1 And it came to passe in Iconium, that they went both together into the Synagogue of the Iewes, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Iewes and of the Grecians beleeued.
1 A mesma coisa aconteceu na cidade de Icônio. Paulo e Barnabé entraram na sinagoga e falaram de tal maneira, que muitos judeus e não judeus creram.
2 And the vnbeleeuing Iewes stirred vp, and corrupted the mindes of the Gentiles against the brethren.
2 Mas os judeus que não creram atiçaram os não judeus contra os cristãos.
3 So therefore they abode there a long time, and spake boldly in the Lord, which gaue testimonie vnto the woord of his grace, and caused signes and woders to be done by their hands.
3 Os apóstolos ficaram muito tempo em Icônio, falando com coragem a respeito do Senhor Jesus. E o Senhor mostrava que a mensagem deles sobre a sua graça era verdadeira, pois ele dava a eles o poder de fazer milagres e maravilhas.
4 But the multitude of the city was deuided: and some were with the Iewes, and some with the Apostles.
4 Os moradores da cidade estavam divididos: alguns apoiavam os judeus, e outros eram a favor dos apóstolos.
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and of the Iewes with their rulers, to doe them violence, and to stone them,
5 Então os não judeus e os judeus, juntos com os seus chefes, resolveram maltratar os apóstolos e matá-los a pedradas.
6 They were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the region round about,
6 Quando Paulo e Barnabé souberam disso, fugiram para Listra e Derbe, cidades do distrito da Licaônia, e para as regiões vizinhas.
7 And there preached the Gospel.
7 E ali anunciaram o evangelho .
8 Nowe there sate a certaine man at Lystra, impotent in his feete, which was a creeple from his mothers wombe, who had neuer walked.
8 Na cidade de Listra havia um homem que estava sempre sentado porque era aleijado dos pés. Ele havia nascido aleijado e nunca tinha andado.
9 He heard Paul speake: who beholding him, and perceiuing that he had faith to be healed,
9 Esse homem ouviu as palavras de Paulo, e Paulo viu que ele cria que podia ser curado. Então olhou firmemente para ele
10 Said with a loude voyce, Stand vpright on thy feete. And he leaped vp, and walked.
10 e disse em voz alta: — Levante-se e fique de pé! O homem pulou de pé e começou a andar.
11 Then when the people sawe what Paul had done, they lift vp their voyces, saying in ye speach of Lycaonia, Gods are come downe to vs in the likenesse of men.
11 Quando o povo viu o que Paulo havia feito, começou a gritar na sua própria língua: — Os deuses tomaram a forma de homens e desceram até nós!
12 And they called Barnabas, Iupiter: and Paul, Mercurius, because hee was the chiefe speaker.
12 Eles deram o nome de Júpiter a Barnabé e o de Mercúrio a Paulo, porque era Paulo quem falava.
13 Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought bulles with garlands vnto the gates, and would haue sacrificed with the people.
13 O templo de Júpiter ficava na entrada da cidade, e o sacerdote desse deus trouxe bois e coroas de flores para o portão da cidade. Ele e o povo queriam matar os animais numa cerimônia religiosa e oferecê-los em sacrifício a Barnabé e a Paulo.
14 But when the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul heard it, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying,
14 Quando os dois apóstolos souberam disso, rasgaram as suas roupas, correram para o meio da multidão e gritaram:
15 And saying, O men, why doe yee these things? We are euen men subiect to the like passions that yee be, and preache vnto you, that yee shoulde turne from these vaine things vnto the liuing God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all things that in them are:
15 — Amigos, por que vocês estão fazendo isso? Nós somos apenas seres humanos, como vocês. Estamos aqui anunciando o evangelho a vocês para que abandonem essas coisas que não servem para nada. Convertam-se ao Deus vivo, que fez o céu, a terra, o mar e tudo o que existe neles.
16 Who in times past suffered all the Gentiles to walke in their owne waies.
16 No passado Deus deixou que todos os povos andassem nos seus próprios caminhos.
17 Neuerthelesse, hee left not him selfe without witnes, in that hee did good and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with foode, and gladnesse.
17 Mas Deus sempre mostra quem ele é por meio das coisas boas que faz: é ele quem manda as chuvas do céu e as colheitas no tempo certo; é ele quem dá também alimento para vocês e enche o coração de vocês de alegria.
18 And speaking these things, scarce appeased they the multitude, that they had not sacrificed vnto them.
18 Mesmo depois de terem dito isso, os apóstolos tiveram muita dificuldade para evitar que o povo matasse os animais em sacrifício a eles.
19 Then there came certaine Iewes from Antiochia and Iconium, which when they had persuaded the people, stoned Paul, and drewe him out of the citie, supposing he had bene dead.
19 Alguns judeus que tinham vindo das cidades de Antioquia e de Icônio conseguiram o apoio da multidão, apedrejaram Paulo e o arrastaram para fora da cidade, porque pensavam que ele tinha morrido.
20 Howbeit, as the disciples stoode rounde about him, hee arose vp, and came into the citie, and the next day hee departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
20 Mas, quando os cristãos se ajuntaram em volta dele, ele se levantou e entrou na cidade de novo. E no dia seguinte Paulo e Barnabé partiram para a cidade de Derbe.
21 And after they had preached the glad tidings of the Gospel to that citie, and had taught many, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antiochia,
21 Paulo e Barnabé anunciaram o evangelho em Derbe, e muitos moradores daquela cidade se tornaram seguidores de Jesus. Depois voltaram para as cidades de Listra, Icônio e Antioquia da Pisídia.
22 Confirming the disciples hearts, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, affirming that we must through many afflictions enter into the kingdome of God.
22 Eles animavam os cristãos e lhes davam coragem para ficarem firmes na fé. E também ensinavam que era preciso passar por muitos sofrimentos para poder entrar no Reino de Deus .
23 And when they had ordeined them Elders by election in euery Church, and prayed, and fasted, they commended them to the Lord in whome they beleeued.
23 Em cada igreja os apóstolos escolhiam presbíteros . Eles oravam, jejuavam e entregavam os presbíteros à proteção do Senhor, em quem estes haviam crido.
24 Thus they went throughout Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
24 Então Paulo e Barnabé atravessaram o distrito da Pisídia e chegaram até a província da Panfília.
25 And when they had preached the woorde in Perga, they came downe to Attalia,
25 Anunciaram a palavra em Perge e depois foram para o porto de Atália.
26 And thence sailed to Antiochia, from whence they had bene comended vnto the grace of God, to the woorke, which they had fulfilled.
26 Dali foram de navio para Antioquia da Síria, onde eles haviam sido entregues aos cuidados de Deus, para o trabalho que agora estavam terminando.
27 And when they were come and had gathered the Church together, they rehearsed all the things that God had done by them, and howe he had opened the doore of faith vnto the Gentiles.
27 Quando chegaram lá, reuniram as pessoas da igreja e contaram tudo o que Deus havia feito por meio deles. E contaram como ele tinha aberto o caminho para que os não judeus também cressem.
28 So there they abode a long time with the disciples.
28 E ficaram muito tempo ali com os seguidores de Jesus.
