1 Be yee followers of mee, euen as I am of Christ.
1 Sejam meus imitadores, como eu sou imitador de Cristo.
2 Now brethren, I commend you, that ye remember all my things, and keepe the ordinances, as I deliuered them to you.
2 Eu os elogio porque vocês sempre têm se lembrado de mim e têm seguido os ensinamentos que lhes transmiti.
3 But I wil that ye know, that Christ is the head of euery man: and the man is the womans head: and God is Christs head.
3 Mas quero que saibam de uma coisa: o cabeça de todo homem é Cristo, o cabeça da mulher é o homem, e o cabeça de Cristo é Deus.
4 Euery man praying or prophecying hauing any thing on his head, dishonoureth his head.
4 O homem desonra sua cabeça se a cobre para orar ou profetizar.
5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth bare headed, dishonoureth her head: for it is euen one very thing, as though she were shauen.
5 Mas a mulher desonra sua cabeça se ora ou profetiza sem cobri-la, pois é como se tivesse raspado a cabeça.
6 Therefore if the woman be not couered, let her also be shorne: and if it be shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen, let her be couered.
6 Se ela se recusa a cobrir a cabeça, deve também cortar todo o cabelo! Mas, uma vez que é vergonhoso a mulher cortar o cabelo ou raspar a cabeça, deve cobri-la.
7 For a man ought not to couer his head: for as much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
7 O homem não deve cobrir a cabeça, pois ele foi criado à imagem de Deus e reflete a glória de Deus. A mulher, porém, reflete a glória do homem.
8 For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.
8 Pois o homem não veio da mulher, mas a mulher veio do homem.
9 For the man was not created for the womans sake: but the woman for the mans sake.
9 E o homem não foi criado para a mulher, mas a mulher foi criada para o homem.
10 Therefore ought the woman to haue power on her head, because of the Angels.
10 Por esse motivo, e também por causa dos anjos, a mulher deve cobrir a cabeça, para mostrar que está debaixo de autoridade.
11 Neuertheles, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord.
11 Entre o povo do Senhor, porém, as mulheres não são independentes dos homens, e os homens não são independentes das mulheres.
12 For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman: but all things are of God.
12 Pois, embora a mulher tenha vindo do homem, o homem nasce da mulher, e tudo vem de Deus.
13 Iudge in your selues, Is it comely that a woman pray vnto God vncouered?
13 Julguem por si mesmos: é correto uma mulher orar a Deus em público sem cobrir a cabeça?
14 Doeth not nature it selfe teach you, that if a man haue long heare, it is a shame vnto him?
14 A natureza não deixa claro que é vergonhoso o homem ter cabelo comprido?
15 But if a woman haue long heare, it is a prayse vnto her: for her heare is giuen her for a couering.
15 E as mulheres não se orgulham de seu cabelo comprido? Pois ele lhes foi dado como manto.
16 But if any man lust to be contentious, we haue no such custome, neither the Churches of God.
16 Mas, se alguém quiser discutir a esse respeito, digo simplesmente que não temos outro costume. E as outras igrejas de Deus pensam da mesma forma.
17 Nowe in this that I declare, I prayse you not, that ye come together, not with profite, but with hurt.
17 Nas instruções a seguir, porém, não posso elogiá-los, pois, quando vocês se reúnem, fazem mais mal que bem.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the Church, I heare that there are dissentions among you: and I beleeue it to be true in some part.
18 Primeiro, ouço que há divisões quando vocês se reúnem como igreja e, até certo ponto, eu o creio.
19 For there must be heresies euen among you, that they which are approoued among you, might be knowen.
19 Suponho que seja necessário haver divisões entre vocês para que se reconheçam os que são aprovados!
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eate the Lords Supper.
20 Quando vocês se reúnem, não estão interessados de fato na ceia do Senhor.
21 For euery man when they should eate, taketh his owne supper afore, and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
21 Alguns de vocês se apressam em comer a própria refeição; como resultado, alguns passam fome, enquanto outros ficam embriagados.
22 Haue ye not houses to eate and to drinke in? despise ye the Church of God, and shame them that haue not? what shall I say to you? shall I prayse you in this? I prayse you not.
22 Será que vocês não têm casa onde comer e beber? Ou querem mesmo envergonhar a igreja de Deus e humilhar os pobres? Que devo dizer? Querem que eu os elogie? Certamente não os elogiarei por isso!
23 For I haue receiued of the Lord that which I also haue deliuered vnto you, to wit, That the Lord Iesus in the night when he was betrayed, tooke bread:
23 Pois eu lhes transmiti aquilo que recebi do Senhor. Na noite em que o Senhor Jesus foi traído, ele tomou o pão,
24 And when hee had giuen thankes, hee brake it, and sayde, Take, eate: this is my body, which is broken for you: this doe ye in remembrance of me.
24 agradeceu a Deus, partiu-o e disse: “Este é meu corpo, que é entregue por vocês. Façam isto em memória de mim”.
25 After the same maner also he tooke the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the Newe Testament in my blood: this doe as oft as ye drinke it, in remembrance of me.
25 Da mesma forma, depois da ceia, tomou o cálice e disse: “Este cálice é a nova aliança, confirmada com meu sangue. Façam isto em memória de mim, sempre que o beberem”.
26 For as often as ye shall eate this bread, and drinke this cup, ye shewe the Lords death till hee come.
26 Porque cada vez que vocês comem desse pão e bebem desse cálice, anunciam a morte do Senhor até que ele venha.
27 Wherefore, whosoeuer shall eate this bread, and drinke the cup of the Lord vnworthily, shall be guiltie of the body and blood of the Lord.
27 Assim, quem come do pão ou bebe do cálice do Senhor indignamente é culpado de pecar contra o corpo e o sangue do Senhor.
28 Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup.
28 Portanto, examinem-se antes de comer do pão e beber do cálice,
29 For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body.
29 pois, se comem do pão ou bebem do cálice sem honrar o corpo de Cristo, comem e bebem julgamento contra si mesmos.
30 For this cause many are weake, and sicke among you, and many sleepe.
30 Por isso muitos de vocês estão fracos e doentes e alguns até adormeceram.
31 For if we would iudge our selues, we should not be iudged.
31 Se examinássemos a nós mesmos, não seríamos julgados dessa maneira.
32 But when we are iudged, we are chastened of the Lord, because we should not be condemned with the world.
32 Mas, quando somos julgados pelo Senhor, estamos sendo disciplinados para que não sejamos condenados com o mundo.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eate, tary one for another.
33 Portanto, meus irmãos, quando se reunirem para comer, esperem uns pelos outros.
34 And if any man be hungry, let him eate at home, that ye come not together vnto condemnation. Other things will I set in order when I come.
34 Se estiverem com fome, comam em casa, a fim de não trazer julgamento sobre si mesmos ao se reunirem. Eu lhes darei instruções a respeito de outros assuntos depois que chegar aí.
