1 And it chaunced in thoose dayes: that ther went oute a commaundment from Auguste the Emperour that all the woorlde shuld be taxed.
1 E aconteceu naqueles dias que saiu um decreto da parte de César Augusto, para que todo o mundo se alistasse
2 And this taxynge was the fyrst and executed when Syrenius was leftenaut in Syria.
2 (Este primeiro alistamento foi feito sendo Quirino presidente da Síria).
3 And every man went vnto his awne citie to be taxed.
3 E todos iam alistar-se, cada um à sua própria cidade.
4 And Ioseph also ascended from Galile oute of a cite called Nazareth into Iurie: vnto the cite of David which is called Bethleem because he was of the housse and linage of David
4 E subiu também José da Galiléia, da cidade de Nazaré, à Judéia, à cidade de Davi, chamada Belém (porque era da casa e família de Davi),
5 to be taxed with Mary his spoused wyfe which was with chylde.
5 A fim de alistar-se com Maria, sua esposa, que estava grávida.
6 And it fortuned whyll they were there her tyme was come that she shuld be delyvered.
6 E aconteceu que, estando eles ali, se cumpriram os dias em que ela havia de dar à luz.
7 And she brought forth her fyrst begotten sonne and wrapped him in swadlynge cloothes and layed him in a manger because ther was no roume for them within in the ynne.
7 E deu à luz a seu filho primogênito, e envolveu-o em panos, e deitou-o numa manjedoura, porque não havia lugar para eles na estalagem.
8 And ther were in the same region shepherdes abydinge in the felde and watching their flocke by nyght.
8 Ora, havia naquela mesma comarca pastores que estavam no campo, e guardavam, durante as vigílias da noite, o seu rebanho.
9 And loo: the angell of the lorde stode harde by the and the brightnes of the lorde shone rounde aboute them and they were soare afrayed.
9 E eis que o anjo do Senhor veio sobre eles, e a glória do Senhor os cercou de resplendor, e tiveram grande temor.
10 But the angell sayd vnto them: Be not afrayed. For beholde I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye that shal come to all the people:
10 E o anjo lhes disse: Não temais, porque eis aqui vos trago novas de grande alegria, que será para todo o povo:
11 for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of David a saveoure which is Christ the lorde.
11 Pois, na cidade de Davi, vos nasceu hoje o Salvador, que é Cristo, o Senhor.
12 And take this for a signe: ye hall fynde the chylde swadled and layed in a manger.
12 E isto vos será por sinal: Achareis o menino envolto em panos, e deitado numa manjedoura.
13 And streight waye ther was with the angell a multitude of hevenly sowdiers laudynge God and sayinge:
13 E, no mesmo instante, apareceu com o anjo uma multidão dos exércitos celestiais, louvando a Deus, e dizendo:
14 Glory to God an hye and peace on the erth: and vnto men reioysynge.
14 Glória a Deus nas alturas, Paz na terra, boa vontade para com os homens.
15 And it fortuned assone as the angels were gone awaye from them in to heven the shepherdes sayd one to another: let vs goo even vnto Bethleem and se this thynge that is hapened which the Lorde hath shewed vnto vs.
15 E aconteceu que, ausentando-se deles os anjos para o céu, disseram os pastores uns aos outros: Vamos, pois, até Belém, e vejamos isso que aconteceu, e que o Senhor nos fez saber.
16 And they cam with haste and founde Mary and Ioseph and the babe layde in a manger.
16 E foram apressadamente, e acharam Maria, e José, e o menino deitado na manjedoura.
17 And when they had sene it they publisshed a brode the sayinge which was tolde them of that chylde.
17 E, vendo-o, divulgaram a palavra que acerca do menino lhes fora dita;
18 And all that hearde it wondred at those thinges which were tolde the of the shepherdes.
18 E todos os que a ouviram se maravilharam do que os pastores lhes diziam.
19 But Mary kept all thoose sayinges and pondered them in hyr hert.
19 Mas Maria guardava todas estas coisas, conferindo-as em seu coração.
20 And the shepherdes retourned praysinge and laudinge God for all that they had herde and sene evyn as it was told vnto them.
20 E voltaram os pastores, glorificando e louvando a Deus por tudo o que tinham ouvido e visto, como lhes havia sido dito.
21 And when the eyght daye was come that the chylde shuld be circucised his name was called Iesus which was named of the angell before he was conceaved in the wombe.
21 E, quando os oito dias foram cumpridos, para circuncidar o menino, foi-lhe dado o nome de Jesus, que pelo anjo lhe fora posto antes de ser concebido.
22 And when the tyme of their purificacion (after the lawe of Moyses) was come they brought him to Hierusalem to present hym to the Lorde
22 E, cumprindo-se os dias da purificação dela, segundo a lei de Moisés, o levaram a Jerusalém, para o apresentarem ao Senhor
23 (as that is written in the lawe of the Lorde: every man that fyrst openeth the matrix shalbe called holy to the Lorde)
23 (Segundo o que está escrito na lei do Senhor: Todo o macho primogênito será consagrado ao Senhor);
24 and to offer (as it ys sayde in the lawe of the Lorde) a payre of turtle doves or two yonge pigions.
24 E para darem a oferta segundo o disposto na lei do Senhor: Um par de rolas ou dois pombinhos.
25 And beholde ther was a man in Hierusalem whose name was Simeon. And the same man was iuste and feared God and longed for the consolacion of Israel and the holy goost was in him.
25 Havia em Jerusalém um homem cujo nome era Simeão; e este homem era justo e temente a Deus, esperando a consolação de Israel; e o Espírito Santo estava sobre ele.
26 And an answer was geven him of the holy goost that he shulde not se deethe before he had sene the lordes Christ.
26 E fora-lhe revelado, pelo Espírito Santo, que ele não morreria antes de ter visto o Cristo do Senhor.
27 And he came by inspiracion into the temple. And when the father and mother brought in the chylde Iesus to do for him after the custome of the lawe
27 E pelo Espírito foi ao templo e, quando os pais trouxeram o menino Jesus, para com ele procederem segundo o uso da lei,
28 then toke he him vp in his armes and sayde.
28 Ele, então, o tomou em seus braços, e louvou a Deus, e disse:
29 Lorde Now lettest thou thy seruaut departe in peace accordinge to thy promes.
29 Agora, Senhor, despedes em paz o teu servo, Segundo a tua palavra;
30 For myne eyes have sene the saveour sent from the
30 Pois já os meus olhos viram a tua salvação,
31 Wich thou hast prepared before the face of all people.
31 A qual tu preparaste perante a face de todos os povos;
32 A light to lighten the gentyls and the glory of thy people Israel.
32 Luz para iluminar as nações, E para glória de teu povo Israel.
33 And his father and mother mervelled at those thinges which were spoke of him.
33 E José, e sua mãe, se maravilharam das coisas que dele se diziam.
34 And Simeon blessed them and sayde vnto Mary his mother: beholde this chyld shalbe the fall and resurreccion of many in Israel and a signe which shalbe spoke agaynste.
34 E Simeão os abençoou, e disse a Maria, sua mãe: Eis que este é posto para queda e elevação de muitos em Israel, e para sinal que é contraditado
35 And morover the swearde shall pearce thy soule that the thoughtes of many hertes maye be opened.
35 (E uma espada traspassará também a tua própria alma); para que se manifestem os pensamentos de muitos corações.
36 And ther was a Prophetesse one Anna the doughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Aser: which was of a greate age and had lyved with an husbande. vii. yeres from her virginite.
36 E estava ali a profetisa Ana, filha de Fanuel, da tribo de Aser. Esta era já avançada em idade, e tinha vivido com o marido sete anos, desde a sua virgindade;
37 And she had bene a wedowe aboute .iiii. scoore and .iiii. yere which went never oute of the temple but served God with fastinge and prayer nyght and daye.
37 E era viúva, de quase oitenta e quatro anos, e não se afastava do templo, servindo a Deus em jejuns e orações, de noite e de dia.
38 And the same came forth that same houre and praysed the Lorde and spake of him to all that loked for redempcion in Hierusalem.
38 E sobrevindo na mesma hora, ela dava graças a Deus, e falava dele a todos os que esperavam a redenção em Jerusalém.
39 And assone as they had performed all thinges accordinge to the lawe of the Lorde they returned into Galile to their awne cite Nazareth.
39 E, quando acabaram de cumprir tudo segundo a lei do Senhor, voltaram à Galiléia, para a sua cidade de Nazaré.
40 And the chylde grewe and wexed stronde in sprete and was filled with wysdome and the grace of God was with hym.
40 E o menino crescia, e se fortalecia em espírito, cheio de sabedoria; e a graça de Deus estava sobre ele.
41 And his father and mother went to Hierusalem every yeare at the feeste of ester.
41 Ora, todos os anos iam seus pais a Jerusalém à festa da páscoa;
42 And when he was .xii. yere olde they went vp to Hierusalem after the custome of the feeste.
42 E, tendo ele já doze anos, subiram a Jerusalém, segundo o costume do dia da festa.
43 And when they had fulfilled the dayes as they returned home the chylde Iesus boode styll in Hierusalem vnknowynge to his father and mother.
43 E, regressando eles, terminados aqueles dias, ficou o menino Jesus em Jerusalém, e não o soube José, nem sua mãe.
44 For they supposed he had bene in the company and therfore came a days iorney and sought him amonge their kynsfolke and acquayntaunce.
44 Pensando, porém, eles que viria de companhia pelo caminho, andaram caminho de um dia, e procuravam-no entre os parentes e conhecidos;
45 And when they founde hym not they went backe agayne to Hierusalem and sought him.
45 E, como o não encontrassem, voltaram a Jerusalém em busca dele.
46 And it fortuned after .iii. dayes that they founde him in the temple sittinge in the middes of the doctours both hearynge them and posinge them.
46 E aconteceu que, passados três dias, o acharam no templo, assentado no meio dos doutores, ouvindo-os, e interrogando-os.
47 And all that hearde him mervelled at his wit and answers.
47 E todos os que o ouviam admiravam a sua inteligência e respostas.
48 And when they sawe him they were astonyed. And his mother sayde vnto him: sonne why hast thou thus dealte with vs? Beholde thy father and I have sought the sorowenge.
48 E quando o viram, maravilharam-se, e disse-lhe sua mãe: Filho, por que fizeste assim para conosco? Eis que teu pai e eu ansiosos te procurávamos.
49 And he sayde vnto the: how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must goo aboute my fathers busines?
49 E ele lhes disse: Por que é que me procuráveis? Não sabeis que me convém tratar dos negócios de meu Pai?
50 And they vnderstode not the sayinge that he spake to them.
50 E eles não compreenderam as palavras que lhes dizia.
51 And he went with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to the. But his mother kept all these thinges in her hert.
51 E desceu com eles, e foi para Nazaré, e era-lhes sujeito. E sua mãe guardava no seu coração todas estas coisas.
52 And Iesus increased in wisdom and age and in favoure with god and man.
52 E crescia Jesus em sabedoria, e em estatura, e em graça para com Deus e os homens.
