1 And in the eighteenth yeere of King Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, reigned Abiiam ouer Iudah.
1 No ano dezoito do reinado de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, em Israel, Abias se tornou rei de Judá.
2 Three yeere reigned hee in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
2 Ele governou três anos em Jerusalém. A mãe dele se chamava Maacá e era filha de Absalão.
3 And hee walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfit with the Lord his God as the heart of Dauid his father.
3 Abias cometeu os mesmos pecados que o seu pai havia cometido e não foi fiel em tudo ao Senhor , seu Deus, como o seu bisavô Davi tinha sido.
4 But for Dauids sake did the Lord his God giue him a light in Ierusalem, and set vp his sonne after him, and established Ierusalem,
4 Mas, por causa de Davi, o Senhor , seu Deus, deu a Abias um filho para governar em Jerusalém depois dele e para conservar Jerusalém em segurança.
5 Because Dauid did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and turned from nothing that he commanded him, all the dayes of his life, saue onely in the matter of Vriah the Hittite.
5 O Senhor fez isso porque Davi tinha feito o que lhe agradava e nunca havia desobedecido a nenhum dos seus mandamentos, a não ser no caso de Urias, o heteu.
6 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam as long as he liued.
6 Abias e Jeroboão estiveram sempre em guerra um contra o outro durante o reinado de Abias.
7 The rest also of the actes of Abiiam, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? there was also warre betweene Abiiam, and Ieroboam.
7 Todas as outras coisas que Abias fez estão escritas na História dos Reis de Judá .
8 And Abiiam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Dauid: and Asa his sonne reigned in his steade.
8 Abias morreu e foi sepultado na Cidade de Davi , e o seu filho Asa ficou no lugar dele como rei.
9 And in the twentie yeere of Ieroboam King of Israel reigned Asa ouer Iudah.
9 No ano vinte do reinado de Jeroboão em Israel, Asa se tornou rei de Judá
10 He reigned in Ierusalem one and fourtie yeere, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.
10 e governou quarenta e um anos em Jerusalém. A sua mãe se chamava Maacá e era filha de Absalão.
11 And Asa did right in the eyes of the Lord, as did Dauid his father.
11 Asa fez o que agradava ao Senhor Deus, como havia feito o seu antepassado Davi.
12 And he tooke away the Sodomites out of the lande, and put away all the idoles that his fathers had made.
12 Asa expulsou do país todos os que praticavam a prostituição como parte dos cultos pagãos e retirou todos os ídolos feitos por aqueles que haviam sido reis antes dele.
13 And he put downe Maachah his mother also from her estate, because shee had made an idole in a groue: and Asa destroyed her idoles, and burnt them by the brooke Kidron.
13 Ele tirou a sua mãe Maacá da posição de rainha-mãe porque ela havia mandado fazer uma figura nojenta para servir como poste da deusa Aserá . Asa derrubou esse poste e o queimou no vale do Cedrom.
14 But they put not downe the hie places. Neuertheles Asas heart was vpright with the Lord all his dayes.
14 Ele não destruiu todos os lugares pagãos de adoração, porém foi fiel ao Senhor Deus durante toda a sua vida.
15 Also he brought in the holy vessels of his father, and the things that he had dedicated vnto ye house of the Lord, siluer, and golde, and vessels.
15 Asa colocou no Templo todos os objetos que o seu pai havia separado para Deus e também os objetos de prata e de ouro que ele mesmo havia separado.
16 And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel all their dayes.
16 O rei Asa, de Judá, e o rei Baasa, de Israel, estiveram sempre em guerra um contra o outro durante todo o tempo em que ficaram no poder.
17 Then Baasha king of Israel went vp against Iudah, and buylt Ramah, so that he woulde let none go out or in to Asa King of Iudah.
17 Baasa invadiu Judá e começou a cercar de muralhas a cidade de Ramá, para assim controlar o movimento na estrada que ia até Jerusalém.
18 Then Asa tooke all the siluer and the gold that was left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and deliuered them into the handes of his seruantes, and King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the sonne of Tabrimon, the sonne of Hezion king of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
18 Por isso, o rei Asa pegou toda a prata e todo o ouro que haviam ficado no Templo e no palácio e entregou a alguns dos seus servidores, a fim de que levassem para Damasco e entregassem ao rei Ben-Hadade, que era filho de Tabrimom e neto de Heziom. Junto foi a seguinte mensagem:
19 There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and golde: come, breake thy couenant with Baasha King of Israel, that he may depart from me.
19 “Vamos ser aliados como eram os nossos pais. Esta prata e este ouro são um presente para você. Retire agora o apoio que você está dando a Baasa, rei de Israel, para que assim ele tenha de tirar os seus soldados do meu território.”
20 So Ben-hadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the hosts, which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote lion, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
20 O rei Ben-Hadade concordou com a proposta de Asa e mandou que os seus comandantes e os seus exércitos atacassem as cidades de Israel. Eles conquistaram as cidades de Ijom, Dã e Abel-Bete-Maacá, a região que fica perto do lago da Galileia, e todo o território de Naftali.
21 And when Baasha heard thereof, hee left buylding of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
21 Quando o rei Baasa soube do que havia acontecido, parou de construir as muralhas de Ramá e voltou para Tirza.
22 Then king Asa assembled al Iudah, none excepted. and they tooke the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had buylt, and King Asa built with them Geba of Beniamin and Mizpah.
22 O rei Asa mandou avisar em toda a região de Judá que todos, sem faltar ninguém, deviam ir ajudar a carregar para fora de Ramá as pedras e a madeira que Baasa havia estado usando para construir as muralhas em volta da cidade. Com esse material, Asa cercou de muralhas a cidade de Mispa e também a cidade de Geba, que ficava no território da tribo de Benjamim.
23 And the rest of all the actes of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he buylt, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? but in his olde age he was diseased in his feete.
23 Todas as outras coisas que o rei Asa fez, os seus atos de coragem e as cidades que ele cercou de muralhas, tudo isso está escrito na História dos Reis de Judá . Na sua velhice ele foi atacado por uma doença nos pés.
24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father. And Iehoshaphat his sonne reigned in his steade.
24 Asa morreu e foi sepultado nos túmulos dos reis, na Cidade de Davi . O seu filho Josafá ficou como rei no lugar dele.
25 And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam began to reigne ouer Israel the second yere of Asa King of Iudah, and reigned ouer Israel two yeere.
25 No segundo ano do reinado de Asa em Judá, Nadabe, filho do rei Jeroboão, se tornou rei de Israel. Ele foi rei dois anos.
26 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of his father, and in his sinne wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
26 Como havia feito o seu pai antes dele, Nadabe pecou contra Deus e fez com que o povo de Israel também pecasse.
27 And Baasha the sonne of Ahijah of ye house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha slue him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistims: for Nadab and all Israel layde siege to Gibbethon.
27 Baasa, filho de Aías, da tribo de Issacar, fez uma conspiração contra Nadabe e o matou no país dos filisteus, em Gibetom, a cidade que Nadabe e o seu exército estavam cercando.
28 Euen in the third yeere of Asa King of Iudah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his steade.
28 Isso aconteceu no terceiro ano do governo do rei Asa em Judá. E assim Baasa ficou no lugar de Nadabe como rei de Israel.
29 And when he was King, he smote all the house of Ieroboam, he left none aliue to Ieroboam, vntill hee had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord which he spake by his seruant Ahijah the Shilonite,
29 Logo que começou a reinar, ele matou as pessoas da família de Jeroboão. E, de acordo com o que o Senhor Deus tinha dito por meio do seu servo , o profeta Aías, de Siló, toda a família de Jeroboão foi morta; não escapou ninguém.
30 Because of the sinnes of Ieroboam which he committed, and wherewith he made Israel to sinne, by his prouocation, wherewith he prouoked the Lord God of Israel.
30 Isso aconteceu porque Jeroboão havia feito com que o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, ficasse irado com os pecados que ele cometeu e que fez o povo de Israel cometer.
31 And the residue of the actes of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
31 Todas as outras coisas que Nadabe fez estão escritas na História dos Reis de Israel .
32 And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel, all their dayes.
32 O rei Asa, de Judá, e o rei Baasa, de Israel, estiveram em guerra um contra o outro durante todo o tempo em que ficaram no poder.
33 In the thirde yeere of Asa King of Iudah, began Baasha the sonne of Ahijah to reigne ouer all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned foure and twentie yeeres.
33 No terceiro ano do reinado de Asa em Judá, Baasa, filho de Aías, se tornou rei de todo o povo de Israel e governou vinte e quatro anos em Tirza.
34 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinne, wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
34 Como o rei Jeroboão havia feito antes dele, Baasa pecou contra o Senhor Deus e fez com que o povo de Israel também pecasse.
