1 And he began agayne to teache by the seesyde. And there gadered to gedder vnto him moche people so greatly that he entred into a ship and sate in the see and all the people was by the seeside on the shoore.
1 Jesus pôs-se novamente a ensinar, à beira do mar, e aglomerou-se junto dele tão grande multidão, que ele teve de entrar numa barca, no mar, e toda a multidão ficou em terra na praia.
2 And he taught them many thynges in similitudes and sayde vnto them in his doctrine:
2 E ensinava-lhes muitas coisas em parábolas. Dizia-lhes na sua doutrina:
3 Herken to. Beholde There wet out a sower to sowe.
3 Ouvi: Saiu o semeador a semear.
4 And it fortuned as he sowed that some fell by the waye syde and the fowles of the ayre came and devoured it vp.
4 Enquanto lançava a semente, uma parte caiu à beira do caminho, e vieram as aves e a comeram.
5 Some fell on stony grounde where it had not moche erth: and by and by sprange vp because it had not deepth of erth:
5 Outra parte caiu no pedregulho, onde não havia muita terra; o grão germinou logo, porque a terra não era profunda;
6 but as sone as the sunne was vp it caught heet and because it had not rotynge wyddred awaye.
6 mas, assim que o sol despontou, queimou-se e, como não tivesse raiz, secou.
7 And some fell amonge the thornes and the thornes grewe vp and choked it so that it gave no frute.
7 Outra parte caiu entre os espinhos; estes cresceram, sufocaram-na e o grão não deu fruto.
8 And some fell vpon good grounde and dyd yelde frute that sproge and grewe and brought forthe: some thirty folde some sixtie folde and some an hundred folde.
8 Outra caiu em terra boa e deu fruto, cresceu e desenvolveu-se; um grão rendeu trinta, outro sessenta e outro cem.
9 And he sayde vnto them: he that hath eares to heare let him heare.
9 E dizia: Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça!
10 And when he was alone they that were aboute him with the .xii. axed him of the similitude.
10 Quando se acharam a sós, os que o cercavam e os Doze indagaram dele o sentido da parábola.
11 And he sayde vnto them. To you it is geve to knowe the mistery of the kyngdome of God. But vnto them that are with out shall all thinges be done in similitudes:
11 Ele disse-lhes: A vós é revelado o mistério do Reino de Deus, mas aos que são de fora tudo se lhes propõe em parábolas.
12 That when they se they shall se and not discerne: and when they heare they shall heare and not vnderstonde: leste at any tyme they shulde tourne and their synnes shuld be forgeve them.
12 Desse modo, eles olham sem ver, escutam sem compreender, sem que se convertam e lhes seja perdoado.
13 And he sayde vnto the: Perceave ye not this similitude? how then shulde ye vnderstonde all other similitudes?
13 E acrescentou: Não entendeis essa parábola? Como entendereis então todas as outras?
14 The sower soweth the worde.
14 O semeador semeia a palavra.
15 And they that are by the wayes syde where the worde is sowen are they to whom assone as they have herde it Satha cometh immediatly and takith awaye the worde that was sowe in their hertes.
15 Alguns se encontram à beira do caminho, onde ela é semeada; apenas a ouvem, vem Satanás tirar a palavra neles semeada.
16 And likewise they that are sowen on the stonye groude are they: which when they have harde the worde at once receave it with gladnes
16 Outros recebem a semente em lugares pedregosos; quando a ouvem, recebem-na com alegria;
17 yet have no rotes in them selves and so endure but a tyme: and anone as trouble and persecucion aryseth for the wordes sake they fall immediatly.
17 mas não têm raiz em si, são inconstantes, e assim que se levanta uma tribulação ou uma perseguição por causa da palavra, eles tropeçam.
18 And they that are sowe amonge the thornes are soche as heare the worde:
18 Outros ainda recebem a semente entre os espinhos; ouvem a palavra,
19 and the care of this worlde and the disseytfulnes of ryches and the lustes of other thinges entre in and choocke the worde and it is made vnfrutfull.
19 mas as preocupações mundanas, a ilusão das riquezas, as múltiplas cobiças sufocam-na e a tornam infrutífera.
20 And those that weare sowe in good grounde are they that heare the worde and receave it and bringe forth frute some thirty folde some sixty folde some an hundred folde.
20 Aqueles que recebem a semente em terra boa escutam a palavra, acolhem-na e dão fruto, trinta, sessenta e cem por um.
21 And he sayde vnto them: is the candle lighted to be put vnder a busshell or vnder the table and not rather to be put on a candelstick?
21 Dizia-lhes ainda: Traz-se porventura a candeia para ser colocada debaixo do alqueire ou debaixo da cama? Não é para ser posta no candeeiro?
22 For there is nothinge so prevy that shall not be opened: nether so secreet but that it shall come abroade.
22 Porque nada há oculto que não deva ser descoberto, nada secreto que não deva ser publicado.
23 Yf eny man have eares to heare let him heare.
23 Se alguém tem ouvidos para ouvir, que ouça.
24 And he sayde vnto them: take hede what ye heare. With what measure ye mete with the same shall it be measured vnto you agayne. And vnto you that heare shall more be geve.
24 Ele prosseguiu: Atendei ao que ouvis: com a medida com que medirdes, vos medirão a vós, e ainda se vos acrescentará.
25 For vnto him that hath shall it be geven: and from him that hath not shalbe taken awaye even that he hath.
25 Pois, ao que tem, se lhe dará; e ao que não tem, se lhe tirará até o que tem.
26 And he sayde: so is the kyngdome of God even as yf a man shuld sowe seed in the groude
26 Dizia também: O Reino de Deus é como um homem que lança a semente à terra.
27 and shulde slepe and ryse vp night and daye: and the seede shuld springe and growe vp he not ware.
27 Dorme, levanta-se, de noite e de dia, e a semente brota e cresce, sem ele o perceber.
28 For the erth bringeth forthe frute of her silfe: fyrst the blade then the eares after that full corne in the eares.
28 Pois a terra por si mesma produz, primeiro a planta, depois a espiga e, por último, o grão abundante na espiga.
29 And as sone as the frute is brought forth anone he throusteth in the sykell because the hervest is come.
29 Quando o fruto amadurece, ele mete-lhe a foice, porque é chegada a colheita.
30 And he sayde: where vnto shall we lyke the kyngdome of God? or with what compareson shall we compare it?
30 Dizia ele: A quem compararemos o Reino de Deus? Ou com que parábola o representaremos?
31 It is lyke a grayne of mustard seed which when it is sowe in the erth is the leest of all seedes that be in the erth:
31 É como o grão de mostarda que, quando é semeado, é a menor de todas as sementes.
32 but after that it is sowen it groweth vp and is greatest of all yerbes: and bereth greate brauches so that the fowles of the ayre maye dwell vnder the shadowe of it.
32 Mas, depois de semeado, cresce, torna-se maior que todas as hortaliças e estende de tal modo os seus ramos, que as aves do céu podem abrigar-se à sua sombra.
33 And with many soche similitudes he preached the worde vnto the after as they myght heare it.
33 Era por meio de numerosas parábolas desse gênero que ele lhes anunciava a palavra, conforme eram capazes de compreender.
34 And with out similitude spake he no thinge vnto them. But when they were aparte he expounded all thinges to his disciples.
34 E não lhes falava, a não ser em parábolas; a sós, porém, explicava tudo a seus discípulos.
35 And the same daye when even was come he sayde vnto them: let vs passe over vnto the other syde.
35 À tarde daquele dia, disse-lhes: Passemos para o outro lado.
36 And they lefte the people and toke him even as he was in the shyp. And ther were also with him other shippes.
36 Deixando o povo, levaram-no consigo na barca, assim como ele estava. Outras embarcações o escoltavam.
37 And ther arose a great storme of wynde and dasshed the waves into the ship so that it was full.
37 Nisto surgiu uma grande tormenta e lançava as ondas dentro da barca, de modo que ela já se enchia de água.
38 And he was in the sterne a slepe on a pelowe. And they awoke him and sayde to him: Master carest thou not that we perisshe?
38 Jesus achava-se na popa, dormindo sobre um travesseiro. Eles acordaram-no e disseram-lhe: Mestre, não te importa que pereçamos?
39 And he rose vp and rebuked the wynde and sayde vnto the see: peace and be still. And the winde alayed and ther folowed a greate calme.
39 E ele, despertando, repreendeu o vento e disse ao mar: Silêncio! Cala-te! E cessou o vento e seguiu-se grande bonança.
40 And he sayde vnto them: why are ye so fearfull? How is it that ye have no fayth?
40 Ele disse-lhes: Como sois medrosos! Ainda não tendes fé?
41 And they feared excedingly and sayde one to another: what felowe is this? For booth winde and see obey him.
41 Eles ficaram penetrados de grande temor e cochichavam entre si: Quem é este, a quem até o vento e o mar obedecem?
