1 In the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from Jehovah.
1 No princípio do reinado de Zedequias, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, veio da parte do Senhor esta palavra a Jeremias:
2 Thus said Jehovah to me: Make thee bands and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,
2 Assim me disse o Senhor : Faze correias e canzis e põe-nos ao pescoço.
3 and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Zidon, by the hands of the messengers that are come to Jerusalem, to Zedekiah, king of Judah.
3 E envia outros ao rei de Edom, ao rei de Moabe, ao rei dos filhos de Amom, ao rei de Tiro e ao rei de Sidom, por intermédio dos mensageiros que vieram a Jerusalém ter com Zedequias, rei de Judá.
4 And command them to say to their masters, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Thus shall ye say to your masters:
4 Ordena-lhes que digam aos seus senhores: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Assim direis a vossos senhores:
5 The earth, and the men and the beasts which are upon the earth, have I made by my great power and my outstretched arm, and I give it to whomsoever it seemeth meet to me.
5 Eu fiz a terra, o homem e os animais que estão sobre a face da terra, com o meu grande poder e com o meu braço estendido, e os dou àquele a quem for justo.
6 And now I give all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant; the beasts of the field also I give him to serve him.
6 Agora, eu entregarei todas estas terras ao poder de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, meu servo; e também lhe dei os animais do campo para que o sirvam.
7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land, even his, shall come, and then shall many nations and great kings make him their servant.
7 Todas as nações servirão a ele, a seu filho e ao filho de seu filho, até que também chegue a vez da sua própria terra, quando muitas nações e grandes reis o fizerem seu escravo.
8 And the nation and the kingdom that will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon,—with the sword and with famine and with pestilence will I punish that nation, saith Jehovah, until I have consumed them by his hand.
8 Se alguma nação e reino não servirem o mesmo Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e não puserem o pescoço debaixo do jugo do rei da Babilônia, a essa nação castigarei com espada, e com fome, e com peste, diz o Senhor , até que eu a consuma pela sua mão.
9 Therefore hearken ye not to your prophets, and your diviners, and your dreamers, your soothsayers, and your sorcerers, who say to you, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon.
9 Não deis ouvidos aos vossos profetas e aos vossos adivinhos, aos vossos sonhadores, aos vossos agoureiros e aos vossos encantadores, que vos falam, dizendo: Não servireis o rei da Babilônia.
10 For they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and that ye should perish.
10 Porque eles vos profetizam mentiras para vos mandarem para longe da vossa terra, e para que eu vos expulse, e pereçais.
11 But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith Jehovah, and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
11 Mas a nação que meter o pescoço sob o jugo do rei da Babilônia e o servir, eu a deixarei na sua terra, diz o Senhor , e lavrá-la-á e habitará nela.
12 And to Zedekiah, king of Judah, also, spake I according to all these words, and said: Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
12 Falei a Zedequias, rei de Judá, segundo todas estas palavras, dizendo: Metei o pescoço no jugo do rei da Babilônia, servi-o, a ele e ao seu povo, e vivereis.
13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Jehovah hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
13 Por que morrerias tu e o teu povo, à espada, à fome e de peste, como o Senhor disse com respeito à nação que não servir ao rei da Babilônia?
14 Therefore hearken not to the prophets, that say to you, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.
14 Não deis ouvidos às palavras dos profetas, que vos dizem: Não servireis ao rei da Babilônia. É mentira o que eles vos profetizam.
15 For I have not sent them, saith Jehovah; but they prophesy a lie in my name, that I may drive you out, and that ye may perish, ye and the prophets that prophesy to you.
15 Porque não os enviei, diz o Senhor , e profetizam falsamente em meu nome, para que eu vos expulse e pereçais, vós e eles que vos profetizam.
16 To the priests, also, and to all the people; spake I, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Hearken not to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, and say, Behold the vessels of the house of Jehovah shall be brought back from Babylon now shortly; for they prophesy a lie to you.
16 Também falei aos sacerdotes e a todo este povo, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor : Não deis ouvidos às palavras dos vossos profetas que vos profetizam, dizendo: Eis que os utensílios da Casa do Senhor voltarão em breve da Babilônia. É mentira o que eles vos profetizam.
17 Hearken ye not to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city become a desolation?
17 Não lhes deis ouvidos, servi ao rei da Babilônia e vivereis; por que se tornaria esta cidade em desolação?
18 But if they be indeed prophets, and if the word of Jehovah be with them, let them now make intercession to Jehovah of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon.
18 Porém, se são profetas, e se a palavra do Senhor está com eles, que orem ao Senhor dos Exércitos, para que os utensílios que ficaram na Casa do Senhor , e na casa do rei de Judá, e em Jerusalém não sejam levados para a Babilônia.
19 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are let in this city,
19 Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos acerca das colunas, do mar, dos suportes e dos restantes utensílios que ficaram na cidade,
20 which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
20 os quais Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, não levou, quando deportou, de Jerusalém para a Babilônia, a Jeconias, filho de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, assim como a todos os nobres de Judá e de Jerusalém;
21 yea, thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem:
21 sim, isto diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, acerca dos utensílios que ficaram na Casa do Senhor , e na casa do rei de Judá, e em Jerusalém:
22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day when I shall visit them, saith Jehovah. Then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
22 à Babilônia serão levados, onde ficarão até ao dia em que eu atentar para eles, diz o Senhor ; então, os farei trazer e os devolverei a este lugar.
