1 So the Philistims were gathered together with all their armies in Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by the fountaine, which is in Izreel.
1 E ajuntaram os filisteus todos os seus exércitos em Afeque; e acamparam-se os israelitas junto à fonte que está em Jizreel.
2 And the princes of the Philistims went foorth by hundreths and thousandes, but Dauid and his men came behinde with Achish.
2 E os príncipes dos filisteus se foram para lá com centenas e com milhares; porém Davi e os seus homens iam com Aquis na retaguarda.
3 Then saide the princes of the Philistims, What doe these Ebrewes here? And Achish said vnto the princes of the Philistims, Is not this Dauid the seruant of Saul the King of Israel, who hath bene with me these dayes, or these yeeres, and I haue found nothing in him, since he dwelt with me vnto this day?
3 Disseram então os príncipes dos filisteus: Que fazem aqui estes hebreus? E disse Aquis aos príncipes dos filisteus: Não é este Davi, o servo de Saul, rei de Israel, que esteve comigo há alguns dias ou anos? Coisa nenhuma achei nele desde o dia em que se revoltou, até ao dia de hoje.
4 But the princes of the Philistims were wroth with him, and the princes of the Philistims said vnto him, Sende this fellow backe, that he may goe againe to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not goe downe with vs to battell, least that in the battell he be an aduersarie to vs: for wherewith should he obteine the fauour of his master? shoulde it not be with the heades of these men?
4 Porém os príncipes dos filisteus muito se indignaram contra ele; e disseram-lhe os príncipes dos filisteus: Faze voltar este homem, para que torne ao lugar em que tu o puseste, e não desça conosco à batalha, para que não se torne nosso adversário na batalha; pois, com que poderia este agradar a seu Senhor? Porventura não seria com as cabeças destes homens?
5 Is not this Dauid, of whome they sang in daunces, saying, Saul slewe his thousande, and Dauid his ten thousande?
5 Não é este aquele Davi, de quem uns aos outros cantaram nas danças, dizendo: Saul feriu os seus milhares, porém Davi os seus dez milhares?
6 Then Achish called Dauid, and said vnto him, As the Lord liueth, thou hast bene vpright and good in my sight, when thou wentest out and in with mee in the hoste, neither haue I founde euill with thee, since thou camest to me vnto this day, but the princes doe not fauour thee.
6 Então Aquis chamou a Davi e disse-lhe: Vive o Senhor, que tu és reto, e que a tua entrada e a tua saída comigo no arraial é boa aos meus olhos; porque nenhum mal em ti achei, desde o dia em que a mim vieste, até ao dia de hoje; porém aos olhos dos príncipes não agradas.
7 Wherefore nowe returne, and go in peace, that thou displease not the princes of the Philistims.
7 Volta, pois, agora, e vai em paz; para que não faças mal aos olhos dos príncipes dos filisteus.
8 And Dauid said vnto Achish, But what haue I done? and what hast thou founde in thy seruant as long as I haue bene with thee vnto this day, that I may not goe and fight against the enemies of my lorde the King?
8 Então Davi disse a Aquis: Por quê? Que fiz? Ou que achaste no teu servo, desde o dia em que estive diante de ti, até ao dia de hoje, para que não vá e peleje contra os inimigos do rei, meu senhor?
9 Achish then answered, and said to Dauid, I knowe thou pleasest mee, as an Angell of God: but the princes of the Philistims haue saide, Let him not goe vp with vs to battell.
9 Respondeu, porém, Aquis, e disse a Davi: Bem o sei; e que na verdade aos meus olhos és bom como um anjo de Deus; porém disseram os príncipes dos filisteus: Não suba este conosco à batalha.
10 Wherefore now rise vp earely in the morning with thy masters seruants that are come with thee: and when ye be vp earely, assoone as ye haue light, depart.
10 Agora, pois, amanhã de madrugada levanta-te com os servos de teu senhor, que têm vindo contigo; e, levantando-vos pela manhã, de madrugada, e havendo luz, parti.
11 So Dauid and his men rose vp earely to depart in the morning, and to returne into the lande of the Philistims: and the Philistims went vp to Izreel.
11 Então Davi de madrugada se levantou, ele e os seus homens, para partirem pela manhã, e voltarem à terra dos filisteus; e os filisteus subiram a Jizreel.
