1 And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were al with one accord in one place.
1 Chegando o dia de Pentecostes, estavam todos reunidos no mesmo lugar.
2 And suddenly there came a sounde from heauen, as of a russhing and mightie winde, and it filled all the house where they sate.
2 De repente, veio do céu um ruído, como se soprasse um vento impetuoso, e encheu toda a casa onde estavam sentados.
3 And there appeared vnto them clouen tongues, like fire, and it sate vpon eche of them.
3 Apareceu-lhes então uma espécie de línguas de fogo que se repartiram e pousaram sobre cada um deles.
4 And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speake with other tongues, as the Spirit gaue them vtterance.
4 Ficaram todos cheios do Espírito Santo e começaram a falar em línguas, conforme o Espírito Santo lhes concedia que falassem.
5 And there were dwelling at Hierusalem Iewes, men that feared God, of euery nation vnder heauen.
5 Achavam-se então em Jerusalém judeus piedosos de todas as nações que há debaixo do céu.
6 Nowe when this was noised, the multitude came together and were astonied, because that euery man heard them speake his owne language.
6 Ouvindo aquele ruído, reuniu-se muita gente e maravilhava-se de que cada um os ouvia falar na sua própria língua.
7 And they wondered al, and marueiled, saying among themselues, Beholde, are not all these which speake, of Galile?
7 Profundamente impressionados, manifestavam a sua admiração: Não são, porventura, galileus todos estes que falam?
8 How then heare we euery man our owne language, wherein we were borne?
8 Como então todos nós os ouvimos falar, cada um em nossa própria língua materna?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia, and of Iudea, and of Cappadocia, of Pontus, and Asia,
9 Partos, medos, elamitas; os que habitam a Macedônia, a Judéia, a Capadócia, o Ponto, a Ásia,
10 And of Phrygia, and Pamphylia, of Egypt, and of the partes of Libya, which is beside Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, and Iewes, and Proselytes,
10 a Frígia, a Panfília, o Egito e as províncias da Líbia próximas a Cirene; peregrinos romanos,
11 Creetes, and Arabians: wee hearde them speake in our owne tongues the wonderful works of God.
11 judeus ou prosélitos, cretenses e árabes; ouvimo-los publicar em nossas línguas as maravilhas de Deus!
12 They were all then amased, and douted, saying one to another, What may this be?
12 Estavam, pois, todos atônitos e, sem saber o que pensar, perguntavam uns aos outros: Que significam estas coisas?
13 And others mocked, and saide, They are full of newe wine.
13 Outros, porém, escarnecendo, diziam: Estão todos embriagados de vinho doce.
14 But Peter standing with ye Eleuen, lift vp his voice, and said vnto them, Ye men of Iudea, and ye all that inhabite Hierusalem, be this knowen vnto you, and hearken vnto my woordes.
14 Pedro então, pondo-se de pé em companhia dos Onze, com voz forte lhes disse: Homens da Judéia e vós todos que habitais em Jerusalém: seja-vos isto conhecido e prestai atenção às minhas palavras.
15 For these are not drunken, as yee suppose, since it is but the third houre of the day.
15 Estes homens não estão embriagados, como vós pensais, visto não ser ainda a hora terceira do dia.
16 But this is that, which was spoken by the Prophet Ioel,
16 Mas cumpre-se o que foi dito pelo profeta Joel:
17 And it shalbe in the last daies, saith God, I wil powre out of my Spirite vpon al flesh, and your sonnes, and your daughters shall prophecie, and your yong men shall see visions, and your old men shall dreame dreames.
17 Acontecerá nos últimos dias - é Deus quem fala -, que derramarei do meu Espírito sobre todo ser vivo: profetizarão os vossos filhos e as vossas filhas. Os vossos jovens terão visões, e os vossos anciãos sonharão.
18 And on my seruauntes, and on mine handmaides I will powre out of my Spirite in those daies, and they shall prophecie.
18 Sobre os meus servos e sobre as minhas servas derramarei naqueles dias do meu Espírito e profetizarão.
19 And I wil shew wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapour of smoke.
19 Farei aparecer prodígios em cima, no céu, e milagres embaixo, na terra: sangue fogo e vapor de fumaça.
20 The Sunne shalbe turned into darkenesse, and the moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
20 O sol se converterá em trevas e a lua em sangue, antes que venha o grande e glorioso dia do Senhor.
21 And it shalbe, that whosoeuer shall call on the Name of the Lord, shalbe saued.
21 E então todo o que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo {Jl 3,1-5}.
22 Yee men of Israel, heare these woordes, JESUS of Nazareth, a man approued of God among you with great workes, and wonders, and signes, which God did by him in the middes of you, as yee your selues also knowe:
22 Israelitas, ouvi estas palavras: Jesus de Nazaré, homem de quem Deus tem dado testemunho diante de vós com milagres, prodígios e sinais que Deus por ele realizou no meio de vós como vós mesmos o sabeis,
23 Him, I say, being deliuered by the determinate counsell, and foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked handes you haue crucified and slaine.
23 depois de ter sido entregue, segundo determinado desígnio e presciência de Deus, vós o matastes, crucificando-o por mãos de ímpios.
24 Whome God hath raised vp, and loosed the sorrowes of death, because it was vnpossible that he should be holden of it.
24 Mas Deus o ressuscitou, rompendo os grilhões da morte, porque não era possível que ela o retivesse em seu poder.
25 For Dauid sayeth concerning him, I beheld the Lord alwaies before me: for hee is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.
25 Pois dele diz Davi: Eu via sempre o Senhor perto de mim, pois ele está à minha direita, para que eu não seja abalado.
26 Therefore did mine heart reioyce, and my tongue was glad, and moreouer also my flesh shall rest in hope,
26 Alegrou-se por isso o meu coração e a minha língua exultou. Sim, também a minha carne repousará na esperança,
27 Because thou wilt not leaue my soule in graue, neither wilt suffer thine Holy one to see corruption.
27 pois não deixarás a minha alma na região dos mortos, nem permitirás que o teu santo conheça a corrupção.
28 Thou hast shewed me the waies of life, and shalt make me full of ioy with thy countenance.
28 Fizeste-me conhecer os caminhos da vida, e me encherás de alegria com a visão de tua face {Sl 15,8-11}.
29 Men and brethren, I may boldly speake vnto you of the Patriarke Dauid, that hee is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre remaineth with vs vnto this day.
29 Irmãos, seja permitido dizer-vos com franqueza: do patriarca Davi dizemos que morreu e foi sepultado, e o seu sepulcro está entre nós até o dia de hoje.
30 Therefore, seeing hee was a Prophet, and knewe that God had sworne with an othe to him, that of the fruite of his loynes hee woulde raise vp Christ concerning the flesh, to set him vpon his throne,
30 Mas ele era profeta e sabia que Deus lhe havia jurado que um dos seus descendentes seria colocado no seu trono.
31 Hee knowing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soule shoulde not bee left in graue, neither his flesh shoulde see corruption.
31 É, portanto, a ressurreição de Cristo que ele previu e anunciou por estas palavras: Ele não foi abandonado na região dos mortos, e sua carne não conheceu a corrupção.
32 This Iesus hath God raised vp, whereof we all are witnesses.
32 A este Jesus, Deus o ressuscitou: do que todos nós somos testemunhas.
33 Since then that he by the right hande of God hath bene exalted, and hath receiued of his Father the promise of the holy Ghost, hee hath shed foorth this which yee nowe see and heare.
33 Exaltado pela direita de Deus, havendo recebido do Pai o Espírito Santo prometido, derramou-o como vós vedes e ouvis.
34 For Dauid is not ascended into heauen, but he sayth, The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hande,
34 Pois Davi pessoalmente não subiu ao céu, todavia diz: O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita
35 Vntill I make thine enemies thy footestoole.
35 até que eu ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}.
36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for a suretie, that God hath made him both Lord, and Christ, this Iesus, I say, whome yee haue crucified.
36 Que toda a casa de Israel saiba, portanto, com a maior certeza de que este Jesus, que vós crucificastes, Deus o constituiu Senhor e Cristo.
37 Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their heartes, and said vnto Peter and the other Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we doe?
37 Ao ouvirem essas coisas, ficaram compungidos no íntimo do coração e indagaram de Pedro e dos demais apóstolos: Que devemos fazer, irmãos?
38 Then Peter said vnto them, Amend your liues, and bee baptized euery one of you in the Name of Iesus Christ for the remission of sinnes: and ye shall receiue the gift of the holy Ghost.
38 Pedro lhes respondeu: Arrependei-vos e cada um de vós seja batizado em nome de Jesus Cristo para remissão dos vossos pecados, e recebereis o dom do Espírito Santo.
39 For the promise is made vnto you, and to your children, and to all that are a farre off, euen as many as the Lord our God shall call.
39 Pois a promessa é para vós, para vossos filhos e para todos os que ouvirem de longe o apelo do Senhor, nosso Deus.
40 And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Saue your selues from this froward generation.
40 Ainda com muitas outras palavras exortava-os, dizendo: Salvai-vos do meio dessa geração perversa!
41 Then they that gladly receiued his word, were baptized: and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand soules.
41 que receberam a sua palavra foram batizados. E naquele dia elevou-se a mais ou menos três mil o número dos adeptos.
42 And they continued in the Apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers.
42 Perseveravam eles na doutrina dos apóstolos, na reunião em comum, na fração do pão e nas orações.
43 And feare came vpon euery soule: and many wonders and signes were done by ye Apostles.
43 De todos eles se apoderou o temor, pois pelos apóstolos foram feitos também muitos prodígios e milagres em Jerusalém e o temor estava em todos os corações.
44 And all that beleeued, were in one place, and had all things common.
44 Todos os fiéis viviam unidos e tinham tudo em comum.
45 And they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all me, as euery one had need.
45 Vendiam as suas propriedades e os seus bens, e dividiam-nos por todos, segundo a necessidade de cada um.
46 And they continued dayly with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread at home, did eate their meate together with gladnesse and singlenesse of heart,
46 Unidos de coração freqüentavam todos os dias o templo. Partiam o pão nas casas e tomavam a comida com alegria e singeleza de coração,
47 Praysing God, and had fauour with all the people: and the Lord added to the Church from day to day, such as should be saued.
47 louvando a Deus e cativando a simpatia de todo o povo. E o Senhor cada dia lhes ajuntava outros que estavam a caminho da salvação.
