The Peschito Syriac New Testament (ETHERIDGE) vs NAA
1 AND in those days the disciples being many, the Javnoyee disciples murmured against the Ebroyee because their widows were slighted in the daily ministration.
1 Naqueles dias, aumentando o número dos discípulos, houve murmuração dos helenistas contra os hebreus, porque as viúvas deles estavam sendo esquecidas na distribuição diária.
2 And the twelve apostles called all the assembly of the disciples and said to them, It is not fit that we should leave the word of Aloha, and serve tables.
2 Então os doze convocaram a comunidade dos discípulos e disseram: — Não é correto que nós abandonemos a palavra de Deus para servir às mesas.
3 Look out therefore, brethren, and choose seven men from you who have testimony concerning them, and are full of the Spirit of the Lord and wisdom, and we will appoint them over this matter.
3 Por isso, irmãos, escolham entre vocês sete homens de boa reputação, cheios do Espírito e de sabedoria, para os encarregarmos desse serviço.
4 And we will be constant in prayer, and in the ministration of the word.
4 Quanto a nós, nos consagraremos à oração e ao ministério da palavra.
5 And this saying was pleasing before all the people; and they chose Estephanos, a man who was full of faith and the Spirit of Holiness; and Philipos, and Prokoros, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmena, and Nikolos, a proselyte of Antiokia.
5 O parecer agradou a todos. Então elegeram Estêvão, homem cheio de fé e do Espírito Santo, Filipe, Prócoro, Nicanor, Timão, Pármenas e Nicolau, prosélito de Antioquia.
6 And these they set before the apostles: and while praying they laid upon them the hand.
6 Apresentaram estes homens aos apóstolos, que, orando, lhes impuseram as mãos.
7 And the word of Aloha increased, and the number of the disciples increased in Urishlem greatly: and much people of the Jihudoyee were obedient to the faith.
7 A palavra de Deus crescia e, em Jerusalém, o número dos discípulos aumentava. Também um grande grupo de sacerdotes obedecia à fé.
8 But Estephanos was filled with grace and power, and wrought signs and miracles among the people.
8 Estêvão, cheio de graça e de poder, fazia prodígios e grandes sinais entre o povo.
9 And men arose from the congregation which was called Libertinu, Kyrainoyee, and Aleksandroyee, and from Cilicia, and from Asia, and disputed with Estephanos,
9 Então alguns dos que eram da sinagoga chamada dos Libertos, dos cireneus, dos alexandrinos e dos da Cilícia e da província da Ásia se levantaram e discutiam com Estêvão.
10 and were not able to stand against the wisdom and the spirit which spake in him.
10 Mas eles não podiam resistir à sabedoria e ao Espírito, pelo qual ele falava.
11 Then they sent men and instructed them to say, We have heard him speak words of blasphemy against Musha and against Aloha.
11 Então subornaram alguns homens para que dissessem: — Ouvimos este homem proferir blasfêmias contra Moisés e contra Deus.
12 And they stirred up the people and the elders and the sophree, and came and rose upon him, and carried him away and brought him into the midst of the assembly.
12 Atiçaram o povo, os anciãos e os escribas e, investindo contra Estêvão, o agarraram e levaram ao Sinédrio.
13 AND witnesses of falsehood arose, and said, This man ceases not from speaking words contrary to the law and against this holy place.
13 Apresentaram testemunhas falsas, que disseram: — Este homem não para de falar contra o lugar santo e contra a lei.
14 For we have heard him say that this Jeshu Natsroya shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Musha delivered unto us.
14 Nós o ouvimos dizer que esse Jesus, o Nazareno, destruirá este lugar e mudará os costumes que Moisés nos deu.
15 And all they who sat in the assembly looked upon him, and saw his face as the face of an angel.
15 Todos os que estavam sentados no Sinédrio, fitando os olhos em Estêvão, viram o seu rosto como se fosse rosto de anjo.
