1 My lytell children these thynges write I vnto you that ye synne not: yf eny man synne yet we have an advocate with the father Iesus Christ which is righteous:
1 Meus filhinhos, estas coisas vos escrevo, para que não pequeis; mas, se alguém pecar, temos um Advogado para com o Pai, Jesus Cristo, o justo.
2 and he it is that obteyneth grace for oure synnes: not for oure synnes only: but also for the synnes of all the worlde.
2 E ele é a propiciação pelos nossos pecados, e não somente pelos nossos, mas também pelos de todo o mundo.
3 And herby we are sure that we knowe him yf we kepe his commaundementes.
3 E nisto sabemos que o conhecemos; se guardamos os seus mandamentos.
4 He that sayth I knowe him and kepeth not his commaundementes is a lyar and the veritie is not in him.
4 Aquele que diz: Eu o conheço, e não guarda os seus mandamentos, é mentiroso, e nele não está a verdade;
5 Whosoever kepeth his (worde) in him is the love of god parfect in dede. And therby knowe we that we are in him.
5 mas qualquer que guarda a sua palavra, nele realmente se tem aperfeiçoado o amor de Deus. E nisto sabemos que estamos nele;
6 He that sayth he bydeth in him ought to walke even as he walked.
6 aquele que diz estar nele, também deve andar como ele andou.
7 Brethren I write no newe commaundement vnto you: but that olde commaundement which ye hearde from the begynnynge. The olde commaundement is the worde which ye hearde from the begynnynge.
7 Amados, não vos escrevo mandamento novo, mas um mandamento antigo, que tendes desde o princípio. Este mandamento antigo é a palavra que ouvistes.
8 Agayne a newe commaundement I write vnto you a thynge that is true in him and also in you: for the darknes is past and the true lyght now shyneth.
8 Contudo é um novo mandamento que vos escrevo, o qual é verdadeiro nele e em vós; porque as trevas vão passando, e já brilha a verdadeira luz.
9 He that sayth how that he is in the light and yet hateth his brother is in darknes even vntyll this tyme.
9 Aquele que diz estar na luz, e odeia a seu irmão, até agora está nas trevas.
10 He that loveth his brother abydeth in the light and ther is none occasion of evyll in him.
10 Aquele que ama a seu irmão permanece na luz, e nele não há tropeço.
11 He that hateth his brother is in darknes and walketh in darknes: and cannot tell whither he goeth because that darknes hath blynded his eyes.
11 Mas aquele que odeia a seu irmão está nas trevas, e anda nas trevas, e não sabe para onde vai; porque as trevas lhe cegaram os olhos.
12 Babes I write vnto you how that youre synnes are forgeven you for his names sake.
12 Filhinhos, eu vos escrevo, porque os vossos pecados são perdoados por amor do seu nome.
13 I wryte vnto you fathers how that ye have knowen him that was from the begynnynge. I wryte vnto you yonge men how that ye have overcome the wicked. I wryte vnto you lytell children how that ye have knowne the father.
13 Pais, eu vos escrevo, porque conheceis aquele que é desde o princípio. Jovens, eu vos escrevo, porque vencestes o Maligno.
14 I wryte vnto you fathers how that ye have knowe him that was from the begynnynge. I wryte vnto you youge men how that ye are stronge: and the worde of God abydeth in you and ye have overcome that wicked.
14 Eu vos escrevi, meninos, porque conheceis o Pai. Eu vos escrevi, pais, porque conheceis aquele que é desde o princípio. Eu escrevi, jovens, porque sois fortes, e a palavra de Deus permanece em vós, e já vencestes o Maligno.
15 Se that ye love not the worlde nether the thynges that are in the worlde. Yf eny man love the worlde the love of the father is not in him.
15 Não ameis o mundo, nem o que há no mundo. Se alguém ama o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele.
16 For all that is in the worlde (as the lust of the flesshe the lust of the eyes and the pryde of gooddes) is not of the father: but of the worlde
16 Porque tudo o que há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, a concupiscência dos olhos e a soberba da vida, não vem do Pai, mas sim do mundo.
17 And the worlde vannyssheth awaye and the lust therof: but he that fulfilleth the will of god abydeth ever.
17 Ora, o mundo passa, e a sua concupiscência; mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus, permanece para sempre.
18 Lytell children it is the last tyme and as ye have herde how that Antichrist shall come: even now are there many Antichristes come allredy. Wherby we knowe that it is the last tyme.
18 Filhinhos, esta é a última hora; e, conforme ouvistes que vem o anticristo, já muitos anticristos se têm levantado; por onde conhecemos que é a última hora.
19 They went oute from vs but they were not of vs. For yf they had bene of vs they wolde no dout have continued with vs. But that fortuned that that myght appere that they were not of vs.
19 Saíram dentre nós, mas não eram dos nossos; porque, se fossem dos nossos, teriam permanecido conosco; mas todos eles saíram para que se manifestasse que não são dos nossos.
20 And ye have an oyntment of the holy gost and ye knowe all thynges.
20 Ora, vós tendes a unção da parte do Santo, e todos tendes conhecimento.
21 I wrote not vnto you as though ye knewe not the trueth: but as though ye knewe it and knowe also that no lye commeth of trueth.
21 Não vos escrevi porque não soubésseis a verdade, mas porque a sabeis, e porque nenhuma mentira vem da verdade.
22 Who is a lyar: but he that denyeth that Iesus is Christ? The same is the Antichrist that denyeth the father and the sonne.
22 Quem é o mentiroso, senão aquele que nega que Jesus é o Cristo? Esse mesmo é o anticristo, esse que nega o Pai e o Filho.
23 Whosoever denyeth the sonne the same hath not the father.
23 Qualquer que nega o Filho, também não tem o Pai; aquele que confessa o Filho, tem também o Pai.
24 Let therfore abyde in you that same which ye hearde from the begynnynge. Yf that which ye hearde from the begynnynge shall remayne in you ye also shall continewe in the sonne and in the father
24 Portanto, o que desde o princípio ouvistes, permaneça em vós. Se em vós permanecer o que desde o princípio ouvistes, também vós permanecereis no Filho e no Pai.
25 And this is the promes that he hath promysed vs even eternall lyfe.
25 E esta é a promessa que ele nos fez: a vida eterna.
26 This have I written vnto you concernynge the that disceave you.
26 Estas coisas vos escrevo a respeito daqueles que vos querem enganar.
27 And the anoyntynge which ye have receaved of him dwelleth in you. And ye nede not that eny man teache you: but as the annoyntynge teaheth you all thynges and is true and is no lye: and as it taught you even so byde therin.
27 E quanto a vós, a unção que dele recebestes fica em vós, e não tendes necessidade de que alguém vos ensine; mas, como a sua unção vos ensina a respeito de todas as coisas, e é verdadeira, e não é mentira, como vos ensinou ela, assim nele permanecei.
28 And nowe babes abyde in him that when he shall appere we maye be bolde and not be made a shamed of him at his commynge.
28 E agora, filhinhos, permanecei nele; para que, quando ele se manifestar, tenhamos confiança, e não fiquemos confundidos diante dele na sua vinda.
29 Yf ye knowe that he is righteous knowe also that he which foloweth rightewesnes is borne of him.
29 Se sabeis que ele é justo, sabeis que todo aquele que pratica a justiça é nascido dele.
