Amós 1

1 The wordes of Amos, who was among the heardmen at Tecoa, which he sawe vpon Israel, in the dayes of Vzziah king of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash King of Israel, two yeere before the earthquake.
1 Palavras que, em visão, vieram a Amós, que era entre os pastores de Tecoa, a respeito de Israel, nos dias de Uzias, rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do terremoto.
2 And he saide, The Lord shall roare from Zion, and vtter his voyce from Ierusalem, and the dwelling places of the shepheards shall perish, and the top of Carmel shall wither,
2 Ele disse: O Senhor rugirá de Sião e de Jerusalém fará ouvir a sua voz; os prados dos pastores estarão de luto, e secar-se-á o cimo do Carmelo.
3 Thus saith the Lord, For three transgressions of Damascus, and for foure I will not turne to it, because they haue threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of yron.
3 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Damasco e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque trilharam a Gileade com trilhos de ferro.
4 Therefore will I sende a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Ben-hadad.
4 Por isso, meterei fogo à casa de Hazael, fogo que consumirá os castelos de Ben-Hadade.
5 I will breake also the barres of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant of Bikeath-auen: and him that holdeth the scepter out of Beth-eden, and the people of Aram shall goe into captiuitie vnto Kir, sayth the Lord.
5 Quebrarei o ferrolho de Damasco e eliminarei o morador de Biqueate-Áven e ao que tem o cetro de Bete-Éden; e o povo da Síria será levado em cativeiro a Quir, diz o Senhor .
6 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Azzah, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they caried away prisoners the whole captiuitie to shut them vp in Edom.
6 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Gaza e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque levaram em cativeiro todo o povo, para o entregarem a Edom.
7 Therefore will I sende a fire vpon the walles of Azzah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
7 Por isso, meterei fogo aos muros de Gaza, fogo que consumirá os seus castelos.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the scepter from Ashkelon, and turne mine hande to Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistims shall perish, sayth the Lord God.
8 Eliminarei o morador de Asdode e o que tem o cetro de Asquelom e volverei a mão contra Ecrom; e o resto dos filisteus perecerá, diz o Senhor .
9 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they shut the whole captiuitie in Edom, and haue not remembred the brotherly couenant.
9 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Tiro e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque entregaram todos os cativos a Edom e não se lembraram da aliança de irmãos.
10 Therefore wil I send a fire vpon ye walles of Tyrus, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
10 Por isso, meterei fogo aos muros de Tiro, fogo que consumirá os seus castelos.
11 Thus sayeth the Lord, For three transgressions of Edom, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because hee did pursue his brother with the sworde, and did cast off all pitie, and his anger spoyled him euermore, and his wrath watched him alway.
11 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Edom e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque perseguiu o seu irmão à espada e baniu toda a misericórdia; e a sua ira não cessou de despedaçar, e reteve a sua indignação para sempre.
12 Therefore will I send a fire vpon Teman, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Bozrah.
12 Por isso, meterei fogo a Temã, fogo que consumirá os castelos de Bozra.
13 Thus sayth ye Lord, For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they haue ript vp the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.
13 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões dos filhos de Amom e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque rasgaram o ventre às grávidas de Gileade, para dilatarem os seus próprios limites.
14 Therefore will I kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battell, and with a tempest in the day of the whirlewinde.
14 Por isso, meterei fogo aos muros de Rabá, fogo que consumirá os seus castelos, com alarido no dia da batalha, com turbilhão no dia da tempestade.
15 And their King shall go into captiuitie, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
15 O seu rei irá para o cativeiro, ele e os seus príncipes juntamente, diz o Senhor .
