1 Algum tempo depois, Deus pôs Abraão à prova. “Abraão!”, Deus chamou. “Sim”, respondeu Abraão. “Aqui estou!”
2 The|strong="H5921" Lord said, ‘Take|strong="H3947" your|strong="H3947" son|strong="H1121", your|strong="H3947" only|strong="H3173" son|strong="H1121" Isaac|strong="H3327", whom you|strong="H5921" love, and|strong="H1121" go|strong="H3212" to|strong="H3212" the|strong="H5921" land of|strong="H1121" Moriah|strong="H4179", and|strong="H1121" offer|strong="H5927" him|strong="H5921" there|strong="H8033" as|strong="H5927" a|strong="H3068" burnt-offering on|strong="H5921" one|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H5921" mountains|strong="H2022" which|strong="H8033" I|strong="H5921" will|strong="H1121" show|strong="H4994" you|strong="H5921".’
2 Deus disse: “Tome seu filho, seu único filho, Isaque, a quem você tanto ama, e vá à terra de Moriá. Lá, em um dos montes que eu lhe mostrarei, ofereça-o como holocausto”.

3 Na manhã seguinte, Abraão se levantou cedo e preparou seu jumento. Levou consigo dois de seus servos e seu filho Isaque. Cortou lenha para o fogo do holocausto e partiu para o lugar que Deus tinha indicado.

4 No terceiro dia da viagem, Abraão levantou os olhos e viu o lugar de longe.
5 he|strong="H5704" said to|strong="H5704" his|strong="H7725" servants|strong="H5288", ‘Stay|strong="H3427" here|strong="H6311" with|strong="H5973" the|strong="H3541" donkey|strong="H2543", while|strong="H5704" I|strong="H5704" and|strong="H7725" the|strong="H3541" boy|strong="H5288" go|strong="H3212" over|strong="H3427" there|strong="H3427". 5 “Fiquem aqui com o jumento”, disse ele aos servos. “O rapaz e eu iremos mais adiante. Vamos adorar e depois voltaremos.”
6 Then|strong="H3947" Abraham|strong="H3947" took|strong="H3947" the|strong="H5921" wood|strong="H6086" for|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" burnt-offering and|strong="H1121" laid|strong="H7760" it|strong="H7760" on|strong="H5921" Isaac|strong="H3327", his|strong="H7760" son|strong="H1121". He|strong="H8147" took|strong="H3947" the|strong="H5921" fire and|strong="H1121" the|strong="H5921" knife|strong="H3979", and|strong="H1121" they|strong="H5921" both|strong="H8147" went|strong="H3212" on|strong="H5921" together|strong="H3162".
6 Abraão pôs a lenha para o holocausto nos ombros de Isaque, e ele próprio levou o fogo e a faca. Enquanto os dois caminhavam juntos,
7 Isaac|strong="H3327" spoke to|strong="H1121" Abraham his|strong="H3327" father|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" said, ‘My father|strong="H1121"!’ and|strong="H1121" Abraham answered, ‘Yes|strong="H2009", my son|strong="H1121".’ Isaac|strong="H3327" said, ‘Here|strong="H2009" is|strong="H2009" the|strong="H2009" fire and|strong="H1121" the|strong="H2009" wood|strong="H6086", but|strong="H2009" where|strong="H2009" is|strong="H2009" the|strong="H2009" lamb|strong="H7716" for|strong="H6086" a|strong="H3068" burnt-offering?’
7 Isaque se virou para Abraão e disse: “Pai?”. “Sim, meu filho”, respondeu Abraão. “Temos fogo e lenha”, disse Isaque. “Mas onde está o cordeiro para o holocausto?”
8 Abraham answered, ‘My|strong="H7200" son|strong="H1121", God will|strong="H1121" himself provide|strong="H7200" a|strong="H3068" lamb|strong="H7716" for|strong="H1121" a|strong="H3068" burnt-offering.’ So|strong="H7200" the|strong="H7200" two|strong="H8147" went|strong="H3212" on|strong="H7200" together|strong="H3162".
8 “Deus providenciará o cordeiro para o holocausto, meu filho”, respondeu Abraão. E continuaram a caminhar juntos.
9 When|strong="H1121" they|strong="H8033" came to|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" place|strong="H4725" of|strong="H1121" which|strong="H8033" God had|strong="H3327" told|strong="H7760" him|strong="H5921", Abraham built|strong="H1129" the|strong="H5921" altar|strong="H4196" there|strong="H8033" and|strong="H1121" laid|strong="H7760" the|strong="H5921" wood|strong="H6086" on|strong="H5921" it|strong="H7760" and|strong="H1121" bound|strong="H6123" Isaac|strong="H3327" his|strong="H7760" son|strong="H1121" and|strong="H1121" laid|strong="H7760" him|strong="H5921" on|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" altar|strong="H4196" upon|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" wood|strong="H6086".
9 Quando chegaram ao lugar que Deus havia indicado, Abraão construiu um altar e arrumou a lenha sobre ele. Em seguida, amarrou seu filho Isaque e o colocou no altar, sobre a lenha.

10 Então, pegou a faca para sacrificar o filho.
11 But|strong="H2009" the|strong="H3068" messenger|strong="H4397" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* called|strong="H7121" to|strong="H3068" him|strong="H7121" from|strong="H4480" heaven|strong="H8064", saying, ‘Abraham, Abraham!’ and|strong="H3068" he|strong="H3068" answered, ‘Here|strong="H2009" am|strong="H3068" I|strong="H2009".’
11 Nesse momento, o anjo do S enhor o chamou do céu: “Abraão! Abraão!”. “Aqui estou!”, respondeu Abraão.
12 He|strong="H3588" said, ‘Do|strong="H6213" not|strong="H3808" put|strong="H7971" your|strong="H3045" hand|strong="H3027" upon|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3588" boy|strong="H5288", nor|strong="H3808" do|strong="H6213" anything|strong="H3972" to|strong="H7971" him|strong="H7971", for|strong="H3588" now|strong="H6258" I|strong="H3588" know|strong="H3045" that|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" love God|strong="H3808", for|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" have|strong="H3045" not|strong="H3808" refused|strong="H3808" to|strong="H7971" give|strong="H6213" your|strong="H3045" son|strong="H1121", your|strong="H3045" only|strong="H3173" son|strong="H1121", to|strong="H7971" me|strong="H7971".’
12 “Não toque no rapaz”, disse o anjo. “Não lhe faça mal algum. Agora sei que você teme a Deus de fato. Não me negou nem mesmo seu filho, seu único filho!”
13 Then|strong="H2009" Abraham|strong="H3947" looked|strong="H7200" up|strong="H5927", and|strong="H1121" he|strong="H3212" saw|strong="H7200" behind him|strong="H7200" a|strong="H3068" ram caught|strong="H3947" in|strong="H3212" the|strong="H7200" thicket|strong="H5442" by|strong="H5927" his|strong="H5375" horns|strong="H7161".
13 Então Abraão levantou os olhos e viu um carneiro preso pelos chifres num arbusto. Pegou o carneiro e o ofereceu como holocausto em lugar do filho.
14 So|strong="H7121" Abraham took the|strong="H7200" ram and|strong="H3068" offered him|strong="H7121" up|strong="H7200" as|strong="H3117" a|strong="H3068" burnt-offering instead of|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" son.
14 Abraão chamou aquele lugar de Javé-Jiré. Até hoje, as pessoas usam esse nome como provérbio: “No monte do S enhor se providenciará”.
15 He|strong="H3068" named|strong="H7121" the|strong="H3068" place ‘The|strong="H3068" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* will|strong="H3068" provide’ – and|strong="H3068" even|strong="H3068" today people say, ‘The|strong="H3068" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* will|strong="H3068" provide on|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" mountain.’
15 Então o anjo do S enhor chamou Abraão novamente do céu:
16 The|strong="H5002" messenger of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H5002" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* again called to|strong="H3068" Abraham and|strong="H1121" said|strong="H1697", ‘The|strong="H5002" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* declares|strong="H5002", “Because|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" have|strong="H3068" done|strong="H6213" this|strong="H2088" thing|strong="H1697" and|strong="H1121" have|strong="H3068" not|strong="H3808" kept|strong="H6213" back|strong="H2820" your|strong="H3068" son|strong="H1121", your|strong="H3068" only|strong="H3173" son|strong="H1121",
16 “Assim diz o S enhor : Uma vez que você me obedeceu e não me negou nem mesmo seu filho, seu único filho, juro pelo meu nome que
17 I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H8064" surely|strong="H3588" bless|strong="H1288" you|strong="H3588". I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H8064" make|strong="H7235" your|strong="H5921" children|strong="H2233" as|strong="H3588" many|strong="H7235" as|strong="H3588" the|strong="H5921" stars|strong="H3556" of|strong="H8179" the|strong="H5921" heavens|strong="H8064" and|strong="H8064" as|strong="H3588" the|strong="H5921" sand|strong="H2344" which|strong="H2344" is|strong="H1288" on|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" seashore|strong="H3220", so|strong="H3588" that|strong="H3588" they|strong="H3588" will|strong="H8064" conquer|strong="H3423" their|strong="H5921" enemies.
17 certamente o abençoarei. Multiplicarei grandemente seus descendentes, e eles serão como as estrelas no céu e a areia na beira do mar. Seus descendentes conquistarão as cidades de seus inimigos
18 All|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" nations|strong="H1471" of|strong="H6963" the|strong="H3605" earth will|strong="H1471" ask for|strong="H3605" themselves|strong="H8085" a|strong="H3068" blessing|strong="H1288" like theirs, because|strong="H6118" you|strong="H3605" have|strong="H1471" obeyed|strong="H8085" my|strong="H8085" command.”’
18 e, por meio deles, todas as nações da terra serão abençoadas. Tudo isso porque você me obedeceu”.
19 So|strong="H6965" Abraham returned|strong="H7725" to|strong="H7725" his|strong="H7725" servants|strong="H5288", and|strong="H6965" they|strong="H3162" arose|strong="H6965" and|strong="H6965" went|strong="H3212" together|strong="H3162" to|strong="H7725" Beer-sheba.
19 Então voltaram até onde estavam os servos e partiram para Berseba, onde Abraão continuou a morar.
20 After|strong="H1961" these|strong="H1931" things|strong="H1697", Abraham was|strong="H1961" told|strong="H5046", ‘Milcah|strong="H4435" has|strong="H1961" also|strong="H1571" borne|strong="H3205" children|strong="H1121" to|strong="H1961" your|strong="H1961" brother Nahor|strong="H5152",
20 Pouco tempo depois, Abraão ficou sabendo que Milca, mulher de Naor, irmão dele, lhe tinha dado filhos.
21 Uz|strong="H5780" his|strong="H5780" first born, Buz his|strong="H5780" brother, Kemuel|strong="H7055" the|strong="H7055" father of|strong="H1060" Aram,
21 O mais velho recebeu o nome de Uz, o segundo mais velho, Buz, seguido de Quemuel (antepassado dos arameus),
22 Chesed|strong="H3777", Hazo|strong="H2375" and|strong="H2375" Pildash|strong="H6394", Jidlaph|strong="H3044" and|strong="H2375" Bethuel|strong="H1328".’
22 Quésede, Hazo, Pildás, Jidlafe e Betuel
23 (And|strong="H7259" Bethuel|strong="H1328" fathered|strong="H3205" Rebekah|strong="H7259"). These eight|strong="H8083" Mileah bore|strong="H3205" to|strong="H3205" Nahor|strong="H5152", Abraham’s brother.
23 (que foi o pai de Rebeca). Esses foram os oito filhos que Milca deu a Naor, irmão de Abraão.
24 And|strong="H8034" his|strong="H1931" concubine|strong="H6370" whose|strong="H8034" name|strong="H8034" was|strong="H8034" Reumah|strong="H7208", also|strong="H1571" bore|strong="H3205" Tebah|strong="H2875", Gaham|strong="H1514", Tahash|strong="H8477", and|strong="H8034" Maaeah.
24 Além desses, Reumá, sua concubina, lhe deu quatro filhos: Tebá, Gaã, Taás e Maaca.
