1 The word which was made of the Lord to Jeremy (or The word of the Lord which was made to Jeremiah), when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashur, the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah, the priest, the son of Maaseiah, and (they) said,
1 Palavra que veio para Jeremias da parte do SENHOR, quando o rei Zedequias lhe enviou a Pasur, o filho de Malquias, e Sofonias, o filho de Maaseias, o sacerdote, dizendo:
2 Ask thou the Lord for us, for Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, fighteth against us; if in hap the Lord do with us by all his marvels, and he go away from us, (or if perhaps the Lord shall do one of his marvels, \+em or one of his miracles\+em*, for us, and he shall go away from us).
2 Indague, eu te rogo, ao SENHOR por nós, pois Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, faz guerra contra nós; para que o SENHOR opere conosco conforme todas as suas obras maravilhosas, e o faça retirar-se de nós.
3 And Jeremy said to them, Thus ye shall say to Zedekiah,
3 Então disse-lhes Jeremias: Desta forma direis a Zedequias.
4 The Lord God of Israel saith these things, Lo! I shall turn (back upon you) the instruments of battle that be in your hands, and with which ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against Chaldees, that besiege you in the compass of [the] walls, (or and \+em against\+em* the Chaldeans, who besiege you all around the walls); and I shall gather those together in the midst of this city.
4 Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Eis que eu farei retroceder as armas de guerra que estão em vossas mãos, com as quais vós lutais contra o rei de Babilônia, e contra os caldeus, que vos sitiam do lado de fora dos muros, e eu os reunirei no meio desta cidade.
5 And I shall overcome you in [a] hand stretched forth, and in [a] strong arm, (or And I shall overcome you with a hand stretched forth, and with a strong arm), and in strong vengeance, and in indignation, and in great wrath;
5 E eu lutarei contra vós com mão estendida, e com braço forte, e em ira, e em fúria, e em grande cólera.
6 and I shall smite the dwellers of this city (or and I shall strike down the inhabitants of this city), (yea), men and beasts shall die by great pestilence.
6 E eu afligirei os habitantes desta cidade, tanto o homem quanto o animal. Eles morrerão por causa de uma grande peste.
7 And after these things, saith the Lord, I shall give Zedekiah, king of Judah, and his servants, and his people, and (those) that be left in this city from pestilence, and sword, and hunger, in(to) the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and in(to) the hand of their enemies, and in(to) the hand of men seeking the life of them; and he shall smite them by the sharpness of sword (or and he shall strike them down by the sharpness of the sword); and he shall not be bowed, neither shall spare, neither shall have mercy.
7 E após isso, diz o SENHOR, eu entregarei Zedequias, rei de Judá, e os seus servos, e o povo, e os que nesta cidade restarem da peste, da espada, e da fome, na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, e na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão daqueles que buscam suas vidas. E ele os atingirá com a lâmina da espada. Ele não os poupará, nem terá piedade, nem terá misericórdia.
8 And thou shalt say to this people, The Lord God saith these things, Lo! I give before you the way of life, and the way of death.
8 E para este povo tu dirás: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu coloco perante vós o caminho de vida, e o caminho de morte.
9 He that dwelleth in this city, shall die by sword, and hunger, and pestilence; but he that goeth out, and fleeth over to [the] Chaldees that besiege you, shall live, and his life shall be as a prey to him. (He who liveth in this city, shall die by the sword, and hunger, and pestilence; but he who goeth out, and fleeth over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, shall live, but his own life shall be his only prey.)
9 Aquele que permanecer nesta cidade morrerá pela espada, e pela fome, e pela peste. Porém aquele que sair e for para os caldeus que vos sitiam, viverá, e sua vida será para ele como um despojo.
10 For I have set my face on this city into evil, and not into good, saith the Lord, (or For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord); it shall be given in(to) the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
10 Porque eu coloquei a minha face contra esta cidade para o mal, e não para o bem, diz o SENHOR. Ela será dada na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a queimará a fogo.
11 And thou shall say to the house of the king of Judah, the house of David, Hear ye the word of the Lord. (And \+em thou shall say\+em* to the house of the king of Judah, Ye house of David, hear ye the word of the Lord.)
11 E com relação à casa do rei de Judá, dize: Ouvi vós a palavra do SENHOR.
12 The Lord saith these things, Deem ye early doom, and deliver ye him that is oppressed by violence from the hand of the false challenger; lest peradventure mine indignation go out as fire, and be kindled, and none be that quench, for the malice of your studies. (The Lord saith these things, Early judge ye judgement, and rescue ye him who is oppressed with violence from the hand of the oppressor; lest perhaps my indignation go out like a fire, and be kindled, and there is no one who can quench it, for the malice of your deeds.)
12 Ó casa de Davi, assim diz o SENHOR: Executai juízo na manhã, e livrai aquele que é espoliado da mão do opressor, para que a minha fúria não saia como fogo, e queime de tal modo que ninguém possa apagá-lo, por causa do mal de vossos feitos.
13 Lo! I do to thee, dwelleress of the firm valley, and plain, saith the Lord, [ye] which say, Who shall smite us, and who shall enter into our houses? (Behold! I am against thee, O dwelleress of the firm valley, and O rock of the plain, saith the Lord, Yea, ye who say, Who shall strike us, and who shall enter into our houses?)
13 Eis que eu sou contra ti, diz o SENHOR, ó habitante do vale, e rocha da planície, que dizeis: Quem irá descer contra nós? Ou quem irá adentrar nossas habitações?
14 And I shall visit on you by the fruit of your studies, saith the Lord; and I shall kindle fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things in the compass thereof. (And I shall punish you for the fruit of your deeds, saith the Lord; and I shall kindle a fire in the forest there, and it shall devour everything all around it.)
14 Porém, eu vos punirei conforme o fruto de vossos feitos, diz o SENHOR, e atearei um fogo na sua floresta, e ele devorará todas as coisas em todas as direções ao seu redor.
