1 Not unto us, O LORD! not unto us, But unto thy name, give glory, For thy mercy and thy truth's sake!
1 Não a nós, ó SENHOR, não a nós, mas ao teu nome dá glória, por tua misericórdia, e por causa da tua verdade.
2 Why should the nations say, “Where is now their God?”
2 Por que os pagãos dirão: Onde está agora o seu Deus?
3 Our God is in the heavens; He doeth whatever he pleaseth.
3 Mas o nosso Deus está nos céus; ele faz tudo o que lhe apraz.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands:
4 Seus ídolos são prata e ouro, a obra das mãos dos homens.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;
5 Eles têm boca, mas não falam; eles têm olhos, mas não veem.
6 They have ears, but they hear not; Noses have they, but they smell not;
6 Eles têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem; eles têm narizes, mas não cheiram.
7 They have hands, but they handle not; They have feet, but they walk not; Nor do they speak with their throats.
7 Eles têm mãos, mas não seguram; eles têm pés, mas não andam; nem fala alguma sai através de sua garganta.
8 They who make them are like unto them; And so is every one that trusteth in them.
8 Aqueles que os fazem são como eles; assim também é cada um que confia neles.
9 O Israel! trust thou in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.
9 Ó Israel, confia no SENHOR; ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.
10 O house of Aaron! trust ye in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.
10 Ó Casa de Arão, confia no SENHOR; ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.
11 Ye that fear the LORD trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.
11 Vós, os que temeis ao SENHOR, confiai no SENHOR; ele é o seu socorro e o seu escudo.
12 The LORD hath been mindful of us; he will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
12 O SENHOR se atentou para nós; ele nos abençoará; abençoará a casa de Israel; abençoará a casa de Arão.
13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
13 Abençoará os que temem ao SENHOR, tanto pequenos quanto grandes.
14 The LORD will increase you more and more, You and your children.
14 O SENHOR vos aumentará mais e mais, a vós e a vossos filhos.
15 Blessed are ye of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
15 Sois abençoados do SENHOR, que fez o céu e a terra.
16 The heaven is the LORD'S heaven; But the earth he hath given to the sons of men.
16 O céu, até os céus são do SENHOR; mas a terra ele a deu aos filhos dos homens.
17 The dead praise not the LORD,—No one who goeth down into silence.
17 Os mortos não louvam ao SENHOR, nem nenhum dos que descem ao silêncio.
18 But we will bless the LORD, From this time forth even for ever! Praise ye the LORD!
18 Mas nós bendiremos ao SENHOR, desde este tempo em diante e para sempre. Louvai ao SENHOR.
