1 “For the leader of the music of the Jeduthunites, A psalm of David.” Truly my soul resteth on God alone; From him cometh my deliverance!
1 Ao mestre de canto. Segundo Iditum. Salmo de Davi. Só em Deus repousa minha alma, só dele me vem a salvação.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my safeguard, I shall not wholly fall!
2 Só ele é meu rochedo, minha salvação; minha fortaleza: jamais vacilarei.
3 How long will ye continue to assault a single man? How long will ye all seek to destroy me, Like a bending wall, or a tottering fence?
3 Até quando, juntos, atacareis o próximo para derribá-lo como a uma parede já inclinada, como a um muro que se fendeu?
4 They study how to cast me down from my eminence; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse.
4 Sim, de meu excelso lugar pretendem derrubar-me; eles se comprazem na mentira. Enquanto me bendizem com os lábios, amaldiçoam-me no coração.
5 My soul, rest thou on God alone, For from him cometh my hope!
5 Só em Deus repousa a minha alma, é dele que me vem o que eu espero.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my safeguard, —I shall not fall.
6 Só ele é meu rochedo e minha salvação; minha fortaleza: jamais vacilarei.
7 From God cometh my help and my glory: My strong rock, my refuge, is God.
7 Só em Deus encontrarei glória e salvação. Ele é meu rochedo protetor, meu refúgio está nele.
8 Trust in him at all times, ye people! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our refuge!
8 Ó povo, confia nele de uma vez por todas; expandi, em sua presença, os vossos corações. Nosso refúgio está em Deus.
9 Truly men of low degree are vanity, And men of high degree are a lie; Placed in the balance, They are all lighter than vanity.
9 Os homens não passam de um sopro, e de uma mentira os filhos dos homens. Eles sobem na concha da balança, pois todos juntos são mais leves que o vento.
10 Trust not in extortion; Place no vain hopes in rapine! If riches increase, set not your heart upon them!
10 Não confieis na violência, nem espereis vãmente no roubo; crescendo vossas riquezas, não prendais nelas os vossos corações.
11 Once hath God promised, twice have I heard it, That power belongeth unto God.
11 Numa só palavra de Deus compreendi duas coisas: a Deus pertence o poder,
12 To thee also, O Lord! belongeth mercy; For thou dost render to every man according to his work!
12 ao Senhor pertence a bondade. Pois vós dais a cada um segundo suas obras.
