1 “A psalm of David.” The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the shield of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
1 Salmo de Davi. O SENHOR é a minha luz e a minha salvação; a quem temerei? O SENHOR é a força da minha vida; de quem ficarei com medo?
2 When the wicked came upon me to devour me, Even my persecutors and enemies, they stumbled and fell.
2 Quando os perversos, até meus inimigos e adversários, vieram a mim para comer a minha carne, eles tropeçaram e caíram.
3 Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, yet will I be confident.
3 Ainda que um exército acampe contra mim, meu coração não temerá; ainda que a guerra se levante contra mim, nisso eu estarei confiante.
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD; that do I yet seek; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the grace of the LORD, And to gaze upon his temple.
4 Uma coisa eu desejei do SENHOR, que eu irei buscar; que eu possa habitar na casa do SENHOR todos os dias da minha vida, para contemplar a beleza do SENHOR, e para inquirir em seu templo.
5 For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion; Yea, in the secret place of his tabernacle will he shelter me; He will set me upon a rock.
5 Porque no tempo da dificuldade ele me esconderá no seu pavilhão; no segredo do seu tabernáculo ele me esconderá; ele me porá sobre uma rocha.
6 Yea, already doth he lift my head above my enemies, who are around me; Therefore in his tabernacle will I offer sacrifices with the sound of trumpets; I will sing, yea, with instruments of music I will give praise to the LORD.
6 E agora minha cabeça será levantada sobre meus inimigos ao meu redor; portanto, oferecerei em seu tabernáculo sacrifícios de alegria; sim, eu cantarei louvores ao SENHOR.
7 Hear my voice, O LORD! when I cry unto thee; Have pity upon me, and answer me!
7 Ouve, ó SENHOR, quando eu clamar com a minha voz; tem misericórdia sobre mim, e responde-me.
8 When I think of thy precept, “Seek ye my face!” Thy face, LORD, do I seek.
8 Quando tu disseste: Buscai a minha face; meu coração disse a ti: Tua face, SENHOR, eu buscarei.
9 O hide not thou thy face from me; Cast not thy servant away in displeasure! Thou hast been my help, do not leave me; Do not forsake me, O God, my helper!
9 Não escondas tua face longe de mim; não ponhas teu servo longe por ira; tu tens sido meu socorro; não me deixes, nem me abandones, ó Deus da minha salvação.
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me; But the LORD will take me up.
10 Quando meu pai e minha mãe me abandonarem, então o SENHOR me acolherá.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD! And lead me in the right path, because of my enemies!
11 Ensina-me o teu caminho, ó SENHOR, e guia-me em uma vereda plana, por causa de meus inimigos.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries! For false witnesses have risen up against me, And such as breathe out injustice.
12 Não me entregues à vontade de meus inimigos; porque falsos testemunhos são levantados contra mim, e tais como expirar crueldade.
13 I trust that I shall see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Hope thou in the LORD!
13 Eu teria desmaiado, se não tivesse crido em ver a bondade do SENHOR na terra dos vivos.
14 Be of good courage; let thy heart be strong; Hope thou in the LORD!
14 Espera no SENHOR; sê de boa coragem, e ele fortalecerá o teu coração; espera, eu digo, no SENHOR.
