1 And Hannah prayed, and said, Mine heart reioyceth in the Lord, mine horne is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged ouer mine enemies, because I reioyce in thy saluation.
1 Então Ana orou assim: "Meu coração exulta no Senhor; no Senhor minha força é exaltada. Minha boca se exalta sobre os meus inimigos, pois me alegro em tua libertação.
2 There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.
2 "Não há ninguém santo como o Senhor; não há outro além de ti; não há rocha alguma como o nosso Deus.
3 Speake no more presumptuously: let not arrogancie come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him enterprises are established.
3 "Não falem tão orgulhosamente, nem saia de suas bocas tal arrogância, pois o Senhor é Deus sábio; é ele quem julga os atos dos homens.
4 The bow and the mightie men are broken, and the weake haue girded themselues with strength.
4 "O arco dos fortes é quebrado, mas os fracos são revestidos de força.
5 They that were full, are hired foorth for bread, and the hungrie are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne seuen: and shee that had many children, is feeble.
5 Os que tinham muito, agora trabalham por comida, mas os que estavam famintos, agora não passam fome. A que era estéril deu à luz sete filhos, mas a que tinha muitos filhos ficou sem vigor.
6 The Lord killeth and maketh aliue: bringeth downe to the graue and raiseth vp.
6 "O Senhor mata e preserva a vida; ele faz descer à sepultura e dela resgata.
7 The Lord maketh poore and maketh rich: bringeth lowe, and exalteth.
7 O Senhor é quem dá pobreza e riqueza; ele humilha e exalta.
8 He raiseth vp ye poore out of the dust, and lifteth vp the begger from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherite the seate of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the world vpon them.
8 Levanta do pó o necessitado e, do monte de cinzas ergue o pobre; ele os faz sentarem-se com príncipes e lhes dá lugar de honra. "Pois os alicerces da terra são do Senhor; sobre eles estabeleceu o mundo.
9 Hee will keepe the feete of his Saintes, and the wicked shall keepe silence in darkenes: for in his owne might shall no man be strong.
9 Ele guardará os pés dos seus santos, mas os ímpios serão silenciados nas trevas, pois não é pela força que o homem prevalece.
10 The Lordes aduersaries shall be destroyed, and out of heauen shall he thunder vpon them: the Lord shall iudge the endes of the worlde, and shall giue power vnto his King, and exalt the horne of his Anoynted.
10 Aqueles que se opõem ao Senhor serão despedaçados. Ele trovejará do céu contra eles; o Senhor julgará até os confins da terra. Ele dará poder a seu rei e exaltará a força do seu ungido".
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house, and the childe did minister vnto the Lord before Eli the Priest.
11 Então Elcana voltou para casa em Ramá; mas o menino começou a servir o Senhor sob a direção do sacerdote Eli.
12 Now the sonnes of Eli were wicked men, and knewe not the Lord.
12 Os filhos de Eli eram ímpios; não se importavam com o Senhor
13 For the Priestes custome towarde the people was this: when any man offered sacrifice, the Priestes boy came, while the flesh was seething, and a fleshhooke with three teeth, in his hand,
13 nem cumpriam os deveres de sacerdotes para com o povo; sempre que alguém oferecia um sacrifício o auxiliar do sacerdote vinha com um garfo de três dentes,
14 And thrust it into the kettle, or into the caldron, or into the panne, or into the potte: all that the fleshhooke brought vp, the Priest tooke for himselfe: thus they did vnto all the Israelites, that came thither to Shiloh.
14 e, enquanto a carne estava cozinhando, ele enfiava o garfo na panela, ou travessa, ou caldeirão, ou caçarola, e o sacerdote pegava para si tudo o que vinha no garfo. Assim faziam com todos os israelitas que iam a Siló.
15 Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priests boy came and saide to the man that offered, Giue me flesh to rost for the priest: for he wil not haue sodden flesh of thee, but rawe.
15 Mas, antes mesmo de queimarem a gordura, vinha o auxiliar do sacerdote e dizia ao homem que estava oferecendo o sacrifício: "Dê um pedaço desta carne para o sacerdote assar; ele não aceitará de você carne cozida, somente crua".
16 And if any man saide vnto him, Let them burne the fatte according to the custome, then take as much as thine heart desireth: then hee would answere, No, but thou shalt giue it nowe: and if thou wilt not, I will take it by force.
16 Se o homem lhe dissesse: "Deixe primeiro a gordura se queimar e então pegue o que quiser", o auxiliar respondia: "Não. Entregue a carne agora. Se não, eu a tomarei à força".
17 Therefore the sinne of the yong men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
17 O pecado desses jovens era muito grande à vista do Senhor, pois eles estavam tratando com desprezo a oferta do Senhor.
18 Now Samuel being a yong childe ministred before the Lord, girded with a linen Ephod.
18 Samuel, contudo, ainda menino, ministrava perante o Senhor, vestindo uma túnica de linho.
19 And his mother made him a litle coat, and brought it to him from yeere to yeere, when she came vp with her husband, to offer the yerely sacrifice.
19 Todos os anos sua mãe fazia uma pequena túnica e a levava para ele, quando subia a Siló com o marido para oferecer o sacrifício anual.
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord giue thee seede of this woman, for the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed vnto their place.
20 Eli abençoava Elcana e sua mulher, dizendo: "O Senhor dê a você filhos desta mulher no lugar daquele por quem ela pediu e dedicou ao Senhor". Então voltavam para casa.
21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceiued, and bare three sonnes, and two daughters. And the childe Samuel grewe before the Lord.
21 O Senhor foi bondoso com Ana; ela engravidou e deu à luz três filhos e duas filhas. Enquanto isso, o menino Samuel crescia na presença do Senhor.
22 So Eli was very olde, and heard all that his sonnes did vnto all Israel, and howe they laye with the women that assembled at the doore of the tabernacle of the Congregation.
22 Eli, já bem idoso, ficou sabendo de tudo que seus filhos faziam a todo o Israel e que eles se deitavam com as mulheres que serviam na entrada da Tenda do Encontro.
23 And hee saide vnto them, Why doe ye such things? for of all this people I heare euill reportes of you.
23 Por isso lhes perguntou: "Por que vocês fazem estas coisas? De todo o povo ouço a respeito do mal que vocês fazem.
24 Do no more, my sonnes, for it is no good report that I heare, which is, that ye make the Lords people to trespasse.
24 Não, meus filhos; não é bom o que escuto se espalhando entre o povo do Senhor.
25 If one man sinne against another, the Iudge shall iudge it: but if a man sinne against the Lord, who will pleade for him? Notwithstanding they obeyed not the voyce of their father, because the Lord would slay them.
25 Se um homem pecar contra outro homem, os juízes poderão intervir em seu favor; mas, se pecar contra o Senhor, quem intercederá por ele? " Seus filhos, contudo, não deram atenção à repreensão de seu pai, pois o Senhor queria matá-los.
26 (Nowe the childe Samuel profited and grewe, and was in fauour both with the Lord and also with men)
26 E o menino Samuel continuava a crescer, sendo cada vez mais estimado pelo Senhor e pelo povo.
27 And there came a man of God vnto Eli, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did not I plainely appeare vnto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaohs house?
27 E veio um homem de Deus a Eli e lhe disse: "Assim diz o Senhor: ‘Acaso não me revelei claramente à família de seu pai, quando eles estavam no Egito, sob o domínio do faraó?
28 And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my Priest, to offer vpon mine altar, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me, and I gaue vnto the house of thy father all the offrings made by fire of the children of Israel.
28 Escolhi seu pai dentre todas as tribos de Israel para ser o meu sacerdote, subir ao meu altar, queimar incenso e usar um colete sacerdotal na minha presença. Também dei à família de seu pai todas as ofertas preparadas no fogo pelos israelitas.
29 Wherefore haue you kicked against my sacrifice and mine offering, which I commanded in my Tabernacle, and honourest thy children aboue mee, to make your selues fatte of the first fruites of all the offerings of Israel my people?
29 Por que vocês zombam de meu sacrifício e de minha oferta que determinei para a minha habitação? Por que você honra seus filhos mais do que a mim, deixando-os engordar com as melhores partes de todas as ofertas feitas pelo meu povo Israel? ’
30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I saide, that thine house and the house of thy father should walke before mee for euer: but nowe the Lord saith, It shall not be so: for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despise me, shall be despised.
30 Portanto, o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, declara: ‘Prometi à sua família e à linhagem de seu pai, que ministrariam diante de mim para sempre’. Mas agora o Senhor declara: ‘Longe de mim tal coisa! Honrarei aqueles que me honram, mas aqueles que me desprezam serão tratados com desprezo.
31 Beholde, the dayes come, that I will cut off thine arme, and the arme of thy fathers house, that there shall not be an olde man in thine house.
31 É chegada a hora em que eliminarei a sua força e a força da família de seu pai, e não haverá mais nenhum idoso na sua família,
32 And thou shalt see thine enemie in the habitation of the Lord in all thinges wherewith God shall blesse Israel, and there shall not be an olde man in thine house for euer.
32 e você verá aflição na minha habitação. Embora Israel prospere, na sua família ninguém alcançará idade avançada.
33 Neuerthelesse, I will not destroy euery one of thine from mine altar, to make thine eyes to faile, and to make thine heart sorowfull: and all ye multitude of thine house shall die when they be men.
33 E todo descendente seu que eu não eliminar de meu altar será poupado apenas para lhe consumir os olhos com lágrimas e para lhe entristecer o coração, e todos os seus descendentes morrerão no vigor da vida.
34 And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, that shall come vpon thy two sonnes Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both.
34 E o que acontecer a seus dois filhos, Hofni e Finéias, será um sinal para você: os dois morrerão no mesmo dia.
35 And I will stirre me vp a faithfull Priest, that shall do according to mine heart and according to my minde: and I wil build him a sure house, and he shall walke before mine Anointed for euer.
35 Levantarei para mim um sacerdote fiel, que agirá de acordo com o meu coração e o meu pensamento. Edificarei firmemente a família dele, e ele ministrará sempre perante o meu rei ungido.
36 And all that are left in thine house, shall come and bowe downe to him for a piece of siluer and a morsell of bread, and shall say, Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestes offices, that I may eate a morsell of bread.
36 Então todo o que restar da sua família virá e se prostrará perante ele, para obter uma moeda de prata e um pedaço de pão. E lhe implorará que o ponha em alguma função sacerdotal, para ter o que comer’ ".
