1 The beginning of the Gospel of Iesus Christ, the Sonne of God:
1 A boa notícia que fala a respeito de Jesus Cristo, Filho de Deus, começou a ser dada
2 As it is written in the Prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
2 como o profeta Isaías tinha escrito. Ele escreveu o seguinte: “Deus disse: Eu enviarei o meu mensageiro adiante de você para preparar o seu caminho.”
3 The voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse is, Prepare the way of the Lord: make his paths straight.
3 E o profeta escreveu também: “Alguém está gritando no deserto: Preparem o caminho para o Senhor passar! Abram estradas retas para ele!”
4 Iohn did baptize in the wildernesse, and preach the baptisme of amendment of life, for remission of sinnes.
4 E foi assim que João Batista apareceu no deserto, batizando o povo e anunciando esta mensagem: — Arrependam-se dos seus pecados e sejam batizados, que Deus perdoará vocês.
5 And al ye countrey of Iudea, and they of Hierusalem went out vnto him, and were all baptized of him in the riuer Iordan, confessing their sinnes.
5 Muitos moradores da região da Judeia e da cidade de Jerusalém iam ouvir João. Eles confessavam os seus pecados, e João os batizava no rio Jordão.
6 Nowe Iohn was clothed with camels heare, and with a girdle of a skinne about his loynes: and he did eate Locusts and wilde hony,
6 Ele usava uma roupa feita de pelos de camelo e um cinto de couro e comia gafanhotos e mel do mato.
7 And preached, saying, A stronger then I commeth after me, whose shoes latchet I am not worthy to stoupe downe, and vnloose.
7 Ele dizia ao povo: — Depois de mim vem alguém que é mais importante do que eu, e eu não mereço a honra de me abaixar e desamarrar as correias das sandálias dele.
8 Trueth it is, I haue baptized you with water: but he will baptize you with the holy Ghost.
8 Eu batizo vocês com água, mas ele os batizará com o Espírito Santo.
9 And it came to passe in those dayes, that Iesus came from Nazareth, a citie of Galile, and was baptized of Iohn in Iordan.
9 Nessa ocasião Jesus veio de Nazaré, uma pequena cidade da região da Galileia, e foi batizado por João Batista no rio Jordão.
10 And assoone as he was come out of the water, Iohn saw the heauens clouen in twaine, and the holy Ghost descending vpon him like a doue.
10 No momento em que estava saindo da água, Jesus viu o céu se abrir e o Espírito de Deus descer como uma pomba sobre ele.
11 Then there was a voyce from heauen, saying, Thou art my beloued Sonne, in whome I am well pleased.
11 E do céu veio uma voz, que disse: — Tu és o meu Filho querido e me dás muita alegria.
12 And immediatly the Spirite driueth him into the wildernesse.
12 Logo depois o Espírito Santo fez com que Jesus fosse para o deserto.
13 And he was there in the wildernesse fourtie daies, and was tempted of Satan: hee was also with the wilde beastes, and the Angels ministred vnto him.
13 Jesus ficou lá durante quarenta dias, sendo tentado por Satanás. Ali havia animais selvagens, e os anjos cuidavam de Jesus.
14 Now after that Iohn was committed to prison, Iesus came into Galile, preaching the Gospel of the kingdome of God,
14 Depois que João foi preso, Jesus seguiu para a região da Galileia e ali anunciava a boa notícia que vem de Deus.
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdome of God is at hand: repent and beleeue the Gospel.
15 Ele dizia:
16 And as he walked by the sea of Galile, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, (for they were fishers.)
16 Jesus estava andando pela beira do lago da Galileia quando viu dois pescadores. Eram Simão e o seu irmão André, que estavam no lago, pescando com redes.
17 Then Iesus said vnto them, Folow me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.
17 Jesus lhes disse:
18 And straightway they forsooke their nets, and folowed him.
18 Então eles largaram logo as redes e foram com Jesus.
19 And when hee had gone a litle further thence, he sawe Iames the sonne of Zebedeus, and Iohn his brother, as they were in the ship, mending their nets.
19 Um pouco mais adiante Jesus viu outros dois irmãos. Eram Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu, que estavam no barco deles, consertando as redes.
20 And anon hee called them: and they left their father Zebedeus in the shippe with his hired seruants, and went their way after him.
20 Jesus chamou os dois, e eles deixaram Zebedeu, o seu pai, e os empregados no barco e foram com ele.
21 So they entred into Capernaum, and straightway on the Sabbath day hee entred into the Synagogue, and taught.
21 Jesus e os discípulos chegaram à cidade de Cafarnaum, e, no sábado, ele foi ensinar na sinagoga .
22 And they were astonied at his doctrine, for he taught them as one that had authoritie, and not as the Scribes.
22 As pessoas que o escutavam ficaram muito admiradas com a sua maneira de ensinar. É que Jesus ensinava com a autoridade dele mesmo e não como os mestres da Lei.
23 And there was in their Synagogue a man in whome was an vncleane spirite, and hee cried out,
23 Então chegou ali um homem que estava dominado por um espírito mau. O homem gritou:
24 Saying, Ah, what haue we to do with thee, O Iesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy vs? I knowe thee what thou art, euen that holy one of God.
24 — O que quer de nós, Jesus de Nazaré? Você veio para nos destruir? Sei muito bem quem é você: é o Santo que Deus enviou!
25 And Iesus rebuked him, saying, Holde thy peace, and come out of him.
25 Então Jesus ordenou ao espírito mau:
26 And the vncleane spirit tare him, and cried with a loude voyce, and came out of him.
26 Aí o espírito sacudiu o homem com violência e, dando um grito, saiu dele.
27 And they were all amased, so that they demaunded one of another, saying, What thing is this? what newe doctrine is this? for he commandeth euen the foule spirites with authoritie, and they obey him.
27 Todos ficaram espantados e diziam uns para os outros: — Que quer dizer isso? É um novo ensinamento dado com autoridade. Ele manda até nos espíritos maus, e eles obedecem.
28 And immediatly his fame spred abroade throughout all the region bordering on Galile.
28 E a fama de Jesus se espalhou depressa por toda a região da Galileia.
29 And assoone as they were come out of the Synagogue, they entred into the house of Symon and Andrew, with Iames and Iohn.
29 Logo depois, Jesus, Simão, André, Tiago e João saíram da sinagoga e foram até a casa de Simão e de André.
30 And Symons wiues mother lay sicke of a feuer, and anon they told him of her.
30 A sogra de Simão estava de cama, com febre. Assim que Jesus chegou, contaram a ele que ela estava doente.
31 And he came and tooke her by the hand, and lifted her vp, and the feuer forsooke her by and by, and shee ministred vnto them.
31 Ele chegou perto dela, segurou a mão dela e ajudou-a a se levantar. A febre saiu da mulher, e ela começou a cuidar deles.
32 And whe euen was come, at what time the sunne setteth, they brought to him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with deuils.
32 À tarde, depois do pôr do sol , levaram até Jesus todos os doentes e as pessoas que estavam dominadas por demônios.
33 And the whole citie was gathered together at the doore.
33 Todo o povo da cidade se reuniu em frente da casa.
34 And he healed many that were sicke of diuers diseases: and he cast out many deuils, and suffred not the deuils to say that they knewe him.
34 Jesus curou muitas pessoas de todo tipo de doenças e expulsou muitos demônios. Ele não deixava que os demônios falassem, pois eles sabiam quem Jesus era.
35 And in the morning very early before day, Iesus arose and went out into a solitarie place, and there praied.
35 De manhã bem cedo, quando ainda estava escuro, Jesus se levantou, saiu da cidade, foi para um lugar deserto e ficou ali orando.
36 And Simon, and they that were with him, followed carefully after him.
36 Simão e os seus companheiros procuraram Jesus por toda parte.
37 And when they had found him, they sayde vnto him, All men seeke for thee.
37 Quando o encontraram, disseram: — Todos estão procurando o senhor.
38 Then he said vnto them, Let vs go into the next townes, that I may preach there also: for I came out for that purpose.
38 Jesus respondeu:
39 And hee preached in their Synagogues, throughout all Galile, and cast the deuils out.
39 Jesus andava por toda a Galileia, anunciando o evangelho nas sinagogas e expulsando demônios.
40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeled downe vnto him, and said to him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me cleane.
40 Um leproso chegou perto de Jesus, ajoelhou-se e disse: — Senhor, eu sei que o senhor pode me curar se quiser.
41 And Iesus had compassion, and put foorth his hand, and touched him, and said to him, I wil: be thou cleane.
41 Jesus ficou com muita pena dele, tocou nele e disse:
42 And assone as he had spoken, immediatly ye leprosie departed from him, and he was made cleane.
42 No mesmo instante a lepra desapareceu, e ele ficou curado. Então Jesus o mandou embora.
43 And after he had giue him a streight commandement, he sent him away forthwith,
43 — ausente —
44 And sayde vnto him, See thou say nothing to any man, but get thee hence, and shewe thy selfe to the Priest, and offer for thy clensing those things, which Moses commanded, for a testimoniall vnto them.
44 — ausente —
45 But when he was departed, hee began to tel many things, and to publish the matter: so that Iesus could no more openly enter into the citie, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from euery quarter.
45 Mas o homem começou a falar muito e espalhou a notícia. Por isso Jesus não podia mais entrar abertamente em qualquer cidade, mas ficava fora, em lugares desertos. E gente de toda parte vinha procurá-lo.
