Salmos 53

1 “For the leader of the music. To be sung on wind instruments. A psalm of David.” The fool saith in his heart, “There is no God!” They are corrupt; their doings are abominable; There is none that doeth good.
1 Ao Músico-chefe sobre Maalate, Masquil, Salmo de Davi. O tolo disse em seu coração: Não há Deus, eles são corruptos, e cometeram abominável iniquidade; não há ninguém que faça o bem.
2 God looketh down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any that have understanding, That have regard to God.
2 Deus olhou lá do céu, sobre os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia alguém que tivesse entendimento, que buscasse a Deus.
3 They are all gone astray; together are they corrupt; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3 Cada um deles se virou. Eles todos se tornaram imundos; não há ninguém que faça o bem, não, nem sequer um.
4 Shall not the evil-doers be requited, Who eat up my people like bread, And call not upon God?
4 Os trabalhadores da perversidade não têm nenhum conhecimento? Os que devoram o meu povo como quem devora o pão; eles não clamaram a Deus.
5 Yea! fear shall come upon them, Where no fear is; For God will scatter the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou shalt put them to shame, for God despiseth them!
5 Lá estavam eles em grande temor, onde não havia temor. Pois Deus espalhou os ossos daquele que acampa contra ti. Tu os envergonhaste, porque Deus os desprezou.
6 O that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captives of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel be glad.
6 Oh, se a salvação de Israel viesse de Sião! Quando Deus trouxer os cativos de seu povo, Jacó se regozijará, e Israel será feliz.
