1 After that ther was a feast of the Iewes and Iesus went vp to Ierusalem.
1 Passadas estas coisas, havia uma festa dos judeus, e Jesus subiu para Jerusalém.
2 And ther is at Ierusalem by the slaughterhousse a pole called in the Ebrue tonge Bethseda havinge five porches
2 Ora, existe ali, junto à Porta das Ovelhas, um tanque, chamado em hebraico Betesda, o qual tem cinco pavilhões.
3 in which laye a greate multitude of sicke folke of blinde halt and wyddered waytinge for the movinge of the water.
3 Nestes, jazia uma multidão de enfermos, cegos, coxos, paralíticos
4 For an angell wet doune at a certayne ceason into the pole and troubled the water. Whosoever then fyrst after the steringe of the water stepped in was made whoale of what soever disease he had.
4 [esperando que se movesse a água. Porquanto um anjo descia em certo tempo, agitando-a; e o primeiro que entrava no tanque, uma vez agitada a água, sarava de qualquer doença que tivesse].
5 And a certayne man was theare which had bene diseased .xxxviii. yeares.
5 Estava ali um homem enfermo havia trinta e oito anos.
6 When Iesus sawe him lye and knewe that he now longe tyme had bene diseased he sayde vnto him. Wilt thou be made whoale?
6 Jesus, vendo-o deitado e sabendo que estava assim há muito tempo, perguntou-lhe: Queres ser curado?
7 The sicke answered him: Syr I have no man when the water is troubled to put me into the pole. But in the meane tyme whill I am about to come another steppeth doune before me.
7 Respondeu-lhe o enfermo: Senhor, não tenho ninguém que me ponha no tanque, quando a água é agitada; pois, enquanto eu vou, desce outro antes de mim.
8 And Iesus sayde vnto him: ryse take vp thy beed and walke.
8 Então, lhe disse Jesus: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito e anda.
9 And immediatly the man was made whole and toke vp his beed and went. And the same daye was the Saboth daye.
9 Imediatamente, o homem se viu curado e, tomando o leito, pôs-se a andar. E aquele dia era sábado.
10 The Iewes therfore sayde vnto him that was made whole. It is the Saboth daye it is not laufull for the to cary thy beed.
10 Por isso, disseram os judeus ao que fora curado: Hoje é sábado, e não te é lícito carregar o leito.
11 He answered them: he that made me whole sayde vnto me: take vp thy beed and get the hence.
11 Ao que ele lhes respondeu: O mesmo que me curou me disse: Toma o teu leito e anda.
12 Then axed they him: what man is that which sayde vnto the take vp thy beed and walke.
12 Perguntaram-lhe eles: Quem é o homem que te disse: Toma o teu leito e anda?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was. For Iesus had gotte him selfe awaye be cause that ther was preace of people in the place.
13 Mas o que fora curado não sabia quem era; porque Jesus se havia retirado, por haver muita gente naquele lugar.
14 And after that Iesus founde him in the temple and sayd vnto him: beholde thou arte made whole synne no moore lest a worsse thinge happen vnto the.
14 Mais tarde, Jesus o encontrou no templo e lhe disse: Olha que já estás curado; não peques mais, para que não te suceda coisa pior.
15 The man departed and tolde the Iewes that that was Iesus whiche had made him whole.
15 O homem retirou-se e disse aos judeus que fora Jesus quem o havia curado.
16 And therfore the Iewes dyd persecute Iesus and sought the meanes to slee him because he had done these thinges on the Saboth daye.
16 E os judeus perseguiam Jesus, porque fazia estas coisas no sábado.
17 And Iesus answered them: my father worketh hidder to and I worke.
17 Mas ele lhes disse: Meu Pai trabalha até agora, e eu trabalho também.
18 Therfore the Iewes sought the moare to kill him not only because he had broken the Saboth: but sayde also that God was his father and made him selfe equall with God.
18 Por isso, pois, os judeus ainda mais procuravam matá-lo, porque não somente violava o sábado, mas também dizia que Deus era seu próprio Pai, fazendo-se igual a Deus.
19 Then answered Iesus and sayde vnto them: verely verely I saye vnto you: the sonne can do no thinge of him selfe but that he seeth the father do. For whatsoever he doeth that doeth the sonne also.
19 Então, lhes falou Jesus: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que o Filho nada pode fazer de si mesmo, senão somente aquilo que vir fazer o Pai; porque tudo o que este fizer, o Filho também semelhantemente o faz.
20 For the father loveth the sonne and sheweth him all thinges whatsoever he him selfe doeth. And he will shewe him greter workes then these because the shoulde marvayle.
20 Porque o Pai ama ao Filho, e lhe mostra tudo o que faz, e maiores obras do que estas lhe mostrará, para que vos maravilheis.
21 For lykwyse as the father rayseth vp the deed and quickeneth them even so the sonne quyckeneth whom he will.
21 Pois assim como o Pai ressuscita e vivifica os mortos, assim também o Filho vivifica aqueles a quem quer.
22 Nether iudgeth the father eny man: but hath committed all iudgement vnto the sonne
22 E o Pai a ninguém julga, mas ao Filho confiou todo julgamento,
23 because that all men shuld honoure the sonne even as they honoure the father. He that honoureth not the sonne the same honoureth not the father which hath sent him.
23 a fim de que todos honrem o Filho do modo por que honram o Pai. Quem não honra o Filho não honra o Pai que o enviou.
24 Verely verely I saye vnto you: He that heareth my wordes and beleveth on him that sent me hath everlastinge lyfe and shall not come into damnacion: but is scaped from deth vnto lyfe.
24 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: quem ouve a minha palavra e crê naquele que me enviou tem a vida eterna, não entra em juízo, mas passou da morte para a vida.
25 Verely verely I saye vnto you: the tyme shall come and now is when the deed shall heare the voyce of the sonne of God. And they that heare shall live.
25 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que vem a hora e já chegou, em que os mortos ouvirão a voz do Filho de Deus; e os que a ouvirem viverão.
26 For as the father hath life in him silfe: so lyke wyse hath he geven to the sonne to have lyfe in him silfe:
26 Porque assim como o Pai tem vida em si mesmo, também concedeu ao Filho ter vida em si mesmo.
27 and hath geven him power also to iudge in that he is the sonne of man.
27 E lhe deu autoridade para julgar, porque é o Filho do Homem.
28 Marvayle not at this the houre shall come in the which all that are in the graves shall heare his voice
28 Não vos maravilheis disto, porque vem a hora em que todos os que se acham nos túmulos ouvirão a sua voz e sairão:
29 and shall come forthe: they that have done good vnto the resurreccion of lyfe: and they that have done evyll vnto the resurreccion of dampnacion.
29 os que tiverem feito o bem, para a ressurreição da vida; e os que tiverem praticado o mal, para a ressurreição do juízo.
30 I can of myne awne selfe do nothinge at all. As I heare I iudge and my iudgement is iust because I seke not myne awne will but the will of the father which hath sent me.
30 Eu nada posso fazer de mim mesmo; na forma por que ouço, julgo. O meu juízo é justo, porque não procuro a minha própria vontade, e sim a daquele que me enviou.
31 Yf I beare witnes of my selfe my witnes is not true.
31 Se eu testifico a respeito de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
32 Ther is a nother that beareth witnes of me and I am sure that the witnes whiche he beareth of me is true.
32 Outro é o que testifica a meu respeito, e sei que é verdadeiro o testemunho que ele dá de mim.
33 Ye sent vnto Iohn and he bare witnes vnto the truthe.
33 Mandastes mensageiros a João, e ele deu testemunho da verdade.
34 But I receave not the recorde of man. Neverthelesse these thinges I saye that ye might be safe.
34 Eu, porém, não aceito humano testemunho; digo-vos, entretanto, estas coisas para que sejais salvos.
35 He was a burninge and a shyninge light and ye wolde for a season have reioysed in his light.
35 Ele era a lâmpada que ardia e alumiava, e vós quisestes, por algum tempo, alegrar-vos com a sua luz.
36 But I have greater witnes then the witnes of Iohn. For the workes which the father hath geve me to fynisshe: the same workes which I do beare witnes of me that the father sent me.
36 Mas eu tenho maior testemunho do que o de João; porque as obras que o Pai me confiou para que eu as realizasse, essas que eu faço testemunham a meu respeito de que o Pai me enviou.
37 And the father him silfe which hath sent me beareth witnes of me. Ye have not hearde his voyce at eny tyme nor ye have sene his shape:
37 O Pai, que me enviou, esse mesmo é que tem dado testemunho de mim. Jamais tendes ouvido a sua voz, nem visto a sua forma.
38 therto his wordes have ye not abydinge in you. For whome he hath sent: him ye beleve not.
38 Também não tendes a sua palavra permanente em vós, porque não credes naquele a quem ele enviou.
39 Searche the scriptures for in them ye thinke ye have eternall lyfe: and they are they which testify of me.
39 Examinais as Escrituras, porque julgais ter nelas a vida eterna, e são elas mesmas que testificam de mim.
40 And yet will ye not come to me that ye might have lyfe.
40 Contudo, não quereis vir a mim para terdes vida.
41 I receave not prayse of men.
41 Eu não aceito glória que vem dos homens;
42 But I knowe you that ye have not the love of God in you
42 sei, entretanto, que não tendes em vós o amor de Deus.
43 I am come in my fathers name and ye receave me not. Yf another shall come in his awne name him will ye receave.
43 Eu vim em nome de meu Pai, e não me recebeis; se outro vier em seu próprio nome, certamente, o recebereis.
44 How can ye beleve which receave honoure one of another and seke not the honoure that commeth of God only?
44 Como podeis crer, vós os que aceitais glória uns dos outros e, contudo, não procurais a glória que vem do Deus único?
45 Doo not thinke that I wyll accuse you to my father. Ther is one that accuseth you even Moses in whom ye trust.
45 Não penseis que eu vos acusarei perante o Pai; quem vos acusa é Moisés, em quem tendes firmado a vossa confiança.
46 For had ye beleved Moses ye wold have beleved me: for he wrote of me.
46 Porque, se, de fato, crêsseis em Moisés, também creríeis em mim; porquanto ele escreveu a meu respeito.
47 But now ye beleve not his writinge: how shall ye beleve my wordes.
47 Se, porém, não credes nos seus escritos, como crereis nas minhas palavras?
