1 “For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” Deliver me, O LORD! from the evil man, Save me from the man of violence,
1 Ó Senhor Deus, salva-me dos maus! Livra-me dos homens violentos.
2 Who meditate mischief in their heart, And daily stir up war!
2 Eles vivem planejando o mal e estão sempre provocando brigas.
3 They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of the adder is under their lips. [[Pause.]]
3 A língua deles parece a língua das cobras venenosas, e as suas palavras são como o veneno das serpentes.
4 Defend me, O LORD! from the hands of the wicked, Preserve me from the man of violence, Who have purposed to cause my fall! [[Pause.]]
4 Ó Senhor Deus, protege-me do poder dos maus! Livra-me dos homens violentos, daqueles que procuram fazer com que eu caia na desgraça.
5 The proud have hidden snares and cords for me; They have spread a net by the way-side; They have set traps for me.
5 Homens orgulhosos armaram uma armadilha e estenderam uma rede no meu caminho; eles puseram armadilhas para me pegar.
6 I say to Jehovah, Thou art my God; Hear, O Jehovah! the voice of my supplication!
6 Eu digo ao Senhor : “Tu és o meu Deus.” Ó de ajuda!
7 The Lord Jehovah is my saving strength: Thou shelterest my head in the day of battle!
7 Ó Senhor , meu Deus e meu Salvador, tu me protegeste na batalha.
8 Grant not, O LORD! the desires of the wicked; Let not their devices prosper; Let them not exalt themselves!
8 Não dês aos maus o que eles querem, ó Não deixes que os seus planos perversos se realizem.
9 As for the heads of those who encompass me, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them!
9 Não deixes que os meus inimigos consigam a vitória; faze com que as suas ameaças contra mim caiam sobre eles mesmos.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them; May they be cast into the fire, And into deep waters from which they shall not arise!
10 Que caiam brasas em cima deles! Que sejam jogados num poço e nunca mais possam sair de lá!
11 The slanderer shall not be established upon the earth; Evil shall pursue the violent man to destruction.
11 Que os caluniadores não consigam progredir! Que a maldade persiga, pegue e destrua os homens violentos!
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And the right of the poor.
12 Ó Senhor Deus, eu sei que tu defendes o direito dos pobres e a causa dos necessitados.
13 Yea, the righteous shall praise thy name; The upright shall dwell in thy presence!
13 Os que te obedecem certamente te louvarão e os que são corretos viverão na tua presença.
