1 But now thus saith Jehovah, that created thee, O Jacob, That formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by name; thou art mine!
1 Mas agora, povo de Israel, o “Não tenha medo, pois eu o salvarei; eu o chamei pelo seu nome, e você é meu.
2 When thou passest through waters, I will be with thee; And through rivers, they shall not overflow thee; When thou walkest through fire, thou shalt not be burned, And the flame shall not consume thee.
2 Quando você atravessar águas profundas, eu estarei ao seu lado, e você não se afogará. Quando passar pelo meio do fogo, as chamas não o queimarão.
3 For I am Jehovah, thy God, The Holy One of Israel, thy saviour. I will give Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee;
3 Pois eu sou o Senhor , seu Deus, o Santo Deus de Israel, o seu Salvador. Dei como pagamento o Egito, a Etiópia e Seba a fim de que você fosse meu.
4 Because thou art precious in my sight, Because thou art honored, and I love thee, Therefore will I give men for thee, And nations for thy life.
4 Para libertar você, entrego nações inteiras como o preço do resgate, pois para mim você vale muito. Você é o povo que eu amo, um povo que merece muita honra.
5 Fear not, for I am with thee! I will bring thy children from the East, And gather thee from the West.
5 Não tenha medo, pois eu estou com você. “Do Leste e do Oeste levarei o meu povo de volta para o seu país.
6 I will say to the North, “Give them up!” And to the South, “Withhold them not! Bring my sons from afar, And my daughters from the ends of the earth;
6 Ordenarei ao Norte que os deixe sair e direi ao Sul que não os segure. Dos lugares mais distantes do mundo deixem que os meus filhos e as minhas filhas voltem para casa!
7 Every one that is called by my name, That I have created for my glory, That I have formed and made!”
7 Todos eles são o meu próprio povo; eu os criei e lhes dei vida a fim de que mostrem a minha grandeza.”
8 Bring forth the blind people, having eyes, And the deaf, having ears.
8 O Senhor Deus diz: “Tragam o meu povo para ser julgado. Eles têm olhos, mas não veem, têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem.
9 Let all the nations be gathered together, And the kingdoms be assembled! Who among them hath declared this, And can show us former predictions? Let them produce their witnesses that they are right; That men may hear, and say, It is true!
9 Reúnam-se no tribunal, todas as nações, ajuntem-se, todos os povos. Por acaso, um dos seus deuses anunciou o que ia acontecer? Algum deles disse o que está acontecendo agora? Que eles tragam as suas testemunhas e provem que estão certos, a fim de que todos digam: ‘É verdade mesmo!’ ”
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, And my servant whom I have chosen, That ye may know and believe me, And understand that I am He. Before me was no god formed, And after me there shall be none.
10 O Senhor diz: “Povo de Israel, você é a minha testemunha; você é o para que me conheça, e creia em mim, e entenda que eu sou o único Deus. Antes de mim, não houve nenhum outro deus e nunca haverá outro depois.
11 I, I am Jehovah, And besides me there is no saviour.
11 Eu, só eu, sou o Senhor , somente eu posso salvar vocês.
12 I have declared and have saved; I made it known, when there was no strange god among you; Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, That I am God.
12 Fui eu quem prometeu salvá-los e, de fato, foi isso que fiz. E vocês são testemunhas de que não foi outro deus que fez isso.
13 Even from the beginning of time I have been He, And none can rescue from my hand; I undertake, and who can hinder?
13 Eu sou Deus e sempre serei. Ninguém pode escapar do meu poder e ninguém pode desfazer o que eu faço.”
14 Thus saith Jehovah, Your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sakes have I sent to Babylon, And caused all her fugitives, And the Chaldeans, to descend to the ships of their delight.
14 O Senhor , o Santo Deus de Israel, o Deus que salva, diz ao seu povo: “Por causa do meu amor por vocês, enviarei contra a Babilônia um exército que conquistará a cidade, e os gritos de alegria dos babilônios virarão choro.
15 I, Jehovah, am your Holy One, The creator of Israel, your king.
15 Eu sou o Senhor , o Santo Deus de vocês, o Criador de Israel e o seu Rei.”
16 Thus saith Jehovah,—He that made a way in the sea, And a path in the mighty waters,
16 Há muito tempo, o Senhor abriu um caminho no mar, uma estrada no meio das águas perigosas.
17 That caused the chariot and the horse, the army and the forces, to march forth; There they lay down together; they rose no more; They were extinguished; they were quenched like a torch;—
17 Ele derrotou um poderoso exército, um exército de carros e cavalos de guerra. Eles caíram para nunca mais se levantar; acabaram-se como um pavio que está se apagando.
18 Remember not the former things; The things of old regard no more!
18 Mas agora o Senhor Deus diz ao seu povo: “Não fiquem lembrando do que aconteceu no passado, não continuem pensando nas coisas que fiz há muito tempo.
19 Behold, I do a new thing; Now shall it spring forth; yea, ye shall see it. Behold, I make a way in the wilderness, And streams in the desert;
19 Pois agora vou fazer uma coisa nova, que logo vai acontecer, e, de repente, vocês a verão. Prepararei um caminho no deserto e farei com que estradas passem em terras secas.
20 The beasts of the forest shall honor me, The jackals and the ostriches; For I make rivers in the wilderness And streams in the desert, To give drink to my people, my chosen.
20 Serei louvado pelos animais selvagens, pelos chacais e pelos avestruzes. Pois farei com que jorrem fontes no deserto e com que rios corram pelas terras secas, para dar de beber ao meu povo escolhido.
21 This people, which I have formed for myself Shall make known my praise.
21 Este é o povo que criei para que fosse meu a fim de que desse louvores ao meu nome.”
22 Yet thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob, So as to have wearied thyself for me, O Israel!
22 O Senhor diz ao seu povo: “Vocês se enjoaram de mim e pararam de me adorar.
23 Thou hast not brought me thy lambs for a burnt-offering, Nor honored me with thy sacrifices; I have not burdened thee with oblations, Nor wearied thee with incense;
23 Vocês não me ofereceram carneiros para serem queimados em sacrifício , nem me honraram com outros sacrifícios. Eu não os obriguei a me apresentarem ofertas de cereais, nem fiquei exigindo que me oferecessem incenso.
24 Thou hast bought me no sweet-smelling reed with silver, Neither hast thou satisfied me with the fat of thy sacrifices; With thy sins hast thou burdened me, And wearied me with thine iniquities.
24 Vocês não foram obrigados a comprar plantas cheirosas para apresentá-las a mim, nem tiveram de me oferecer a gordura dos animais para me agradar. Pelo contrário, vocês me cansaram com os seus pecados e me aborreceram com as suas maldades.
25 I, I myself, blot out thy transgressions for my own sake, And will not remember thy sins.
25 “Mas eu — eu mesmo — sou o seu Deus e por isso perdoo os seus pecados e os esqueço.
26 Put me in remembrance; let us plead together; Speak that thou mayst justify thyself.
26 Meu povo, se você tem uma causa contra mim, vamos juntos ao tribunal! Apresente as suas provas, e veremos se você tem razão.
27 Thy forefathers sinned, And thy teachers were rebellious against me;
27 O pai da sua raça pecou; os seus
28 Therefore have I profaned the princes of the sanctuary, And given up Jacob to a curse, And Israel to reproach.
28 e as suas autoridades profanaram o meu Templo. Por isso, eu deixei que Israel fosse destruído, deixei que o meu próprio povo fosse humilhado.”
