1 Now as to the matters about which ye wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman;
1 Quanto aos assuntos sobre os quais vocês escreveram, é bom que o homem não toque em mulher,
2 but on account of the commonness of fornication, let every man have his own wife, and every woman her own husband.
2 mas, por causa da imoralidade, cada um deve ter sua esposa, e cada mulher o seu próprio marido.
3 Let the husband render to his wife her due; and so also the wife to her husband.
3 O marido deve cumprir os seus deveres conjugais para com a sua mulher, e da mesma forma a mulher para com o seu marido.
4 The wife hath not the disposal of her own body, but her husband; and so also the husband hath not the disposal of his own body, but his wife.
4 A mulher não tem autoridade sobre o seu próprio corpo, mas sim o marido. Da mesma forma, o marido não tem autoridade sobre o seu próprio corpo, mas sim a mulher.
5 Defraud not one another, except by agreement for a time, that ye may have a season for prayer; and be together again, that Satan may not tempt you through your incontinence.
5 Não se recusem um ao outro, exceto por mútuo consentimento e durante certo tempo, para se dedicarem à oração. Depois, unam-se de novo, para que Satanás não os tente por não terem domínio próprio.
6 But I say this by way of permission, not command.
6 Digo isso como concessão, e não como mandamento.
7 I would that all men were as I myself; but every one hath his own gift from God, one man this, and another that.
7 Gostaria que todos os homens fossem como eu; mas cada um tem o seu próprio dom da parte de Deus; um de um modo, outro de outro.
8 I say also to the unmarried and the widows, it is good for them to remain as I am;
8 Digo, porém, aos solteiros e às viúvas: é bom que permaneçam como eu.
9 but if they cannot control themselves, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.
9 Mas, se não conseguem controlar-se, devem casar-se, pois é melhor casar-se do que ficar ardendo de desejo.
10 But to those who are married it is my command, yet not mine, but the Lord's: Let not the wife separate herself from her husband,
10 Aos casados dou este mandamento, não eu, mas o Senhor: que a esposa não se separe do seu marido.
11 and if she have separated herself let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; and let not the husband put away his wife.
11 Mas, se o fizer, que permaneça sem se casar ou, então, reconcilie-se com o seu marido. E o marido não se divorcie da sua mulher.
12 But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she be satisfied to dwell with him, let him not put her away;
12 Aos outros eu mesmo digo isto, e não o Senhor: se um irmão tem mulher descrente, e ela se dispõe a viver com ele, não se divorcie dela.
13 and if a wife hath an unbelieving husband, and he be satisfied to dwell with her, let her not put her husband away.
13 E, se uma mulher tem marido descrente, e ele se dispõe a viver com ela, não se divorcie dele.
14 For the unbelieving husband hath been made holy by his wife, and the unbelieving wife hath been made holy by the brother; otherwise were your children unclean, but, as it is, they are holy.
14 Pois o marido descrente é santificado por meio da mulher, e a mulher descrente é santificada por meio do marido. Se assim não fosse, seus filhos seriam impuros, mas agora são santos.
15 But if the unbelieving separateth himself, let him separate himself; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God hath called you to be in peace.
15 Todavia, se o descrente separar-se, que se separe. Em tais casos, o irmão ou a irmã não fica debaixo de servidão; Deus nos chamou para vivermos em paz.
16 For how dost thou know, O wife, but that thou mayst save thy husband? or how dost thou know, O husband, but that thou mayst save thy wife?
16 Você, mulher, como sabe se salvará seu marido? Ou você, marido, como sabe se salvará sua mulher?
17 But let every one continue to walk in the lot which the Lord appointed him, in the condition in which God called him. And this direction I give in all the churches.
17 Entretanto, cada um continue vivendo na condição que o Senhor lhe designou e de acordo com o chamado de Deus. Esta é a minha ordem para todas as igrejas.
18 Was any one called being circumcised, let him not become as if uncircumcised; hath any one been called in uncircumcision, let him not become circumcised.
18 Foi alguém chamado sendo já circunciso? Não desfaça a sua circuncisão. Foi alguém chamado sendo incircunciso? Não se circuncide.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
19 A circuncisão não significa nada, e a incircuncisão também nada é; o que importa é obedecer aos mandamentos de Deus.
20 Let every one remain in the same calling in which he was called.
20 Cada um deve permanecer na condição em que foi chamado por Deus.
21 Wast thou called being a slave, care not for it; but even if thou canst be made free, use it rather.
21 Foi você chamado sendo escravo? Não se incomode com isso. Mas, se você puder conseguir a liberdade, consiga-a.
22 For he that was called in the Lord, being a slave, is the Lord's freeman. In like manner the freeman, who is called, is Christ's slave.
22 Pois aquele que, sendo escravo, foi chamado pelo Senhor, é liberto e pertence ao Senhor; semelhantemente, aquele que era livre quando foi chamado, é escravo de Cristo.
23 Ye were bought with a price; become not the slaves of men.
23 Vocês foram comprados por alto preço; não se tornem escravos de homens.
24 In that state, brethren, in which he was called, let every one remain with God.
24 Irmãos, cada um deve permanecer diante de Deus na condição em que foi chamado.
25 Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
25 Quanto às pessoas virgens, não tenho mandamento do Senhor, mas dou meu parecer como alguém que, pela misericórdia de Deus, é digno de confiança.
26 I think, then, that it is well, on account of the impending distress, for a man to remain as he is.
26 Por causa dos problemas atuais, penso que é melhor o homem permanecer como está.
27 Art thou bound to a wife, seek not to be loosed from her; art thou loosed from a wife, do not seek for one.
27 Você está casado? Não procure separar-se. Está solteiro? Não procure esposa.
28 But if thou hast married, thou hast committed no sin; and if a virgin hath married, she hath committed no sin. Such, however, will have trouble in the flesh, which I desire to spare you.
28 Mas, se vier a casar-se, não comete pecado; e, se uma virgem se casar, também não comete pecado. Mas aqueles que se casarem enfrentarão muitas dificuldades na vida, e eu gostaria de poupá-los disso.
29 But this I say, brethren, the time that remaineth is short; that both they that have wives may be as though they had none;
29 O que quero dizer é que o tempo é pouco. De agora em diante, aqueles que têm esposa, vivam como se não tivessem;
30 and they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
30 aqueles que choram, como se não chorassem; os que estão felizes, como se não estivessem; os que compram algo, como se nada possuíssem;
31 and they that use this world as not abusing it; for the outward condition of this world is passing away;
31 os que usam as coisas do mundo, como se não as usassem; porque a forma presente deste mundo está passando.
32 and I would have you free from anxious cares. He that is unmarried careth about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;
32 Gostaria de vê-los livres de preocupações. O homem que não é casado preocupa-se com as coisas do Senhor, em como agradar ao Senhor.
33 but he that is married careth about the things of the world, how to please his wife.
33 Mas o homem casado preocupa-se com as coisas deste mundo, em como agradar sua mulher,
34 There is a difference also between a wife and a virgin; the unmarried woman careth about the things of the Lord, to be holy, both in body and in spirit; but she that is married careth about the things of the world, how to please her husband.
34 e está dividido. Tanto a mulher não casada como a virgem preocupam-se com as coisas do Senhor, para serem santas no corpo e no espírito. Mas a casada preocupa-se com as coisas deste mundo, em como agradar seu marido.
35 And this I say for your own profit; not to cast a noose over you, but with a view to what is becoming, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
35 Estou dizendo isso para o próprio bem de vocês; não para lhes impor restrições, mas para que vocês possam viver de maneira correta, em plena consagração ao Senhor.
36 But if any one thinketh that he behaveth improperly in respect to his virgin [[daughter]], if she pass the flower of her age [[without being married]], and if it must be so, let him do what he will, he committeth no sin; let them marry.
36 Se alguém acha que não está tratando sua filha como é devido e que ela está numa idade madura, pelo que ele se sente obrigado a casá-la, faça como achar melhor. Com isso não peca. Deve permitir que se case.
37 But if any one is settled in his purpose, and is under no necessity, but is free to act as he will, and hath determined in his heart to keep his own virgin daughter [[unmarried]], he doeth well.
37 Contudo, o que se mantém firme no seu propósito e não é dominado por seus impulsos mas domina sua própria vontade, e resolveu manter solteira sua filha, este também faz bem.
38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; and he that doth not give her in marriage doeth better.
38 De modo que aquele que dá sua filha em casamento faz bem, mas o que não a dá em casamento faz melhor.
39 The wife is bound to her husband as long as he liveth; but if her husband die, she is free to marry whom she will, only in the Lord.
39 A mulher está ligada a seu marido enquanto ele viver. Mas, se o seu marido morrer, ela estará livre para se casar com quem quiser, contanto que ele pertença ao Senhor.
40 But she is happier if she remain as she is, in my opinion; and I too think that I have the Spirit of God.
40 Em meu parecer, ela será mais feliz se permanecer como está; e penso que também tenho o Espírito de Deus.
