1 But speake thou that which becometh wholsome learninge.
1 O teu ensinamento, porém, seja conforme à sã doutrina.
2 That the elder men be sober honest discrete sounde in the fayth in love and in paciece.
2 Os mais velhos sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, fortes na fé, na caridade, na paciência.
3 And the elder weme lykewyse that they be in soche rayment as becommeth holynes not falce accusars not geven to moche drinkynge but teachers of honest thynges
3 Assim também as mulheres de mais idade mostrem no seu exterior uma compostura santa, não sejam maldizentes nem intemperantes, mas mestras de bons conselhos.
4 to make the younge wemen sobremynded to love their husbandes to love their children
4 Que saibam ensinar as jovens a amarem seus maridos, a quererem bem seus filhos,
5 to be discrete chast huswyfly good and obediet vnto their awne husbandes that the worde of god be not evyll spoken of.
5 a serem prudentes, castas, cuidadosas da casa, bondosas, submissas a seus maridos, para que a palavra de Deus não seja desacreditada.
6 Yonge men lykwyse exhorte that they be sobre mynded.
6 Exorta igualmente os moços a serem morigerados,
7 Above all thynges shewe thy silfe an insample of good workes with uncorrupt doctryne with honestie
7 e mostra-te em tudo modelo de bom comportamento: pela integridade na doutrina, gravidade,
8 and with the wholsome worde which cannot be rebuked that he which withstondeth maye be a shamed havynge no thinge in you that he maye disprayse.
8 linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário seja confundido, não tendo a dizer de nós mal algum.
9 The servautes exhorte to be obediet vnto their awne masters and to please in all thynges not answerynge agayne
9 Exorta os servos a que sejam submissos a seus senhores e atentos em agradar-lhes. Em lugar de reclamar deles
10 nether be pickers but that they shewe all good faythfulnes that they maye do worshippe to the doctryne of oure saveoure God in all thynges.
10 e defraudá-los, procurem em tudo testemunhar-lhes incondicional fidelidade, para que por todos seja respeitada a doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 For the grace of god that bryngeth saluacion vnto all men hath appered
11 Manifestou-se, com efeito, a graça de Deus, fonte de salvação para todos os homens.
12 and teacheth vs that we shuld denye vngodlynes and worldy lustes and that we shuld live sobre mynded righteously and godly in this present worlde
12 Veio para nos ensinar a renunciar à impiedade e às paixões mundanas e a viver neste mundo com toda sobriedade, justiça e piedade,
13 lokinge for that blessed hope and glorious apperenge of the myghty god and of oure savioure Iesu Christ
13 na expectativa da nossa esperança feliz, a aparição gloriosa de nosso grande Deus e Salvador, Jesus Cristo,
14 which gave him silfe for vs to redeme vs from all vnrightewesnes and to pourge vs a peculiar people vnto him silfe fervently geven vnto good workes.
14 que se entregou por nós, a fim de nos resgatar de toda a iniqüidade, nos purificar e nos constituir seu povo de predileção, zeloso na prática do bem.
15 These thinges speake and exhorte and rebuke with all commaundynge Se that no man despise the.
15 Eis o que deves ensinar, pregar e defender com toda a autoridade. E que ninguém te menospreze!
