1 And we separated from them and voyaged directly unto Ko the island, and the day after we came to Rodos, and from thence to Patara;
1 Nós nos despedimos deles e fomos embora, navegando diretamente para a ilha de Cós. No dia seguinte paramos no porto de Rodes e dali continuamos até a cidade de Pátara,
2 and we found there a ship which was going to Punike, and we ascended into her and voyaged.
2 onde encontramos um navio que ia para a Fenícia. Então embarcamos nele e seguimos viagem.
3 And coming near Kypros the island, we left it on the left hand and came unto Syria, and thence came we to Tsur: for there was the ship to relieve from her burden.
3 Quando já podíamos ver a ilha de Chipre, navegamos ao sul daquela ilha e seguimos em direção à província da Síria. Chegamos à cidade de Tiro, onde desembarcamos, pois o navio precisava ser descarregado.
4 And having found disciples there, we sojourned with them seven days. And these said daily unto Paulos in the Spirit, That he should not go unto Urishlem.
4 Naquela cidade encontramos alguns cristãos e ficamos com eles uma semana. Então, avisados pelo Espírito Santo, eles disseram a Paulo que não fosse para Jerusalém.
5 And after those days we departed to go on the way. And they accompanied us, all of them, they and their wives and their children, till without the city, and kneeled upon their knees on the sea shore, and prayed. And we kissed one another,
5 Mas, quando chegou o dia de irmos embora, nós continuamos a nossa viagem. Aí aqueles irmãos, com as esposas e filhos, nos acompanharam até fora da cidade; e todos nós nos ajoelhamos ali na praia e oramos.
6 and we ascended to the ship, and they returned to their homes.
6 Depois de nos despedirmos, embarcamos no navio, e eles voltaram para casa.
7 But we voyaged from Tsur, and came to Aku the city, and gave the salutation to the brethren who were there, and abode among them one day.
7 Seguimos viagem, navegando da cidade de Tiro para Ptolemaida. Ali encontramos e cumprimentamos os irmãos e passamos um dia com eles.
8 And the day after we departed and came to Cesarea; and we entered and abode in the house of Philipos the preacher, he who was of the seven.
8 No dia seguinte partimos e chegamos à cidade de Cesareia. Ali fomos para a casa do evangelista Filipe e ficamos com ele. Filipe era um dos sete homens que haviam sido escolhidos em Jerusalém.
9 And he had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
9 Ele tinha quatro filhas solteiras que profetizavam.
10 And when we had been there many days, there came down from Jihud a certain prophet whose name was Agabos.
10 Alguns dias depois da nossa chegada, um profeta chamado Ágabo veio da região da Judeia.
11 And he came in to us, and took the loins'-girdle of Paulos, and bound his own feet and his hands, and said, Thus saith the Spirit of Holiness, So the man the master of this girdle will the Jihudoyee bind in Urishlem; and they will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
11 Ele chegou perto de nós, pegou o cinto de Paulo, amarrou os próprios pés e as próprias mãos e disse: — O Espírito Santo diz isto: em Jerusalém o dono deste cinto será amarrado assim pelos judeus e será entregue nas mãos dos não judeus.
12 And when we heard these words, we and the sons of the place entreated of him not to go unto Urishlem.
12 Quando ouvimos isso, nós e os irmãos de Cesareia pedimos com insistência a Paulo que não fosse para Jerusalém.
13 THEN answered Paulos and said, What do you, weeping and bruising my heart? For not to be bound only am I prepared, but also to die in Urishlem, for the sake of the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
13 Mas ele respondeu: — Por que vocês choram assim e me deixam tão triste? Eu estou pronto não somente para ser amarrado, mas até para morrer em Jerusalém pela causa do Senhor Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded by us, we desisted, and said, The will of our Lord be done.
14 E não conseguimos convencê-lo a não ir. Então desistimos e dissemos: — Que seja feita a vontade do Senhor!
15 And after those days we prepared and went up to Urishlem.
15 Depois de passarmos alguns dias ali, juntamos as nossas coisas e fomos para Jerusalém.
16 And there went with us men, disciples, from Cesarea, who conducted with them a certain brother of the first disciples whose name was Mnason, and he was from Kypros, to receive us into his house.
16 Alguns irmãos da cidade de Cesareia nos acompanharam e nos levaram à casa onde íamos ficar hospedados. O dono da casa era Menasom, natural da ilha de Chipre. Fazia muito tempo que ele era cristão.
17 And when we were come to Urishlem, the brethren received us joyfully.
17 Quando chegamos a Jerusalém, os irmãos nos receberam com muita alegria.
18 And the day following we entered with Paulos to Jakub, while all the presbyters were with him.
18 No dia seguinte Paulo foi conosco até a casa de Tiago para se encontrar com ele. E todos os presbíteros da igreja estavam presentes ali.
19 And we gave them salutation. And Paulos recounted to them in order what Aloha had done among the Gentiles by his ministry.
19 Então Paulo os cumprimentou e deu um relatório completo de tudo o que Deus tinha feito por meio dele entre os não judeus.
20 And when they heard, they glorified Aloha. And they said to him, Thou seest, our brother, how many myriads there are in Jihud who believe, and all of them are zealous for the law.
20 Depois de o ouvirem, todos eles deram graças a Deus e disseram a Paulo: — Veja bem, irmão! Há milhares de judeus que se tornaram cristãos e todos eles são fiéis à
21 But it hath been said to them of thee, that thou teachest all the Jihudoyee who are among the Gentiles to remove from Musha; telling them that they should not circumcise their sons, nor walk in the customs of the law.
21 Eles ouviram dizer que você ensina os judeus que moram em outros países a abandonarem a Lei, dizendo a eles que não circuncidem os seus filhos, nem respeitem os costumes dos judeus.
22 On this account, when they hear that thou art come hither, do that which we tell thee.
22 O que vamos fazer? Com certeza eles já ouviram dizer que você chegou.
23 We have four men who have a vow to be purified.
23 Portanto, faça o que vamos dizer: estão aqui entre nós quatro homens que têm de cumprir uma promessa a Deus.
24 Take them, and go, purify with them, and lay out upon them the expenses, that they may shave their heads; and it will be known to every man that what hath been said against thee is false, and that thou fulfillest and keepest the law.
24 Então vá, tome parte com eles na cerimônia de purificação e pague a despesa para que eles possam rapar a cabeça . Assim todos saberão que não é verdade o que se diz de você. Pelo contrário, vão ficar sabendo que, de fato, você vive de acordo com a Lei de Moisés.
25 Concerning those of the Gentiles who believe, we wrote that they should keep themselves from sacrifices, and from fornication, and from the strangled, and from blood.
25 Mas, quanto aos não judeus que se tornaram cristãos, nós já mandamos uma carta a eles, dizendo o seguinte: “Não comam carne de animais que foram oferecidos em sacrifício aos ídolos, nem sangue, nem carne de nenhum animal que tenha sido estrangulado. E também não pratiquem imoralidade sexual.”
26 Then Paul took those men the day after, and was purified with them. And he entered and went into the temple, making known to them the fulfillment of the days of the purification, so that an oblation might be offered for each man of them.
26 Então Paulo falou com os quatro homens e, no dia seguinte, tomou parte com eles na cerimônia de purificação. Depois entrou na área do Templo para avisar quando iam terminar os dias da purificação, isto é, a ocasião em que cada um dos quatro homens deveria oferecer o seu sacrifício.
27 And when the seventh day was come the Jihudoyee who were from Asia saw him in the temple, and stirred up against him all the people. And they lifted their hands against him,
27 Quando os sete dias da purificação estavam para acabar, alguns judeus da província da Ásia viram Paulo na área do Templo . Então atiçaram a multidão, agarraram Paulo
28 crying out, and saying, Men, sons of Israel, help! This is the man who contrary to our people teacheth every where, and contrary to the law, and against this place. And also Aramoyee hath he brought into the temple, and profaned this holy place.
28 e começaram a gritar: — Israelitas, nos ajudem! Este é o homem que vai pelo mundo inteiro falando a todas as pessoas e dizendo mentiras contra o povo de Israel, a
29 For they had before seen with him Trophimus the Ephesian in the city, and supposed that with Paulos he had entered the temple.
29 Eles disseram isso porque tinham visto Trófimo, que era de Éfeso, na cidade com Paulo. E pensavam que Paulo o havia levado para dentro da área do Templo.
30 And the whole city was commoved, and all the people assembled, and they laid hold of Paulos, and dragged him without from the temple; and instantly the gates were shut.
30 A confusão se espalhou por toda a cidade, e o povo veio correndo de todos os lados. Eles agarraram Paulo, e o arrastaram para fora da área do Templo, e fecharam os portões.
31 And while the multitude sought to kill him, the tribune of the cohort heard that the whole city was agitated.
31 Quando a multidão já ia matar Paulo, o comandante das tropas romanas recebeu a notícia de que toda a cidade de Jerusalém estava em revolta.
32 And forthwith took he a centurion and many soldiers and ran upon them; and when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they desisted from beating Paulos.
32 Então reuniu depressa alguns oficiais e soldados e correu para o meio do povo. Quando a multidão viu o comandante e os soldados, parou logo de bater em Paulo.
33 And the tribune drew near and took him, and commanded them to bind him with two chains. And he asked concerning him who (he was), and what he had done?
33 Aí o comandante chegou perto de Paulo, prendeu-o e mandou amarrá-lo com duas correntes. Depois perguntou: — Quem é este homem? O que foi que ele fez?
34 And men from the crowd cried against him variously, and because of their crying he was not able to know what was the truth; and he commanded that they should lead him to the fortress.
34 Mas na multidão uns gritavam uma coisa, outros gritavam outra. A desordem era tão grande, que o comandante não pôde descobrir o que havia acontecido. Então mandou que os soldados levassem Paulo para dentro da fortaleza .
35 And as Paulos came to the stairs the soldiers carried him, on account of the violence of the people:
35 Quando chegaram perto da escada, os soldados tiveram de carregar Paulo por causa da violência da multidão
36 for after him was much people; and they cried, and said, Away with him!
36 que vinha atrás, gritando: — Mata! Mata!
37 And as they came to enter into the fortress, Paulos himself said to the tribune, May I be permitted to speak to the people?
37 Quando iam levar Paulo para dentro da fortaleza, ele disse ao comandante: — Me dê licença para falar uma coisa com o senhor. O comandante perguntou: — Você sabe falar
38 But he said to him, Javanith knowest thou? Art thou not that Metsroya who before these days stirred up and led forth into the waste four thousand men workers of evils?
38 Por acaso você é aquele egípcio que algum tempo atrás começou uma revolução e levou quatro mil terroristas armados para o deserto?
39 Paulos said to him, I am a man a Jihudoya from Tarsos of Cilicia, an illustrious city in which I was born: I pray you permit me to speak to the people.
39 Paulo respondeu: — Eu sou judeu, nascido em Tarso, cidade muito importante da região da Cilícia. Por favor, me deixe falar com o povo.
40 And when he had permitted him, Paulos stood upon the stairs, and signed to them with his hand; and when they had ceased, he spoke to them in Hebrew, and said to them,
40 Então o comandante deixou. Paulo ficou de pé na escadaria e fez um sinal com a mão para o povo, pedindo silêncio. Quando todos ficaram calados, Paulo começou a falar em hebraico . Ele disse:
