1 “A psalm off David.” Preserve me, O God! for to thee do I look for help.
1 Protege-me, ó Deus, pois em ti me refugio.
2 I have said to Jehovah, Thou art my Lord; I have no happiness beyond thee!
2 Ao Senhor declaro: "Tu és o meu Senhor; não tenho bem nenhum além de ti".
3 The holy that are in the land, and the excellent,—in them is all my delight.
3 Quanto aos fiéis que há na terra, eles é que são os notáveis em quem está todo o meu prazer.
4 They who hasten after other gods shall have multiplied sorrows; Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.
4 Grande será o sofrimento dos que correm atrás de outros deuses. Não participarei dos seus sacrifícios de sangue, e os meus lábios nem mencionarão os seus nomes.
5 Jehovah is my portion and my cup; Thou wilt maintain my lot!
5 Senhor, tu és a minha porção e o meu cálice; és tu que garantes o meu futuro.
6 My portion hath fallen to me in pleasant places; Yea, I have a goodly inheritance.
6 As divisas caíram para mim em lugares agradáveis: Tenho uma bela herança!
7 I will bless the LORD, who careth for me; Yea, in the night my heart admonisheth me.
7 Bendirei o Senhor, que me aconselha; na escura noite o meu coração me ensina!
8 I set the LORD before me at all times; Since he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.
8 Sempre tenho o Senhor diante de mim. Com ele à minha direita, não serei abalado.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my spirit rejoiceth; Yea, my flesh dwelleth in security.
9 Por isso o meu coração se alegra e no íntimo exulto; mesmo o meu corpo repousará tranqüilo,
10 For thou wilt not give me up to the underworld; Nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see the pit.
10 porque tu não me abandonarás no sepulcro, nem permitirás que o teu santo sofra decomposição.
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life; In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
11 Tu me farás conhecer a vereda da vida, a alegria plena da tua presença, eterno prazer à tua direita.
