Atos 26

1 And Agripos said to Paulos, It is permitted thee to speak for thyself. Then Paulos stretched forth his hand and made defence, and said,
1 Depois Agripa disse a Paulo: É-te permitido fazer a tua defesa. Então Paulo, estendendo a mão, começou a sua defesa:
2 Of all that I am accused by the Jihudoyee, king Agripos, I consider myself happy, that before you I (have to) make defence.
2 Sinto-me feliz, ó rei Agripa, em poder defender-me hoje perante ti de todas as coisas de que sou acusado pelos judeus;
3 Especially because I know that you are conversant with all questions and laws of the Jihudoyee; therefore, I pray you with patient mind to hear me.
3 mormente porque és versado em todos os costumes e questões que há entre os judeus; pelo que te rogo que me ouças com paciência.
4 For the Jihudoyee themselves-if they would testify-know my manners from my youth, which were mine from the beginning among my people at Urishlem;
4 A minha vida, pois, desde a mocidade, o que tem sido sempre entre o meu povo e em Jerusalém, sabem-na todos os judeus,
5 because they of a long time were assured of me, and they know that in the high doctrine of the Pharishee I lived.
5 pois me conhecem desde o princípio e, se quiserem, podem dar testemunho de que, conforme a mais severa seita da nossa religião, vivi fariseu.
6 And now, concerning the hope of the promise that was made to our fathers by Aloha, stand I, and am judged.
6 E agora estou aqui para ser julgado por causa da esperança da promessa feita por Deus a nossos pais,
7 And for this hope (to which) our twelve tribes, with diligent prayers by day and night, are expecting to come, for this very hope am I accused by the Jihudoyee, king Agripos!
7 a qual as nossas doze tribos, servindo a Deus fervorosamente noite e dia, esperam alcançar; é por causa desta esperança, ó rei, que eu sou acusado pelos judeus.
8 What judge you; ought we not to believe that Aloha will raise the dead?
8 Por que é que se julga entre vós incrível que Deus ressuscite os mortos?
9 For I, at the first, proposed in my mind to do many things against the name of Jeshu Natsroya.
9 Eu, na verdade, cuidara que devia praticar muitas coisas contra o nome de Jesus, o nazareno;
10 This I also did in Urishlem. And many holy ones I cast into the house of the bound, by the authority which I had received from the great priests; and when they were killed by them, I participated with those who condemned them.
10 o que, com efeito, fiz em Jerusalém. Pois havendo recebido autoridade dos principais dos sacerdotes, não somente encerrei muitos dos santos em prisões, como também dei o meu voto contra eles quando os matavam.
11 And in every synagogue I was furious against them, while I constrained them to blaspheme the name of Jeshu; and, being filled with great wrath against them, I went forth unto other cities also to persecute them.
11 E, castigando-os muitas vezes por todas as sinagogas, obrigava-os a blasfemar; e enfurecido cada vez mais contra eles, perseguia-os até nas cidades estrangeiras.
12 And while going on this account to Darmsuk, with authority and permission from the great priests,
12 Indo com este encargo a Damasco, munido de poder e comissão dos principais sacerdotes,
13 at the dividing of the day, in the way, I saw from heaven, O king, shining upon me and upon all who were with me, a light which (was) more excellent than the sun.
13 ao meio-dia, ó rei vi no caminho uma luz do céu, que excedia o esplendor do sol, resplandecendo em torno de mim e dos que iam comigo.
14 And we fell all of us upon the earth; and I heard a voice that said to me in Hebrew, Shaol, Shaol, why persecutest thou me? It is hard to thee to kick against the pricks!
14 E, caindo nós todos por terra, ouvi uma voz que me dizia em língua hebráica: Saulo, Saulo, por que me persegues? Dura coisa te é recalcitrar contra os aguilhões.
15 And I said, Who art thou, my Lord? And he said, I am Jeshu Natsroya, whom thou persecutest.
15 Disse eu: Quem és, Senhor? Respondeu o Senhor: Eu sou Jesus, a quem tu persegues;
16 And he said to me, Stand upon thy feet, because for this I have appeared to thee, to appoint thee a minister and witness of that (for) which thou hast seen me, and (for) which thou shalt see me.
16 mas levanta-te e põe-te em pé; pois para isto te apareci, para te fazer ministro e testemunha tanto das coisas em que me tens visto como daquelas em que te hei de aparecer;
17 And I will deliver thee from the people of the Jihudoyee, and from the other nations to whom I send thee,
17 livrando-te deste povo e dos gentios, aos quais te envio,
18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto Aloha, and receive the forgiveness of sins, and a lot with the saints through faith, which (is) in me.
18 para lhes abrir os olhos a fim de que se convertam das trevas à luz, e do poder de Satanás a Deus, para que recebam remissão de pecados e herança entre aqueles que são santificados pela fé em mim.
19 Wherefore, king Agripos, I withstood not with perversity the heavenly vision,
19 Pelo que, ó rei Agripa, não fui desobediente à visão celestial,
20 but preached, at first to them who were in Darmsuk, and to them who were at Urishlem, and in all the districts of Jihud, and also to the Gentiles have I preached, that they should repent, and turn to Aloha, and do works worthy of repentance.
20 antes anunciei primeiramente aos que estão em Damasco, e depois em Jerusalém, e por toda a terra da Judéia e também aos gentios, que se arrependessem e se convertessem a Deus, praticando obras dignas de arrependimento.
21 And for these things the Jihudoyee seized me in the temple, and would have killed me;
21 Por causa disto os judeus me prenderam no templo e procuravam matar-me.
22 but Aloha hath helped me until this day; and, behold, I stand and testify to the small and to the great, yet nothing beyond Musha and the prophets do I speak, but those things which they said should come to pass;
22 Tendo, pois, alcançado socorro da parte de Deus, ainda até o dia de hoje permaneço, dando testemunho tanto a pequenos como a grandes, não dizendo nada senão o que os profetas e Moisés disseram que devia acontecer;
23 that the Meshiha should suffer, and should be the chief of the resurrection from the house of the dead, and should preach light to the people and to the nations.
23 isto é, como o Cristo devia padecer, e como seria ele o primeiro que, pela ressurreição dos mortos, devia anunciar a luz a este povo e também aos gentios.
24 AND as Paulos was thus making defence, Festos cried with a high voice, Thou art mad, Paulos; much learning hath made thee mad!
24 Fazendo ele deste modo a sua defesa, disse Festo em alta voz: Estás louco, Paulo; as muitas letras te fazem delirar.
25 Paulos said to him, I am not mad, victorious Festos, but words of truth and righteousness I speak.
25 Mas Paulo disse: Não deliro, ó excelentíssimo Festo, antes digo palavras de verdade e de perfeito juízo.
26 And king Agripos also, especially, knoweth concerning these things; and therefore speak I with openness before him; because not one of these things I think have been hidden from him; for they were not done in secrecy.
26 Porque o rei, diante de quem falo com liberdade, sabe destas coisas, pois não creio que nada disto lhe é oculto; porque isto não se fez em qualquer canto.
27 Believest thou, king Agripos, the prophets? I know that thou believest.
27 Crês tu nos profetas, ó rei Agripa? Sei que crês.
28 King Agripos said to him, (Within) a little thou persuadest me to become a Christian.
28 Disse Agripa a Paulo: Por pouco me persuades a fazer-me cristão.
29 And Paulos said, I would from Aloha that in little and in much, not only thou, but also all who hear me to-day, were as I am, except these bonds.
29 Respondeu Paulo: Prouvera a Deus que, ou por pouco ou por muito, não somente tu, mas também todos quantos hoje me ouvem, se tornassem tais qual eu sou, menos estas cadeias.
30 And the king arose, and the governor, and Bernike, and those who sat with them:
30 E levantou-se o rei, e o governador, e Berenice, e os que com eles estavam sentados,
31 and when they were removed thence they spake one with another, and said, Nothing that is worthy of death or of bonds hath this man done.
31 e retirando-se falavam uns com os outros, dizendo: Este homem não fez nada digno de morte ou prisão.
32 And Agripos said to Festos, This man could have been dismissed, if he had not called the appeal of Caesar.
32 Então Agripa disse a Festo: Este homem bem podia ser solto, se não tivesse apelado para César.
