1 It came to passe as the people preased vpon him to heare the worde of God that he stoode by the lake of Genezareth:
1 Estando Jesus à beira do lago de Genesaré, grandes multidões se apertavam em volta dele para ouvir a palavra de Deus.
2 and sawe two shippes stonde by the lake syde but the fisshermen were gone out of the and were wasshynge their nettes.
2 Ele notou que, junto à praia, havia dois barcos vazios, deixados por pescadores que lavavam suas redes.
3 And he entred in to one of the shippes which perteyned to Simon and prayed him that he wolde thrust out a litell from the londe. And he sate doune and taught the people out of the ship.
3 Entrou num dos barcos e pediu a Simão, seu dono, que o afastasse um pouco da praia. Então sentou-se no barco e dali ensinou as multidões.
4 When he had leeft speakynge he sayde vnto Simon: Launche out in to the depe and let slippe youre nettes to make a draught
4 Quando terminou de falar, disse a Simão: “Agora vá para onde é mais fundo e lancem as redes para pescar”.
5 And Simon answered and sayde to him: Master we have labored all nyght and have taken nothinge. Neverthelater at thy worde I will loose forthe the net.
5 Simão respondeu: “Mestre, trabalhamos duro a noite toda e não pegamos nada. Mas, por ser o senhor quem nos pede, vou lançar as redes novamente”.
6 And when they had so done they inclosed a greate multitude of fisshes. And their net brake:
6 Dessa vez, as redes ficaram tão cheias de peixes que começaram a se rasgar.
7 but they made signes to their felowes which were in the other ship that they shuld come and helpe the And they came: and filled bothe the shippes that they soncke agayne.
7 Então pediram ajuda aos companheiros do outro barco, e logo os dois barcos estavam tão cheios de peixes que quase afundaram.
8 When Simon Peter sawe that he fell doune at Iesus knees sayinge: Lorde goo from me for I am a synfull man.
8 Quando Simão Pedro se deu conta do que havia acontecido, caiu de joelhos diante de Jesus e disse: “Por favor, Senhor, afaste-se de mim, porque sou homem pecador”.
9 For he was vtterly astonyed and all that were with him at the draught of fisshe which they toke:
9 Pois ele e seus companheiros ficaram espantados com a quantidade de peixes que haviam pescado,
10 and so was also Iames and Iohn the sonnes of zebede which were parteners with Simon. And Iesus sayde vnto Simon: feare not from hence forthe thou shalt catche men.
10 assim como seus sócios, Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu. Jesus respondeu a Simão: “Não tenha medo! De agora em diante, você será pescador de gente”.
11 And they brought the shippes to londe and forsoke all and folowed him.
11 E, assim que chegaram à praia, deixaram tudo e seguiram Jesus.
12 And it fortuned as he was in a certayne cite: beholde ther was a man full of leprosy: and when he had spied Iesus he fell on his face and besought him sayinge: Lorde yf thou wilt thou canst make me cleane.
12 Num povoado, Jesus encontrou um homem coberto de lepra. Quando o homem viu Jesus, prostrou-se com o rosto em terra e suplicou para ser curado, dizendo: “Se o senhor quiser, pode me curar e me deixar limpo”.
13 And he strethed forth the hond and touched him sayinge: I will be thou cleane. And immediatly the leprosy departed from him.
13 Jesus estendeu a mão e o tocou. “Eu quero”, respondeu. “Seja curado e fique limpo!” No mesmo instante, a lepra desapareceu.
14 And he warned him that he shuld tell no man: but that he shuld goo and shewe him selfe to the Preste and offer for his clensynge accordinge as Moses commaundement was for a witnes vnto them.
14 Então Jesus o instruiu a não contar a ninguém o que havia acontecido. “Vá e apresente-se ao sacerdote para que ele o examine”, ordenou. “Leve a oferta que a lei de Moisés exige pela sua purificação. Isso servirá como testemunho.”
15 But so moche the moare went ther a fame abroade of him and moche people cam to geder to heare and to be healed of him of their infirmities.
15 Mas as notícias a seu respeito se espalhavam ainda mais, e grandes multidões vinham para ouvi-lo e para ser curadas de suas enfermidades.
16 And he kepte him silfe aparte in the wildernesses and gave him silfe to prayer.
16 Ele, porém, se retirava para lugares isolados, a fim de orar.
17 And it happened on a certayne daye that he taught: and ther sate the pharises: and docturs of lawe which were come out of all the tounes of Galile Iurie and Hierusalem. And the power of the Lorde was to heale them.
17 Certo dia, enquanto Jesus ensinava, alguns fariseus e mestres da lei estavam sentados por perto. Eles vinham de todos os povoados da Galileia, da Judeia e de Jerusalém. E o poder do Senhor para curar estava sobre Jesus.
18 And beholde me brought a man lyinge in his beed which was taken with a palsie: and sought meanes to brynge him in and to laye him before him.
18 Alguns homens vieram carregando um paralítico numa maca. Tentaram levá-lo para dentro da casa, até Jesus,
19 And when they coulde not finde by what waye they might bringe him in be cause of the prease they wet vp on the toppe of the housse and let him doune thorowe the tylinge beed and all in the middes before Iesus.
19 mas não conseguiram, por causa da multidão. Então subiram ao topo da casa e removeram uma parte do teto. Em seguida, baixaram o paralítico na maca até o meio da multidão, bem na frente dele.
20 When he sawe their fayth he sayde vnto him: man thy synnes are forgeven the.
20 Ao ver a fé que eles tinham, Jesus disse ao paralítico: “Homem, seus pecados estão perdoados”.
21 And the Scribes and the Parises begane to thinke sayinge: What felow is this which speaketh blasphemy? Who can forgeve synnes but God only?
21 Mas os fariseus e mestres da lei pensavam: “Quem ele pensa que é? Isso é blasfêmia! Somente Deus pode perdoar pecados!”.
22 When Iesus perceaved their thoughtes he answered and sayde vnto them: What thinke ye in youre hertes?
22 Jesus, sabendo o que pensavam, perguntou: “Por que vocês questionam essas coisas em seu coração?
23 Whether is easyar to saye thy synnes are forgeve the or to saye: rise and walke?
23 O que é mais fácil dizer: ‘Seus pecados estão perdoados?’ ou ‘Levante-se e ande’?
24 But that ye maye knowe that the sonne of man hath power to forgeve synnes on erth he sayde vnto the sicke of the palsie: I saye to the aryse take vp thy beed and go home to thy housse.
24 Mas eu lhes mostrarei que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade na terra para perdoar pecados”. Então disse ao paralítico: “Levante-se, pegue sua maca e vá para casa”.
25 And immediatly he rose vp before them and toke vp his beed where on he laye and departed to his awne housse praysinge God.
25 De imediato, à vista de todos, o homem se levantou, pegou sua maca e foi para casa louvando a Deus.
26 And they were all amased and they lauded God and were filled with feare sayinge: We have sene straunge thynges to daye.
26 Todos ficaram muitos admirados e, cheios de temor, louvaram a Deus, exclamando: “Hoje vimos coisas maravilhosas!”.
27 And after that he went forthe and sawe a Publican named Levi sittinge at the receyte of custome and sayde vnto him: folow me.
27 Depois disso, Jesus saiu da cidade e viu um cobrador de impostos chamado Levi sentado no local onde se coletavam impostos. “Siga-me”, disse-lhe Jesus,
28 And he leeft all roose vp and folowed him.
28 e Levi se levantou, deixou tudo e o seguiu.
29 And that same Levi made him a greate feaste at home in his awne housse. And ther was a greate company of publicans and of other that sate at meate with him.
29 Mais tarde, Levi ofereceu um banquete em sua casa, em honra de Jesus. Muitos cobradores de impostos e outros convidados comeram com eles,
30 And the Scribes and Pharises murmured agaynst his disciples sayinge: Why eate ye and drinke ye with publicans and synners?
30 mas os fariseus e mestres da lei se queixaram aos discípulos: “Por que vocês comem e bebem com cobradores de impostos e pecadores?”.
31 Iesus answered and sayde vnto the: They that are whole nede not of the phisicion: but they that are sicke.
31 Jesus lhes respondeu: “As pessoas saudáveis não precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes.
32 I came not to call the rightewes but synners to repentaunce.
32 Não vim para chamar os justos, mas sim os pecadores, para que se arrependam”.
33 Then they sayde vnto him: Why do the disciples of Iohn fast often and praye and the disciples of the Pharises also: and thine eate and drinke?
33 Algumas pessoas disseram a Jesus: “Os discípulos de João Batista jejuam e oram com frequência, e os discípulos dos fariseus também. Por que os seus vivem comendo e bebendo?”.
34 And he sayde vnto them: Can ye make the chyldren of the weddinge fast as longe as the brydgrome is present with them?
34 Jesus respondeu: “Por acaso os convidados de um casamento jejuam enquanto festejam com o noivo?
35 The dayes will come when the brydgrome shalbe take awaye from them: then shall they fast in those dayes
35 Um dia, porém, o noivo lhes será tirado, e então jejuarão”.
36 Then he spake vnto them in a similitude: No man putteth a pece of a newe garment in to an olde vesture: for yf he do: then breaketh he the newe and the pece that was taken out of the newe agreeth not with the olde.
36 Jesus também lhes apresentou a seguinte ilustração: “Ninguém rasgaria um pedaço de tecido de uma roupa nova para remendar uma roupa velha. Se o fizesse, estragaria a roupa nova, e o remendo não se ajustaria à roupa velha.
37 Also no man poureth newe wyne into olde vessels. For yf he do the newe wyne breaketh the vessels and runneth out it silfe and the vessels perisshe:
37 “E ninguém colocaria vinho novo em velhos recipientes de couro. Os recipientes velhos se arrebentariam, deixando vazar o vinho e estragando o recipiente.
38 But newe wyne must be poured into newe vessels and bothe are preserved.
38 Vinho novo deve ser guardado em recipientes novos.
39 Also no man that drinketh olde wine strayght waye can awaye with newe for he sayeth the olde is plesauter.
39 E ninguém que bebe o vinho velho escolhe beber o vinho novo, pois diz: ‘O vinho velho é melhor’”.
