem adulterando a palavra de Deus. E assim, pela manifestação da verdade, nos recomendamos à consciência de todos na presença de Deus.
3 If our Gospell bee then hid, it is hid to them that are lost.
3 Mas, se o nosso evangelho ainda está encoberto, é para os que se perdem que ele está encoberto,
4 In whom the God of this world hath blinded the mindes, that is, of the infidels, that the light of the glorious Gospell of Christ, which is the image of God, should not shine vnto them.
4 nos quais o deus deste mundo cegou o entendimento dos descrentes, para que não lhes resplandeça a luz do evangelho da glória de Cristo, o qual é a imagem de Deus.
5 For we preach not our selues, but Christ Iesus the Lord, and our selues your seruaunts for Iesus sake.
5 Porque não pregamos a nós mesmos, mas a Jesus Cristo como Senhor e a nós mesmos como servos de vocês, por causa de Jesus.
6 For God that commanded the light to shine out of darknesse, is he which hath shined in our hearts, to giue the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Iesus Christ.
6 Porque Deus, que disse: “Das trevas resplandeça a luz”, ele mesmo resplandeceu em nosso coração, para iluminação do conhecimento da glória de Deus na face de Jesus Cristo.
7 But we haue this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellencie of that power might be of God, and not of vs.
7 Temos, porém, este tesouro em vasos de barro, para que se veja que a excelência do poder provém de Deus, não de nós.
8 Wee are afflicted on euery side, yet are we not in distresse: we are in doubt, but yet wee despaire not.
8 Em tudo somos atribulados, porém não angustiados; ficamos perplexos, porém não desanimados;
9 We are persecuted, but not forsaken: cast downe, but we perish not.
9 somos perseguidos, porém não abandonados; somos derrubados, porém não destruídos.
10 Euery where we beare about in our bodie the dying of the Lord Iesus, that the life of Iesus might also be made manifest in our bodies.
10 Levamos sempre no corpo o morrer de Jesus, para que também a vida dele se manifeste em nosso corpo.
11 For we which liue, are alwaies deliuered vnto death for Iesus sake, that the life also of Iesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
11 Porque nós, que vivemos, somos sempre entregues à morte por causa de Jesus, para que também a vida de Jesus se manifeste em nossa carne mortal.
12 So then death worketh in vs, and life in you.
12 De modo que em nós opera a morte; em vocês, a vida.
13 And because we haue the same spirite of faith, according as it is written, I beleeued, and therefore haue I spoken, we also beleeue, and therefore speake,
13 Tendo, porém, o mesmo espírito de fé, como está escrito: “Eu cri, por isso falei”, também nós cremos e, por isso, também falamos,
14 Knowing that he which hath raised vp the Lord Iesus, shall raise vs vp also by Iesus, and shall set vs with you.
14 sabendo que aquele que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus também nos ressuscitará com Jesus e nos apresentará juntamente com vocês.
15 For all thinges are for your sakes, that that most plenteous grace by the thankesgiuing of many, may redound to the praise of God.
15 Porque tudo isso é para o bem de vocês, para que a graça, multiplicando-se, torne abundantes as ações de graças por meio de muitos, para a glória de Deus.
16 Therefore we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed daily.
16 Por isso não desanimamos. Pelo contrário, mesmo que o nosso ser exterior se desgaste, o nosso ser interior se renova dia a dia.
17 For our light affliction which is but for a moment, causeth vnto vs a farre most excellent and an eternall waight of glorie:
17 Porque a nossa leve e momentânea tribulação produz para nós um eterno peso de glória, acima de toda comparação,
18 While we looke not on the thinges which are seene, but on the things which are not seene: for the things which are seene, are temporall: but the things which are not seene, are eternall.
18 na medida em que não olhamos para as coisas que se veem, mas para as que não se veem. Porque as coisas que se veem são temporais, mas as que não se veem são eternas.
