1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy,to the congregationof the Thessalonians in God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ:
1 Nós, Paulo, Silas e Timóteo, escrevemos esta carta à igreja em Tessalônica, a vocês que estão em Deus, nosso Pai, e no Senhor Jesus Cristo.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ.
2 Que Deus, nosso Pai, e o Senhor Jesus Cristo lhes deem graça e paz.
3 We are obligated to always give thanks to God about you, brothers, and properly so, because your faith is really growing, and the love of each and every one of you towards each other keeps increasing;
3 Irmãos, não podemos deixar de dar graças a Deus por vocês, pois sua fé tem se desenvolvido cada vez mais, e seu amor uns pelos outros tem crescido.
4 so that we ourselves boast about you among God's congregations, referring to your steadfastness and faith in the midst of all your persecutions, and the tribulations that you are enduring
4 Por isso nos orgulhamos de falar às outras igrejas de Deus sobre sua perseverança e fidelidade em todas as perseguições e aflições que vocês têm sofrido.
5 —the above is evidence that God's judgment is right,to the end that you be considered worthyof the Kingdom of God, on behalf of which you are actually suffering;
5 Deus usará essa perseguição para mostrar que seu julgamento é justo e para torná-los dignos de seu reino, pelo qual estão sofrendo.
6 since to God it is right to pay back affliction to those who are afflicting you
6 Em sua justiça, Deus pagará com aflição aqueles que afligem vocês.
7 and rest (along with us) to you who are being afflicted,at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful angels in blazing fire,
7 Deus concederá descanso a vocês, que são afligidos, e também a nós, na revelação do Senhor Jesus, quando ele vier do céu. Virá com seus anjos poderosos,
8 inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,
8 em chamas de fogo, trazendo juízo sobre os que não conhecem a Deus e sobre os que se recusam a obedecer às boas-novas de nosso Senhor Jesus.
9 who will pay a penalty: everlasting ruin,away from the face of the Lord and from the glory of His might,
9 Eles serão punidos com destruição eterna, separados para sempre da presença do Senhor e de seu glorioso poder.
10 whenever He comes to be glorified by His saints,yes to be marveled at by all who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed);in that Day.
10 No dia em que ele vier, receberá glória de seu povo santo e louvores de todos os que creem. E isso inclui vocês, pois creram naquilo que lhes dissemos a respeito dele.
11 To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of the callingand fulfillwith power every desire of usefulness and work of faith,
11 Assim, continuamos a orar por vocês, pedindo a nosso Deus que os capacite a ter uma vida digna de seu chamado e lhes dê poder para realizar as coisas boas que a fé os motivar a fazer.
12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christmay be glorified in you,and you in Him,according to the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.
12 Então o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus será honrado em vocês, e vocês serão honrados com ele. Tudo isso é possível pela graça de nosso Deus e Senhor, Jesus Cristo.
