1 “That time of judgment is coming. It will be like a hot furnace. All the proud people will be punished. All the evil people will burn like straw. At that time they will be like a bush burning in the fire, and there will not be a branch or root left.” This is what the LORD All-Powerful said.
1 Pois eis que o dia vem, e queimará como um forno, e todos os orgulhosos, sim, e todos os que cometem perversidade serão como a palha; e o dia que vem os queimará, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, e isso não lhes deixará nem raiz nem ramo.
2 “But, for my followers, goodness will shine on you like the rising sun. And it will bring healing power like the sun’s rays. You will be free and happy, like calves freed from their stalls.
2 Mas para vós, que temeis o meu nome, o Sol da justiça nascerá com cura nas suas asas; e saireis e crescereis como os novilhos da estrebaria.
3 Then you will walk on the evil people—they will be like ashes under your feet. I will make this happen at the time of judgment.” This is what the LORD All-Powerful said.
3 E pisareis os perversos, porque eles serão cinzas debaixo das solas de vossos pés no dia em que eu fizer isto, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos.
4 “Remember and obey the law of my servant Moses. I gave those laws and rules to him at Mount Horeb. They are for all the people of Israel.
4 Lembrai-vos da lei de Moisés, meu servo, que eu lhe ordenei em Horebe para todo o Israel, com os estatutos e juízos.
5 “Look, I will send Elijah the prophet to you. He will come before that great and terrible time of judgment from the LORD.
5 Eis que eu vos enviarei Elias, o profeta, antes da vinda do grande e terrível dia do SENHOR;
6 Elijah will help the parents become close to their children, and he will help the children become close to their parents. This must happen, or I will come and completely destroy your country.”
6 e ele converterá o coração dos pais aos filhos, e o coração dos filhos a seus pais; para que eu não venha e fira a terra com uma maldição.
