1 “For the leader of the music. To be sung on stringed instruments A psalm of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?” Save me, O God! by thy name, And by thy strength defend my cause!
1 Ó Deus, salva-me, pelo teu nome, e faze-me justiça pelo teu poder.
2 O God! hear my prayer, Give ear to the words of my mouth!
2 Escuta, ó Deus, a minha oração, dá ouvidos às palavras da minha boca.
3 For enemies have risen up against me, And oppressors seek my life; They have not set God before their eyes. [[Pause.]]
3 Pois contra mim se levantam os insolentes, e os violentos procuram tirar-me a vida; eles não têm Deus diante de si.
4 Behold! God is my helper; The Lord is the support of my life.
4 Eis que Deus é o meu ajudador, o Senhor é quem me sustenta a vida.
5 He will repay evil to my enemies; For thy truth's sake, O God! cut them off!
5 Ele retribuirá o mal aos meus inimigos. Por tua fidelidade, acaba com eles.
6 With a willing heart will I sacrifice to thee; I will praise thy name, O LORD! for it is good;
6 Eu te oferecerei sacrifícios voluntariamente; louvarei o teu nome, ó porque é bom.
7 For thou hast delivered me from all trouble, So that my eye hath looked with joy upon my enemies!
7 Pois ele me livrou de todas as minhas aflições; e os meus olhos viram a ruína dos meus inimigos.
