The Peschito Syriac New Testament (ETHERIDGE) vs NAA
1 PAULOS, a servant of Aloha, and apostle of Jeshu Meshiha, for the faith of the chosen ones of Aloha, and the knowledge of the truth which is in the fear of Aloha;
1 Paulo, servo de Deus e apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, para promover a fé que é dos eleitos de Deus e o pleno conhecimento da verdade segundo a piedade.
2 unto the hope of eternal life, which Aloha the true counselled before the times of the ages,
2 Escrevo na esperança da vida eterna que o Deus que não pode mentir prometeu antes dos tempos eternos
3 and his word hath revealed in his time by our preaching, which was confided to me by the command of Aloha our Saviour:
3 e, no momento oportuno, manifestou a sua palavra mediante a pregação que me foi confiada por ordem de Deus, nosso Salvador,
4 To Titos, my true son in the common faith. Grace and peace from Aloha the Father and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha our Saviour.
4 a Tito, verdadeiro filho, segundo a fé comum. Que a graça e a paz, da parte de Deus Pai e de Cristo Jesus, nosso Salvador, estejam com você.
5 For this I left thee in Kreta, that those things which were wanting thou mayest rectify, and constitute presbyters in every city as I commanded thee.
5 Foi por esta causa que deixei você em Creta: para que pusesse em ordem as coisas restantes, bem como, em cada cidade, constituísse presbíteros, conforme prescrevi a você:
6 Him who is without blame, and is the husband of one wife, and who hath believing children, who are not vicious nor addicted to intemperance.
6 alguém que seja irrepreensível, marido de uma só mulher, que tenha filhos crentes que não são acusados de devassidão, nem são insubordinados.
7 For a presbyter is bound to be without blame, as the steward of Aloha; he shall not be led by the will of self, nor be irascible, nor a transgressor over wine, neither shall his hand be hasty to strike, nor shall he be a lover of sordid gains.
7 Porque é indispensável que o bispo, por ser encarregado das coisas de Deus, seja irrepreensível, não arrogante, alguém que não se irrita facilmente, não apegado ao vinho, não violento, nem ganancioso.
8 But he shall be a lover of guests, and a lover of the good, and be chaste, and equitable, and holy, and withholding himself from lusts;
8 Pelo contrário, o bispo deve ser hospitaleiro, amigo do bem, sensato, justo, piedoso, deve ter domínio de si,
9 and careful over the doctrine of the word of faith, that he may be able also to comfort by his teaching the healthy, and to reprove those who are contentious.
9 ser apegado à palavra fiel, que está de acordo com a doutrina, para que possa exortar pelo reto ensino e convencer os que contradizem este ensino.
10 For there are many who are not in subjection, and whose words are vain, and make the minds of men to err, especially those of the circumcision,
10 Porque existem muitos, especialmente os da circuncisão, que são insubordinados, falam coisas sem sentido e enganam os outros.
11 those, whose mouths it behoves to stop. Many houses they destroy, and teach what they ought not, for the sake of filthy gain.
11 É preciso fazer com que se calem, porque andam pervertendo casas inteiras, ensinando o que não devem, com a intenção vergonhosa de ganhar dinheiro.
12 One of them, a prophet of their own, hath said, The sons of Kreta are always liars, evil beasts, and lazy bellies.
12 Foi um dos cretenses, um próprio profeta deles, que disse: “Os cretenses são sempre mentirosos, feras terríveis, comilões preguiçosos.”
13 And true is this testimony. Wherefore reprove them severely, that they may be sound in the faith,
13 Este testemunho é verdadeiro. Portanto, repreenda-os severamente, para que sejam sadios na fé
14 nor cast themselves to the fables of the Jihudoyee, and to the mandates of men who hate the truth.
14 e não se ocupem com fábulas judaicas, nem com mandamentos de gente que se desvia da verdade.
15 For every thing is pure to the pure; but to those who are polluted and unfaithful nothing is pure; but their understanding and their conscience are polluted.
15 Todas as coisas são puras para os puros; mas, para os impuros e descrentes, nada é puro. Porque tanto a mente como a consciência deles estão corrompidas.
16 And they profess to know Aloha, but in their works they deny him, and are abominable and disobedient, and reprobate to every good work.
16 Afirmam que conhecem a Deus, mas o negam por meio do que fazem; é por isso que são abomináveis, desobedientes e reprovados para qualquer boa obra.
