1 The sprete speaketh evydently that in the latter tymes some shall departe from the fayth and shall geve hede vnto spretes of erroure and dyvelysshe doctrine
1 O Espírito afirma claramente que nos últimos tempos alguns se desviarão da fé, dando ouvidos a espíritos enganadores e a ensinamentos de demônios,
2 of them which speake falce thorow ypocrisye and have their consciences marked with an hote yron
2 que vêm de indivíduos hipócritas e mentirosos, cuja consciência está morta.
3 forbyddinge to mary and commaundinge to abstayne from meates which God hath created to be receaved with gevynge thankes of them which beleve and knowe the trueth.
3 Tais pessoas afirmam que é errado se casar e proíbem que se comam certos alimentos, que Deus criou para serem recebidos com ação de graças pelos que são fiéis e conhecedores da verdade.
4 For all the creatures of God are good and nothynge to be refused yf it be receaved with thankes gevynge.
4 Porque tudo que Deus fez é bom, não devemos rejeitar nada, mas a tudo receber com ação de graças,
5 For it is sanctyfyed by the worde of God and prayer.
5 pois sabemos que se torna aceitável pela palavra de Deus e pela oração.
6 Yf thou shalt put the brethren in remembraunce of these thynges thou shalt be a good minister of Iesu Christ which hast bene norisshed vp in the wordes of the fayth and good doctryne which doctryne thou hast continually followed.
6 Se você explicar estas coisas aos irmãos, será um bom servo de Cristo Jesus, nutrido pela mensagem da fé e pelo bom ensino que tem seguido.
7 But cast awaye vngostly and olde wyves fables. Exercyse thy silfe vnto godlines.
7 Não perca tempo discutindo mitos profanos e crendices absurdas. Em vez disso, exercite-se na devoção.
8 For bodely exercise proffiteth lyttll: But godlines is good vnto all thynges as a thynge which hath promyses of the lyfe that is now and of the lyfe to come.
8 “O exercício físico tem algum valor, mas exercitar-se na devoção é muito melhor, pois promete benefícios não apenas nesta vida, mas também na vida futura.”
9 This is a sure sayinge and of all parties worthy to be receaved.
9 Essa é uma afirmação digna de confiança, e todos devem aceitá-la.
10 For therfore we laboure and suffre rebuke because we beleve in the livynge god which is the savioure of all men: but specially of those that beleve.
10 Trabalhamos arduamente e continuamos a lutar porque nossa esperança está no Deus vivo, o Salvador de todos, especialmente dos que creem.
11 Suche thynges commaunde and teache.
11 Ensine estas coisas e insista nelas.
12 Let no man despyse thy youth: but be vnto them that beleve an insample in worde in conversacion in love in sprete in fayth and in purenes.
12 Não deixe que ninguém o menospreze porque você é jovem. Seja exemplo para todos os fiéis nas palavras, na conduta, no amor, na fé e na pureza.
13 Till I come geve attendaunce to redynge to exhortacion and to doctryne.
13 Até minha chegada, dedique-se à leitura pública das Escrituras, ao encorajamento e ao ensino.
14 Despyse not the gyfte that is in ye which was geven the thorow prophesye and with layinge on of the hondes of an elder.
14 Não descuide do dom que recebeu por meio de profecia quando os presbíteros impuseram as mãos sobre você.
15 These thynges exercyse and geve thy silfe vnto them that it maye be sene how thou profetest in all thinges.
15 Dedique total atenção a essas questões. Entregue-se inteiramente a suas tarefas, para que todos vejam seu progresso.
16 Take hede vnto thy silfe and vnto learnynge and continue therin. For if thou shalt so do thou shalt save thy silfe and them that heare the.
16 Fique atento a seu modo de viver e a seus ensinamentos. Permaneça fiel ao que é certo, e assim salvará a si mesmo e àqueles que o ouvem.
