1 The words of Amos be these, that was in the shepherds’ things of Tekoa, which he saw on Israel, in the days of Uzziah, that is, Azariah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, son of Jehoash, king of Israel, before two years of the earth-moving. (\+em These be\+em* the words of Amos, a shepherd from Tekoa, what he said about Israel, in the days of Uzziah, the king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Jehoash, the king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.)
1 Esta é a mensagem a respeito do povo de Israel que Deus deu a Amós, pastor de ovelhas da cidade de Tecoa. Isso aconteceu dois anos antes do terremoto, quando Uzias era rei de Judá, e Jeroboão, filho de Joás, era rei de Israel.
2 And he said, The Lord shall roar from Zion, and shall give his voice from Jerusalem; and the fair things of shepherds mourned, and the top of Carmel was made dry, (or and the pastures of the shepherds were parched, and the top of Mount Carmel was made dry).
2 Amós disse: “Do monte o e a sua voz parece o trovão. Os pastos murcham, e tudo seca no monte Carmelo.”
3 The Lord saith these things, On three great trespasses of Damascus, and on four, I shall not convert it, for it threshed Gilead in iron wains. (The Lord saith these things, For the three great trespasses of Damascus, and for the fourth, I shall not turn away their punishment, for they carved, \+em or sliced\+em*, up the people of Gilead with iron wagons, \+em or with iron sleds\+em*.)
3 O Senhor Deus diz: — O povo de Damasco tem cometido tantos pecados, tantos mesmo, que eu tenho de castigá-los. Eles torturaram o povo de Gileade, fazendo passar sobre eles rodas com pontas de ferro.
4 And I shall send fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the houses of Benhadad.
4 Por isso, eu vou pôr fogo no palácio do rei Hazael, e esse mesmo fogo destruirá também as fortalezas do rei Ben-Hadade.
5 And I shall all-break the bar(s), [or locks], of Damascus, and I shall lose a dweller from the field of idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of lust and of lechery; and the people of Syria shall be translated to Kir, saith the Lord. (And I shall altogether break the locks of Damascus, and I shall destroy the inhabitants of the field of Aven, and him who holdeth the sceptre of the house of Eden; and the people of Syria, \+em or of Aram\+em*, shall be carried away captive to Kir, saith the Lord.)

6 And the Lord saith these things, On three great trespasses of Gaza, and on four, I shall not convert it, for it translated perfect captivity, to close that together in Idumea. (And the Lord saith these things, For the three great trespasses of Gaza, and for the fourth, I shall not turn away their punishment, for they carried away their Israelite captives, and delivered up, \+em or sold\+em*, them to Edom.)
6 O Senhor Deus diz: — O povo de Gaza tem cometido tantos pecados, tantos mesmo, que eu tenho de castigá-los. Eles levaram como prisioneiro todo o povo de uma região e os venderam como escravos ao povo de Edom.
7 And I shall send fire into the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof. (And I shall send fire onto the \+em city\+em* walls of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses there.)
7 Por isso, eu vou pôr fogo nas muralhas de Gaza, e esse mesmo fogo destruirá também as fortalezas daquela cidade.
8 And I shall lose the dwellers of Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre of Ashkelon; and I shall turn mine hand on Ekron, and the remnants of Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God. (And I shall destroy the inhabitants of Ashdod, and him who holdeth the sceptre of Ashkelon; and I shall turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnants of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.)
8 Vou acabar com os reis de Asdode e de Asquelom. Destruirei a cidade de Ecrom e acabarei com todos os outros filisteus. Eu, o Senhor , falei.
9 The Lord God saith these things, On three great trespasses of Tyre, and on four, I shall not convert it, for they closed together perfect captivity in Idumea, and had not mind on the bond of peace of brethren. (The Lord God saith these things, For the three great trespasses of Tyre, and for the fourth, I shall not turn away their punishment, for they delivered up, \+em or sold\+em*, their Israelite captives to Edom, and did not remember their covenant with their kinsmen.)
9 O Senhor Deus diz: — O povo de Tiro tem cometido tantos pecados, tantos mesmo, que eu tenho de castigá-los. Levaram como prisioneiro para Edom todo o povo de uma região com o qual tinham feito um acordo de amizade.
10 And I shall send fire into the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof. (And I shall send fire onto the \+em city\+em* walls of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses there.)
10 Por isso, eu vou pôr fogo nas muralhas de Tiro, e esse mesmo fogo destruirá também as fortalezas daquela cidade.
11 The Lord saith these things, On three great trespasses of Edom, and on four, I shall not convert it, for it pursued by sword his brother, and defouled the mercy of him, and poured further his strong vengeance, and kept his indignation till into without end. (The Lord saith these things, For the three great trespasses of Edom, and for the fourth, I shall not turn away their punishment, for they pursued their own kinsmen with swords, and defiled their own mercy or and gave them no mercy, and poured out more of their strong vengeance, and kept their indignation kindled forevermore.)
11 O Senhor Deus diz: — O povo do país de Edom tem cometido tantos pecados, tantos mesmo, que eu tenho de castigá-los. Fizeram guerra contra os seus irmãos , os israelitas, e não tiveram dó nem piedade. A raiva dos edomitas não parou, e eles conservaram o seu ódio para sempre.
12 And I shall send fire into Teman, and it shall devour the houses of Bozrah.
12 Por isso, eu vou pôr fogo na cidade de Temã, e esse mesmo fogo destruirá também as fortalezas de Bosra.
13 The Lord saith these things, On three great trespasses of the sons of Ammon, and on four, I shall not convert him, for he carved the women with child of Gilead, for to alarge his term. (The Lord saith these things, For the three great trespasses of Ammon, and for the fourth, I shall not turn away their punishment, for they carved up the women with child in Gilead, in order to enlarge their boundaries.)
13 O Senhor Deus diz: — O povo do país de Amom tem cometido tantos pecados, tantos mesmo, que eu tenho de castigá-los. Na guerra para conquistar mais terras na região de Gileade, eles rasgaram as barrigas de mulheres grávidas.
14 And I shall kindle fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the houses thereof, in yelling in the day of battle, and in whirlwind in the day of moving together. (And I shall send fire onto the \+em city\+em* walls of Rabbah, and it shall devour its houses, and there shall be shouting on the day of battle, and in the great moving, \+em or in the tumult\+em*, on the day of the whirlwind.)
14 Por isso, eu vou pôr fogo nas muralhas de Rabá, e esse mesmo fogo destruirá também as fortalezas daquela cidade. Haverá batalhas violentas e gritos de homens lutando.
15 And Malcham shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord. (And their king shall go into captivity, he and his leaders together, saith the Lord.)
15 O rei e as autoridades serão levados como prisioneiros. Eu, o Senhor , falei.
