1 Doe we begin to praise our selues againe? or neede we as some other, epistles of recommendation vnto you, or letters of recommendation from you?
1 Começamos novamente a elogiar a nós mesmos? Ou nós precisamos, como alguns outros, de cartas de recomendação para vós, ou cartas de recomendação de vós?
2 Yee are our epistle, written in our hearts, which is vnderstand, and read of all men,
2 Vós sois a nossa carta escrita em nossos corações, conhecida e lida por todos os homens;
3 In that yee are manifest, to be the Epistle of Christ, ministred by vs, and written, not with yncke, but with the Spirite of the liuing God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.
3 porquanto vós sois manifestamente declarados para ser a carta de Cristo, ministrada por nós e escrita, não com tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo; não em tábuas de pedra, mas nas tábuas de carne do coração.
4 And such trust haue we through Christ to God:
4 E tal confiança nós temos através de Cristo em Deus;
5 Not that we are sufficient of our selues, to thinke any thing, as of our selues: but our sufficiencie is of God,
5 não que sejamos suficientes por nós mesmos para pensar alguma coisa como de nós mesmos; mas a nossa suficiência é de Deus,
6 Who also hath made vs able ministers of the Newe testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirite: for the letter killeth, but the Spirite giueth life.
6 o qual também nos fez capazes de ser ministros do novo testamento, não da letra, mas do espírito; porque a letra mata, mas o espírito dá vida.
7 If then the ministration of death written with letters and ingrauen in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel coulde not beholde the face of Moses, for the glorie of his countenance (which glorie is done away.)
7 Mas se a ministração da morte, escrita e gravada em pedras, era gloriosa, de maneira que os filhos de Israel não podiam contemplar firmemente a face de Moisés, por causa da glória do seu semblante; cuja glória estava se acabando,
8 Howe shall not the ministration of the Spirite be more glorious?
8 como não será a ministração do Espírito mais gloriosa?
9 For if the ministerie of condemnation was glorious, much more doeth the ministration of righteousnesse exceede in glorie.
9 Porque, se a ministração da condenação for gloriosa, muito mais a ministração da justiça excederá em glória.
10 For euen that which was glorified, was not glorified in this point, that is, as touching the exceeding glorie.
10 Porque até o que foi feito glorioso, a este respeito não tinha glória, em razão da glória que excede.
11 For if that which should be abolished, was glorious, much more shall that which remaineth, be glorious.
11 Porque, se o que era transitório foi glorioso, muito mais o que permanece é glorioso.
12 Seeing then that we haue such trust, we vse great boldnesse of speach.
12 Vendo, então, que temos tal esperança, usamos de grande simplicidade no falar;
13 And we are not as Moses, which put a vaile vpon his face, that the children of Israel should not looke vnto the ende of that which should be abolished.
13 e não como Moisés, o qual colocou um véu sobre a sua face, para que os filhos de Israel não pudessem olhar firmemente para o fim daquilo que é abolido;
14 Therefore their mindes are hardened: for vntill this day remaineth the same couering vntaken away in the reading of the olde Testament, which vaile in Christ is put away.
14 mas suas mentes estavam cegas; porque até este dia permanece o mesmo véu encoberto na leitura do velho testamento; véu o qual está aniquilado em Cristo.
15 But euen vnto this day, whe Moses is read, the vaile is laid ouer their hearts.
15 Mas até hoje, quando Moisés é lido, o véu está sobre o coração deles.
16 Neuertheles when their heart shall be turned to the Lord, the vaile shalbe taken away.
16 Mesmo assim, quando se converterem ao Senhor, o véu será retirado.
17 Nowe the Lord is the Spirite, and where the Spirite of the Lord is, there is libertie.
17 Ora, o Senhor é o Espírito, e onde o Espírito do Senhor está, aí está a liberdade.
18 But we al behold as in a mirrour the glory of the Lord with open face, and are changed into the same image, from glorie to glorie, as by the Spirit of the Lord.
18 Mas todos nós, com a face descoberta, contemplando como em um espelho a glória do Senhor, somos transformados na mesma imagem de glória em glória, como pelo Espírito do Senhor.
