1 Then the Lord told me, “Love your wife again, even though she is loved by others and has committed adultery. Love her as I, the Lord, love the Israelites, even though they have turned to other gods and love to eat raisin cakes.”
1 Então o S enhor me disse: “Vá e ame sua esposa outra vez, embora ela cometa adultério com um amante. Isso mostrará que o S enhor ainda ama Israel, ainda que o povo tenha se voltado para outros deuses e sinta prazer em lhes trazer ofertas”.
2 So I bought her for 23 ounces of silver and 10 bushels of barley.
2 Assim, eu a comprei de volta por quinze peças de prata, um barril grande de cevada e um odre de vinho.
3 Then I told her, “You must wait for me a long time. Don’t be a prostitute or offer yourself to any man. I will wait for you.”
3 Então eu lhe disse: “Você viverá em minha casa por muitos dias e deixará de se prostituir. Durante esse tempo, não terá relações sexuais com ninguém, e eu também esperarei por você”.
4 In the same way, the Israelites will wait a long time without kings or officials, without sacrifices or sacred stones, and without ephods or family idols.
4 Isso mostra que Israel ficará um longo tempo sem rei nem príncipe, sem sacrifícios nem colunas sagradas, sem sacerdotes nem ídolos.
5 After that, the Israelites will turn and look to the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord for his blessings in the last days.
5 Depois disso, porém, o povo retornará e buscará o S enhor , seu Deus, e o descendente de Davi, seu rei. Naquele tempo, tremerão em reverência ao S enhor e à sua bondade.
