Ezequiel 15
GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NTLH
1 The Lord spoke his word to me. He said,
1 O Senhor falou comigo. Ele disse:
2 “Son of man, what good is the wood from a vine? Is it better than the wood from a tree in the forest?
2 — Homem mortal , será que se pode comparar uma parreira com uma árvore? O que vale uma parreira em comparação com as árvores da floresta?
3 Do people use it to make something? Do they make a peg from it to hang things on?
3 Você pode usá-la para fazer dela algum objeto? Será que a sua madeira serve para fazer um cabide para pendurar coisas?
4 No! It is only thrown into the fire as fuel. The fire burns up both its ends and chars its middle. Then can it be used to make anything?
4 Não. Só presta para fazer fogo. E, quando as pontas viraram cinzas, e o meio está queimado, será que ela serve para alguma coisa?
5 When the vine was in perfect condition, it couldn’t be made into anything. How can it be used to make anything after the fire has burned and charred it?
5 Não! Antes de ser queimada, essa madeira não prestava para nada. Agora que o fogo a queimou completamente, é mais inútil ainda.
6 “So this is what the Almighty Lord says: As a vine is taken from among the trees in the forest to be used to feed the fire, so I will take the people who live in Jerusalem to punish them.
6 Pois o Senhor Deus está dizendo isto: — Como uma parreira é tirada da floresta e queimada, assim tirarei o povo que vive em Jerusalém
7 I will turn against the people of Jerusalem. Even though they have escaped one fire, another fire will burn them. Then they will know that I am the Lord, because I will turn against them.
7 e o castigarei. Eles escaparam do fogo, mas agora o fogo acabará com eles. Quando eu os castigar, vocês ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor .
8 I will turn the country into a wasteland because they have been unfaithful,” declares the Almighty Lord.
8 Eles têm sido infiéis a mim, e por isso farei o seu país virar um deserto. Eu, o Senhor Deus, falei.
