1 “A psalm of David.” Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned!
1 Feliz aquele cujas maldades Deus perdoa e cujos pecados ele apaga!
2 Happy the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile!
2 Feliz aquele que o Senhor Deus não acusa de fazer coisas más e que não age com falsidade!
3 While I kept silence, my bones were wasted, By reason of my groaning all the day long.
3 Enquanto não confessei o meu pecado, eu me cansava, chorando o dia inteiro.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; My moisture dried up, as in summer's drought.
4 De dia e de noite, tu me castigaste, ó Deus, e as minhas forças se acabaram como o sereno que seca no calor do verão.
5 At length I acknowledged to thee my sin, And did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgression to the LORD;” And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin! [[Pause.]]
5 Então eu te confessei o meu pecado e não escondi a minha maldade. Resolvi confessar tudo a ti, e tu perdoaste todos os meus pecados.
6 Therefore shall every pious man pray to thee, while thou mayst be found; Surely the floods of great waters shall not come near him.
6 Por isso, nos momentos de angústia, todos os que são fiéis a ti devem orar. Assim, quando as grandes ondas de sofrimento vierem, não chegarão até eles.
7 Thou art my hiding-place; thou preservest me from trouble; Thou compassest me about with songs of deliverance. [[Pause.]]
7 Tu és o meu esconderijo; tu me livras da aflição. Eu canto bem alto a tua salvação, pois me tens protegido.
8 I will instruct thee, and show thee the way thou shouldst go; I will give thee counsel, and keep mine eye upon thee.
8 O Senhor Deus me disse: “Eu lhe ensinarei o caminho por onde você deve ir; eu vou guiá-lo e orientá-lo.
9 Be ye not like the horse and the mule, which have no understanding, Whose mouths must be pressed with the bridle and curb, Because they will not come near thee!
9 Não seja uma pessoa sem juízo como o cavalo ou a mula, que precisam ser guiados com cabresto e rédeas para que obedeçam.”
10 The wicked hath many sorrows; But he that trusteth in the LORD is encompassed with mercies.
10 Os maus sofrem muito, mas os que confiam em Deus, o são protegidos pelo seu amor.
11 Rejoice in the LORD, and be glad, ye righteous; Shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart!
11 Todos vocês que são corretos, alegrem-se e fiquem contentes por causa daquilo que o tem feito! Cantem de alegria, todos vocês que são obedientes a ele!
