1 So you also, wives, be subject to your own husbands, that them who have not obeyed the word, by your comely manners without labour you may win,
1 Assim também você, esposa, deve obedecer ao seu marido a fim de que, se ele não crê na mensagem de Deus, seja levado a crer pelo modo de você agir. Não será preciso dizer nada
2 while they see that with reverence and with chastity you conduct yourselves.
2 porque ele verá como a conduta de você é honesta e respeitosa.
3 Neither be adorned with outward adornings of the entwinement of your hair, or necklaces of gold, or of excelling vestments,
3 Não procure ficar bonita usando enfeites, penteados exagerados, joias ou vestidos caros.
4 but adorn yourselves in the hidden man of the heart, with the spirit of gentleness which perisheth not, the ornament of excellence before Aloha.
4 Pelo contrário, a beleza de você deve estar no coração, pois ela não se perde; ela é a beleza de um espírito calmo e delicado, que tem muito valor para Deus.
5 For so also of old the holy women who confided in Aloha adorned themselves, and were subject to their husbands,
5 Porque era assim que costumavam se enfeitar as mulheres do passado, as mulheres que eram dedicadas a Deus e que punham a sua esperança nele. Elas eram obedientes ao seu marido.
6 even as Sara was subject to Abraham, and called him My Lord: of her be you the daughters in good works, not being perturbed by any fear.
6 Sara foi assim; ela obedecia a Abraão e o chamava de “meu senhor”. Você será agora sua filha se praticar o bem e não tiver medo de nada.
7 AND you, men, dwell likewise with your wives with knowledge, and as feeble vessels in honour hold them; for they also with you inherit the gift of the life of eternity; that you be not hindered in your prayers.
7 Também você, marido, na vida em comum com a esposa, reconheça que a mulher é o sexo mais fraco e que por isso deve ser tratada com respeito. Porque a esposa também vai receber, junto com você, o dom da vida, que é dado por Deus. Aja assim para que nada atrapalhe as orações de vocês.
8 But, finally be all unanimous, and suffer with those who suffer, and love one another, and be merciful and gentle;
8 Finalmente, que todos vocês tenham o mesmo modo de pensar e de sentir. Amem uns aos outros e sejam educados e humildes uns com os outros.
9 and let no man render evil for evil, nor invective for invective, but, that which is contrary to them, bless: for unto this are you called, that the blessing you may inherit.
9 Não paguem mal com mal, nem ofensa com ofensa. Pelo contrário, paguem a ofensa com uma bênção porque, quando Deus os chamou , ele prometeu dar uma bênção a vocês.
10 Who then willeth life, And loveth good days to see? Let him keep his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak not guile.
10 Como dizem as Escrituras Sagradas : “Quem quiser gozar a vida e ter dias felizes não fale coisas más e não conte mentiras.
11 Let him depart from evil and do good, And seek peace and run after it.
11 Afaste-se do mal e faça o bem; procure a paz e faça tudo para alcançá-la.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, And his ears, to hear them; And the face of the Lord is against the wicked.
12 Pois o Senhor olha com atenção as pessoas honestas e ouve os seus pedidos, porém é contra os que fazem o mal.”
13 And who (is he) who will do you evil if you be emulous of good (actions)?
13 Se, de fato, vocês quiserem fazer o bem, quem lhes fará o mal?
14 And (yet) if you suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are happy. And you will not fear them who would make you afraid, nor be shaken.
14 Como vocês serão felizes se tiverem de sofrer por fazerem o que é certo! Não tenham medo de ninguém, nem fiquem preocupados.
15 But sanctify in your hearts the Lord Meshiha. AND be prepared to make defence to every one who shall seek of you speech concerning the hope of the faith, with meekness and with seriousness, while you have a good conscience;
15 Tenham no coração de vocês respeito por Cristo e o tratem como Senhor. Estejam sempre prontos para responder a qualquer pessoa que pedir que expliquem a esperança que vocês têm.
16 that as they speak against you as against evil men, they may be made ashamed who have traduced your good conversations in the Meshiha.
16 Porém façam isso com educação e respeito. Tenham sempre a consciência limpa. Assim, quando vocês forem insultados, os que falarem mal da boa conduta de vocês como seguidores de Cristo ficarão envergonhados.
17 For it helpeth you (if) while doing goodly works you have to sustain evil, if so it be the will of Aloha, and not while working evils.
17 Porque é melhor sofrer por fazer o bem, se for esta a vontade de Deus, do que por fazer o mal.
18 Because the Meshiha also once died on account of sins, the just on account of sinners, that he might bring us unto Aloha. And dead in the body and alive in the Spirit,
18 Pois o próprio Cristo sofreu uma vez por todas pelos pecados, um homem bom em favor dos maus, para levar vocês a Deus. Ele morreu no corpo, mas foi ressuscitado no espírito,
19 he preached unto those souls who were held in sheul,
19 e no espírito foi e pregou aos espíritos que estavam presos .
20 those who before were disobedient in the days of Nuch; while the long-suffering of Aloha commanded that he should make the ark, upon the hope of their conversion, and eight souls only entered therein, and were saved in the waters.
20 Estes eram os espíritos daqueles que não tinham obedecido a Deus, quando ele ficou esperando com paciência nos dias em que Noé estava construindo a barca. As poucas pessoas que estavam nela, oito ao todo, foram salvas pela água.
21 After which very type also you are saved in baptism, not while you cleanse the body from filth, but while you make confession of 6 Aloha with a pure conscience, and of the resurrection of Jeshu Meshiha;
21 Aquela água representava o batismo, que agora salva vocês. Esse batismo não é lavar a sujeira do corpo, mas é o compromisso feito com Deus, o qual vem de uma consciência limpa. Essa salvação vem por meio da ressurreição de Jesus Cristo,
22 who is exalted unto heaven, and is at the right hand of Aloha, and unto whom are subject angels and authorities and powers.
22 que foi para o céu e está do lado direito de Deus, governando os anjos, as autoridades e os poderes do céu .
