1 I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
1 Esperei com paciência pela ajuda de Deus, o Ele me escutou e ouviu o meu pedido de socorro.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
2 Tirou-me de uma cova perigosa, de um poço de lama. Ele me pôs seguro em cima de uma rocha e firmou os meus passos.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.
3 Ele me ensinou a cantar uma nova canção, um hino de louvor ao nosso Deus. Quando virem isso, muitos e nele porão a sua confiança.
4 Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
4 Feliz aquele que confia em Deus, o que não vai atrás dos ídolos, nem se junta com os que adoram falsos deuses!
5 Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward: They cannot be set in order unto thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.
5 Ó Senhor , nosso Deus, tu tens feito grandes coisas por nós. Não há ninguém igual a ti. Tu tens feito muitos planos maravilhosos para o nosso bem. Ainda que eu quisesse, não poderia falar de todos eles, pois são tantos, que não podem ser contados.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in; Mine ears hast thou opened: Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.
6 Tu não queres animais oferecidos em nem ofertas de cereais. Não pediste que animais fossem queimados inteiros no altar, nem exigiste sacrifícios oferecidos para tirar pecados. Pelo contrário, tu me deste ouvidos para ouvir,
7 Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:
7 e por isso respondi: “Aqui estou; as tuas instruções para mim estão no
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.
8 Eu tenho prazer em fazer a tua vontade, ó meu Deus! Guardo a tua
9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly; Lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Jehovah, thou knowest.
9 Ó Senhor Deus, na reunião de todo o teu povo, eu contei a boa notícia de que tu nos salvas. Tu sabes que nunca vou parar de anunciá-la.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great assembly.
10 Não tenho guardado para mim mesmo a notícia da tua salvação. Tenho sempre falado da tua fidelidade e do teu poder salvador. Nas reuniões de todo o teu povo, não fiquei calado a respeito do teu amor e da tua fidelidade.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Jehovah; Let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
11 Ó Senhor Deus, eu sei que nunca deixarás de ser bom para mim. O teu amor e a tua fidelidade sempre me guardarão seguro.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about; Mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart hath failed me.
12 Estou rodeado por muitas dificuldades, tantas, que nem posso dizer quantas são. Fui apanhado pelos meus próprios pecados e quase não posso mais enxergar. Tenho mais pecados que cabelos na cabeça e por isso estou muito desanimado.
13 Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me: Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.
13 Ó Senhor Deus, salva-me! Ajuda-me agora.
14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together That seek after my soul to destroy it: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.
14 Que sejam completamente derrotados e humilhados aqueles que me querem matar! Que fujam, envergonhados, aqueles que se alegram com as minhas aflições!
15 Let them be desolate by reason of their shame That say unto me, Aha, aha.
15 Que caiam na desgraça e fiquem cheios de confusão aqueles que zombam de mim!
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified.
16 Que fiquem alegres e contentes todos os que te adoram! E que os que são gratos pela tua ajuda digam sempre: “Como o
17 But I am poor and needy; Thou art my help and my deliverer; Make no tarrying, O my God.
17 Eu sou pobre e necessitado, mas tu, Senhor, cuidas de mim. Tu és a minha ajuda e o meu libertador; não te demores em me socorrer, ó meu Deus!
